I Got 2 Words for you . . .

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

The 2 words I got for you is Golden Corral that's where we ended up for my son's 17th birthday. Now when I was growing up on my bday I didn't have huge fusses made over me but you do want that some times for you loved ones right? Well he didn't know what he wanted to at all. He wanted to go to IHOP, then TGIFridays & the Portillo's (which is a grill hamburger type place) so we ended up at Golden Corral. This a all you can eat type buffet but a HUGE bump up from Old Country. I tried a little of everything & I won't even log cause it was in deed way too much food.

I know that place and thank God it was not my favorite, otherwise I would have 200 pounds to lose. LOL I went when I lived in Plano and I was the payer of about 5 or 6...I forgot but over 60 bucks but I didn't eat a lot I remember and was glad to go home. That place has so much to offer someone who can't make their mind up.

We had a all you can eat place I think Ryan's Steak House; yes that was it and it was quite good...except the food got cold too fast and I didn't like that at all. I also preferred CiCi's Pizza...the spinach pizza was my fav and the cinnamon sticks. Those were the days...and I don't miss them when I can cook for myself a better meal for the calories. Praise the Lord for growing.

They recently opened up one of those GC walking distances from me (probably best to walk there). I looked for the Applewood grill but you're right, the steak is for dinner. Lots of choices and we should stick to moderation when going there. Glad you took the time to spend with your son for his B-day! I bet you had a wonderful time!

Feet Are Propped On . . .

Sunday, May 23, 2010

Got up early this morning & made it to the 8am service for the Women's Day event at church today. The theme, "Are You Thirsty?" the colors were cream & mocha, well I order a cool suit from Victoria Secret & a nice chocolate top. I was actually pretty close to the swatches they provided. I am so full right now I just wanted to SHOUT! WOOHOOO It was good. . . . .

My son's birthdays is tomorrow. I cut a $100 bill in 2 and put one piece in his card & the other, I hide in his room with another $100. Well I did give a few clues as how to find them. LOL But he has given me a little grief so now its payback time. lol Hopefully he will clean his room in the process. I made dinner with him in mind, filet mignon steaks with bacon, baked chicken for me, cajun pasta with shrimp & chicken, yellow corn (last week), texas toast & twice baked potatoes. He really enjoyed his meal. So did my husband & youngest son. He wants to go out for pizza & I'm sure he wants to do more shopping. He will have to wait on his dad for that one though. Times are tight & I can't be as speedy as I normally do. He understands as I told him I got him Payless gym shoes (which he hates!) but I have to help him enjoy the money, going on out on Monday & Tuesday & going shopping. Man, when I was a kid & I got up to $50 for my birthday, I was so happy. My how times have changed.

I have done walking today, I wanted to do my Leslie walk dvd, boot camp & a yoga stretch but feet are swollen right now. So they are elevated propped on pillows since they are swollen. No Desperate Housewives or Brothers & Sisters so I can workout in an hour or so. . . .

God bless & of course plates all around!

You are a wonderful Mother, Dee. God Bless your sons birthday and may he always remember all you have done for him and everybody else. You worked good today. My sista bought a baked chicken from Kroger and I made mashed sweet potatoes. I wish I lived by you because you can cook them Sunday meals. I only like to cook like that on holidays because too many leftovers get wasted. God bless you richly Dee.

NO!!!! Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters are not on tonight? Oh that's right, last week was the season finale of DH. What did you think of it? I actually thought it was weird the way Catherine left, it seemed like she will be back, and the murderer kid with Lynette's baby, well I thought it was slightly touching, but it could have been more interesting. OH, and what's their names, the Italian chick. Do you think they are permanently gone?

Explore Your Dreams. . . .

I'm working on my first novel and it's hard work being a Writer. You have to continual study the works of others and then read the new stuff in the genre that you write in. But my Poetry writing is easier and I love it and I plan on creating Greeting cards for profit. I got a plan! Thanks.

You are so right about exploring our dreams. I'm definitely on my way. A year ago I was in the midst of making my mind up about buying a home. It will be a year on June 8th that I drove to a mortgage broker not knowing what to expect and walked out with a mortgage. While a pending surgery loomed, I kept pushing and found that home for Taylor and I and while on crutches from knee surgery I was packing and moving. Had I not dared to dream of wanting something better, I would still be in the same place. This year as been amazing as I work on my own back and fron yards. It has been hard work but it's finaly coming around. Who would have thought I would be getting my own new windows and roof work done.....Never in a million years did I believe that all I had to do is to just go for it. So when you dream, dream BIG.......God has a plan and you definitely have to believe it to achieve it. I'm proof. So now today I'm dreaming of finally getting this house in order and tickets to Jamaica or would be good to see my brother. Maybe for Taylor's graduation.....????? I promise to keep you posted.

Dilemma . . . .

Thursday, May 20, 2010

So I got a financial blessing this week! Hallelujah!! With that being said, I don't want to spend all my duckets in one bucket. . . lol So here's my dilemma:

Which could work for dual purposes like wearing to work & wearing to church. Did I say that these cost $39.95 with free shipping from DSW? lol

My workout shoes which I wear indoors mostly has a tear in them but I am need of a new shoe. Now of course I could wait until Footlocker has another 30% off of online & in store purchase to get these $69 pair of shoes. Or what do you think? HELP!!

In other news, I did walking today, All Star Workout with Kendall Hogan 60mins doing jumping jacks & side kicks during the commercials, did Namaste Yoga for 30mins also doing extensive warrior poses during commercial breaks burning 900+ calories. I know I should be burned out but I feel like I could 45mins of tae bo. Awe too bad I got a dinner tonight to go to. lol

God bless & thanks again Sparkfam!! Help me decide . . . .

Get the "too cute" shoes.....I'll go for a high heel ANYDAY!!!!! I'm 5'10 and my sweetie loves for me to wear high heels--he's 6'6"---and he's pretty good at picking out cute shoes too!!! Funny you are having this dilemma, I recently cleaned out my closets and I counted 163 pairs of shoes. 25 of them I have never worn (and they are cute) so I bagged them up and gave them away....I was kinda kicking & screaming but it was pointed out to me that they had never been worn so I must not like them that much (whatever!!!) Then the charge was NOT to buy another pair of shoes for the next 3 months.....I'm already weak. Please pray for me.

Get the sexy heels---get the sexy heels---GET THE SEXY HEELS!!!!!!

NISSANGIRL 5/20/2010 5:04PM

I love the heels! but you do need the sneakers for all the workouts that you do in a day girl! I would get the sneakers which will help you look sexier then you already are! then get the shoes later. Keep up the awesome work Dee! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

You gave your own self the answer by saying that the workout shoe has a tear in it and you wear them mostly indoors that means noone can see them with the tear in them. They can wait. Get the sexy shoe girl you deserve it. emoticon

This is a tough one, the high heel for sure will make you feel great and sexy now, not to mention that is a great price. But the tennis shoe is the "thing" that will help you reach or maintain your sexy forever!......But in the end though, either one is a win win. And congrats on your financial blessing, God is good.

Humping Right Along

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

So instead of dancing this morning, I did FitTv's Total Body Sculpt with Gilad & Shiva Rea Yoga workout & they were very intermediate. I enjoyed it so much I worked up an appetite. So you guessed it, I had a pancake, a spoonful of scrambled eggs & a slice bacon & a cup of strawberries. YUMMY!

Got to work & my co-worker who was so secretive yesterday about if I was coming to work or not? She even text me last night to find out if I was coming in? I told her yes. I just needed to go home & lie down. Well I got here this morning & a huge piece of Red Velvet Cake lay on my desk! How could I not eat that lushes slice of cake since I had never tasted it before? Well I finished most of it but stuck with the rest of my day.

I will definitely need more brisk walking. I'm telling you it was heavenly & its a blessing to be appreciated. You guys do it so much and don't get wrong virtual is nice. But being able to eat that treat is so LOVELY!!

Guys dance like nobody is watching & live life to the fullest!

God bless & take care!
