Birthdays & Beyond. . . .

Can a person be tired of partying for birthdays? Well let me tell you, my grandson & I share the same day, so I have to run over & do ice cream cake, wings, finger sandwiches & the opening of the gifts. Which that was cool. Now my youngest son's birthday is today. I took yesterday off & me the hubby ran around picking up a few gifts for him while he was at school. So this morning, I hadn't put anything out yet & he was mopping around like I didn't anything for my birthday?! emoticon why am I not getting any gifts. He went downstairs & laid out his shirts, jeans, pair of basket ball shorts & basketball & a card with $50. I called him upstairs & told him to come clean up his room. . . He mopped upstairs & almost changed from night & day when he saw his gifts. He mumbled thanks mom & dad. . . . emoticon You just can't please them. . . . Now I just have my son (17th) bday in May & my daughter's (24th) bday in August & I can relax. . . . emoticon

    Oh girl, trust me I know how that is. My family is super tight and between me and 2 sisters and one brother we have 17 children so the parties never stop! It's like my poor wallet cries every weekend! Every month is packed with parties! But hey, if it wasn't like that we probably would miss it! Enjoy as much as you can!

    LOL Dee Dee, aries girl, I think there must be something about the spring lamb thing -- the birds get it, too! My sister is 3/30. My other sister is 4/1. My birthday is 4/2. And my son was born on 3/30 like my sister!

So its Friday!

I have had a most excellent week of working out & refocusing my caloric intake & 1/2 days at work that its been terrific! I forgot about all the half days I was taking?! lol I guess it comes with age. Speaking of which I got one coming on Sunday, I will be 41years young. I feel very young inside & that's due to the workout & eating better. I still have my red vines & fishes but I am getting better with time. So I got to work & had a bevy of gifts waiting for me & I felt truly blessed to be remembered! Here is a picture of my gifts at work.

I also got a gold plated juicy couture necklace & bracelet which I will be gifting to my co-worker & daughter as I prefer silver. I know I am so wrong on so many levels but I like to pick my gifts. How wrong am I? I am so ungrateful. emoticon emoticon I get worse at receiving gifts the older I get. I LOVe giving though & I guess that's my downfall.

Going to do some step aerobics, jumping jacks, abs & walking today burning 500+ calories. Join me & enjoy the fruits of our labors. My jacket is loose so I am happy!

Sparkfamily, I love you guys & thank you for your support & Happy Birthday wishes! I don't eat caviar but I think I will get a couple of boxes of Red Vines. SHHHHHHH don't tell nobody! lol

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Isnt it amazing that the older we get the better we get. I mean look at that - you are leaving proof that age does not define wha tyou are capable of physically and you will push yourself harder and stronger everyday. when are you going to run your first half marathon?? So today I am taking a half a day to get some workout in & rest. . . I will let you know how that works in my next blog. I ate pretty light oatmeal, 2 slice of honey wheat toast with water. I wish I had some milk. I had dannon yogurt for a morning snack & had some pecans. I did fold & had hot dog & a huge salad. For dinner its going to peanut butter & jelly on honey wheat. My workout will be tae bo, walking, abs, muscle endurance & QFC hoping to burn 757+ calories.

    Sounds like you had a great day. A very healthy menu. I wish I can do that. I start piecing my meals together in my head and then I forget. I just need to write them down. I used to mass cook...but I do keep Sunday's meals most of the week so that's mass cooking. LOL.

ABCs, Tony & the Capn . . .

What do all these have in common? They are my favorite cereals of ALL time! Post alphabet, Kellogg Frosted Flakes & Capn Crunch (original) with 1%milk takes me back to being 10years old again. Mind you, I do eat Raisin Bran & Cheerios & I get full eating them but they don't take me to happier place. lol Today, I had strawberries, bacon, egg (substitute) with cheese on a croissant, it was yummy & I am really FULL! I had a salad, a fork full of pulled pork meat only, broccoli & a huge salad. I am about to fall over I'm so full! I had a few sips of coffee to wake me up. I feel like I have been eating a McDonald's #13 with a vanilla shake and that's almost 1500 calories right there. I did choose healthier options today but I also indulged in the Red Vines, I know, I know. Don't beat me up too badly, I'm a work in progress.

Well, I did walking & abs and will do Boot Camp, Yoga fusion tonight burning almost 1200+ calories. I'm getting sleepy just thinking about it.

So its Hump Day, my grandson highly recommends it.

    Oh girl please don't get me started O I love captain crunch original cereal and peanut butter cereal. Count choular (spelling) Franklin berry cereal. Oh the list goes on and on memories. We as kids always had our own personal cereal box. LOL! Now I try to eat healthier. Wednesday special day for kid cereal I like it. may start next week. Sugar smacks etc. Oh the list.....

    Yummy. Sounds like a good day of eating. I love to get really full for breakfast and then eat less throughout the rest of the day. As for cereal, I am a Cap'n cruncher too. I like to eat cereal for dinner sometimes, and although I try to eat Special K most of the time, there is nothing better than a childhood favorite to make my day! Happy Wednesday. God Bless

How come when I am working out like a maniac I am eating like a maniac?! lol I have just come to that realization that I need to put 1+1 together to get success! When I eat loads of veggies & fruits & combine that with working out, I lose but I win too. Why can't my brain put them together already & stop with INSANITY!! lol emoticon emoticon

Just venting a little.

Today, I walked, did kickboxing, windmills with arms (100) Quick Fire Challenge & will do weights tonight for about 30minutes & combine eating almost right. lol emoticon emoticon emoticon Make it happen!

    Me too, I exercise everyday for 2hrs and end up starving and called a close friend of mine and he said I need more carbs to eat. So, I have to remain in my calorie range and eat more carbs. Where there is a will there is a way. I know the feeling of hunger too much also lol. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon we can all do this and finish losing weight.

    I am in the same boat girl, the more I work out the hungrier I am! and not to offend anyone, but now I am pmsing so I have carvings galore! you are doing awesome Dee, you tired me out when I read what you did today! I worked in the garden and it is starting to look awesome!     the key is mama you are working out. that is what really matters. my mother is at this point in her journey - needing to free herself from her restrictive diet and get more into fitness. itsnt this what is should eventuallly become about. if you are doing this at least you are maintaing and this a a HUGE accomplishment so celebrate that misses!

    I was doing the same thing a year ago. I was spending 2 hours a day on my workout activities, then would be starving by the time I returned home. It wasn't until I started tracking my nutrition that while I thought I was eating healthy, I really wasn't and those choices were putting me over on the calorie count. Once I started tracking, I've been making better choices and losing weight!!!

    Hi Dee

I agree with KatMomma, when you work out excessively and your body doesn't have enough carbs for you to burn calories and loose weight, all you are loosing is muscle mass not fat. You have to have enough calories to burn off. Veggies are good but you got to have proteins, fat, and carbs to make it work.

    Very true..the same thing happens to me but I try to pig out on veggies. Most the time after the gym I make a mean veggie str-fry which is out of site!
