Say Yes. . . .

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

This song says it all. This part of my devotional & get up & go song for the day. I hope someone receives a word from it & presses on. . . .

Today, I walked 30mins this morning, did Namaste Yoga, working on my Quick Fire & will walk an additional 30mins tonight. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticonI am just plum tired. . .

I need to eat foods that give me energy, any suggestions?!

God bless & Happy Tuesday! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticonDee

Apples with peanut butter. Love them for a nice pick me up snack.

Also, Gatorade or propel tends to help me, since I have issues with my electrolyte absorption. The extras just help me get over the slump so to speak.

Or, maybe you just need a day of rest? You are always going, doing so much. Perhaps your body is just saying it needs a day off?

Have a great week!

Foods that give you energy - I will be back to see what kind of suggestions you get. I still think that water and fruit give me energy. I also want to listen to your link but since I'm at work, I'll listen tonight from home. I hope you're having a great day.

Surviving Monday Morning. . .

Monday, March 29, 2010

So I woke up early & laid around for about 20minutes in my nice comforty bed. Then I remember that I am in charge of Shadow while my son is on his college tour. So I hopped up & got dressed & took it out on a walk/jog this morning. It was brisk but beautiful. I love the calm mornings of Chicago. Before you are barely conscious, half the city is up doing their workouts, making deliveries to stores & getting kids up for drop offs to daycare. So I am blogging early as to not do so much while I'm at work. So how will I survive Monday today without Sparkin much? I don't know its something new but we will see. I guess I could do my job? Nah! lol Anyway, I hope you all are grabbing Monday by the horns & riding it like a cowboy.

Today Shadow & I did a walk/jog for 20mins, 30mins of All Star Workouts Boot Camp, 45mins of abs/stretch with Cathe & will walk an additional 60mins. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

God bless & Happy Monday Sparkfamily! emoticon emoticon

Geeezzz girl, you are an exercising machine. I did a 45 min. walk and 10 minutes with the weighted hula hoop and 5 lb weights and thought I was doing good, but man I need to step it up. Enjoy the rest of your day, we are having gorgeous Spring weather here in Long Beach CA, but they are saying rain on Thursday. Take care.

Happy Monday right back at ya! I hope your son is enjoying his college tour. Mine is just so undecided right now. He takes the ACT on April 10th for the first time. Some of his friend have already taken it twice. I guess we really have to start getting serious about this. His spring break is next week.

Have a good one,

No Soul Food Sunday . . .

Sunday, March 28, 2010

So Sunday dinner will have to be put on hold due to family outings. We have an infant who is being christened today, which I can't make it but I will get there to the family bbq which I will hopefully find one lone piece of grilled chicken breast with some broccoli to boot. I did cook Spaghetti last week & I picked up some chicken thighs & salmon which I will try after my workout to cook. Thankfully chicken can basically cook on their own in the oven & salmon only takes about 18-23 minutes baking as well. So I pray someone else will hold up the blood stain banner & cook a feast worthy for Palm Sunday! What good food ideas do you guys have for Resurrection Sunday?!

Hosanna in the Highest!

God bless!

I have declared Sundays my 'me day' - not that it is working the best - lol.

The first Sunday it worked well. Last Sunday, I made Kenyon his lasagna. Today, I prepped all kinds of food but for dinner, Kenyon is making wings and french fries - not the healthiest but hey - I'm not cooking emoticon Portion control always works for me.

Have a wonderful week Dee.

Spring Break . . . .

Saturday, March 27, 2010

So its spring break for my kids here in Chicago. My oldest son Tre is going on a college tour in Mississippi, Louisiana, Missouri & Arkansas. My youngest will be going on field trips daily with his after school program so they will be busy. I am prayerful for all parents who have kids out of school during spring breaks because even though its a time filled with memories of bike riding, day trips, watching tv or playing ball, danger is every present. So I want to remind you all to remember & be watchful of our children. These are very fast paced times & we must keep them in our prayers daily. Amen.

God bless & Happy Saturday!

Anyone doing anything interesting with your kids for spring break?

Well there's no Spring break around here for my kids. They have a snow makeup day so I think they only have one or two days off for Easter. I'm still deciding whether to take Friday off or not.

Happy Saturday to you too. Prayers for our children and this time and year round!!!

So true. And, let's not cover up challenges through positive platitudes! Everything has the potential to point us in the right direction for healing which is the only true goal.

Fretting is lack of faith. Postitive thinking is a band aid used to cover up what motivates us to change to begin with.
