Exhausted. . . .

Saturday, July 17, 2010

I've been up since 5:47am. I tried to go back & caught another 30mins. Watched law & order & then got up got dressed & about to head out the door but wait my bed isn't made up. If my bed is not made up it irks me something awful. Why am I that way? Well my mom used to send our sheets out to be dry cleaned. A truck would arrive & pick them up & dropped them back off in a brown bag nicely pressed & fresh. I loved the way she made up a bed. Some times with me still in it. The bed would be so tight & she would sprinkle powder between the sheets from Avon. So I have had a very busy day, groceries, dishes, breakfast, more dishes. mopping & sweeping the kitchen, hallway & bathroom floors. I had to help my youngest clean his room which is such & beast & he rarely sleeps in there. Anyway, I am going to lie down for a minute & take a load off. Later I will do some yoga stretches & jumping jacks.

What have you done for work around the house sake? I hate house work but I don't have a maid yet? lol

God bless & enjoy Saturday!

Whoa Baby, you should write a book! I'm wondering where I should even call if I wanted my sheets picked up and returned pressed and packaged. That soes sound Chicago!
I've been working outdoors changing perennial beds to a no-work yard that my brother will be able to maintain on his own. I'm on a race with myself to finish it by July. Steep order though.
You do sound super busy. Hmmm, maybe the kids have some ideas on how to make more you time.
Enjoy the day!! emoticon
Wish you had a picture of those sheets being delivered! emoticon

I woke up just after 5am too - my internal clock I suppose. I should sleep more since I didn't get to bed until almost 1am.

Today is my housework day... because like you I don't have a maid yet.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Girl, I just started to invest in a maid service. It used to make me feel bad that the house wasn't up to par (even though i work 2 jobs). I decided to bite the bullet and let someone else do a thorough clean once a month and I just maintain. I don't feel so overwelmed now. The house is so clean you can eat off the floor!

Just a thought,

Rest In Peace Rev Walter Hawkins . . . .

Monday, July 12, 2010

Please listen to hear Rev Walter Hawkins

Today I lost someone whose voice (just like my moms) would lift me up, bring me joy & tears all at the same time. He was an awesome singer & wonderful pastor. Walter Hawkins died of complications with pancretic cancer. This is one his songs that really touched my heart & if you've never heard him sing, you've missed out truly a wonderful treat. I will be praying for his family as I know it is a great loss to them.

In my youth, I can remember gospel music playing all everyday & especially on the weekends when my mom washed our clothes on a scrub board & hung them out to dry. Yes, she was an old school mom. lol I gospel played on Sunday morning, there was no watching tv while getting dressed. You dressed first & then sat nicely until everyone was ready to go to church together. My time has changed but I am trying implement my own changes back to the old time way. No tv til you're dressed & then cartoons only. I need to speak this to me & my husband cause we are often held back by the idiot box. lol

I pray that we all take the opportunity to share with our loved ones how much we love them. Take a walk or eat a healthier meal to walk with them in the future. This is one of the reasons we are on spark to live & be better. The same reason I love being a christian to love greater, live better, do better & be better!

God bless you all & enjoy your day!

Dee

Dee...one of my fav. I was a choir singer and I need to be again because I know that's one of the Gifts God gave me. His music will last because of all the recordings around. "Going Away" is one of my fav and "Be Grateful" "Changed" I used to sing it loud and clear(at home) and now it reminds me as it plays of those I love who I will love to see...and it will be soon. God bless the family again with His Perfect Peace. In Jesus Name.Yes Lord!

Roots of our Gospel Music. Gone...but never forgotten. When I was in my early 20's I wanted to sing lead on "Changed" but because I was so shy I didn't use my Gift from God publicly to it's potential. Use your Gifts from God before you lose them. What ever they are. Gospel Music on a Sunday morning was my choice, not my moms or listening to ministers on the tv or radio. I still do that and will keep doing it and teaching my young relatives also.
Thanks Dee for this post.

Awesome. . . .

Victory is My Name by Jonathan Nelson
What a wonderful & awesome God I serve! Its truly been a blessed day today. I woke up spent time with my family & then got up, took a shower & we were headed to church. The pastor's sermon "Equipped to Stand Victorious in Battle Ephesians 6:10-18." What meaty meal we were able to partake of! I know that we are given power over our enemy but we first must be willing to submit to the will of God. Some times we think just "because" we have victory but we need teaching & training to be victorious in our battle. We must put on the whole armor of God! Despite the attacks of satan God has equipped us for battle and prepared us for victory but we must exercise of faith in God. We must submit ourselves to God, draw nigh to Go & cleanse our hands & purify our hearts.

I came home cooked pot roast, carrots, au gratin potatoes, baked chicken & broccoli. So that my youngest son would eat veggies I sliced cucumbers & added a little salt & loads of peppers. That worked tremendously! He ate that would a smidgen of ranch dressing. I had a salad with cucumbers with a dash or two of ranch dressings, Everybody had a little bit of this & a little bit of that. They left the table full & we thanked God for His goodness & mercy!

I am doing weights & walking today because I did not get a workout in this morning. See what happens when you lounge around in the morning? I need to get up & hit it!

God bless & enjoy Sunday!

Dee

Good Times. . . .

Saturday, July 10, 2010

So yesterday we had our informal staff meeting which included naturally baked chips, chicken thighs, chicken breasts, steaks, pork chops, mushrooms & cole slaw. I ate my stak which was cooked to perfection. It only needed A-1 steak sauce. I always ruin a good steak but I was a trooper and ate on without the steak sauce. So delicious! I ate half & took the rest home for scraps for my doggie. He was well pleased! lol

Anyway, the meeting was about us taking every other Friday off. We will switch out with another employee so we are not understaffed but still enjoing the summer. I am so STOKED! I am even willing to give my co-worker, who by the way too off yesterday, next Friday to start. How angelic am I?! I know I know hold the applause cause I almost was going to take Monday off but I've been given this olive branch.

Although the office was in no danger of burning down yesterday we had just got the grill started so we were not able to offer them anything. They made light of it & joked with me & the rest of the staff. lol

What an awesome way to start the weekend!

God bless & enjoy Saturday!

These are the Good Times. . . . . .
