Blasting that Cold Straight to . . .

Never Neverland!! LOL

I would like to thank all of you who thought of me, Stephanie, Claire, Anne, Deb, Roz & Arthur to name a few you guys are the best!! Just so all your thoughts & deeds wouldn't go unnoticed I got up early, whispered some prayers of thanksgiving & praise, then off to my workout. I broke it up & this is what I did 50mins of yoga,

Not that fancy! LOL

30mins of Jillian Boost Metabolism,

75mins of walking & jogging

30mins of abs.
Well before you get to upset with me, I went home last night & rested my body cause I just couldn't do anything. Today, I felt so rejuvenated that I got up & took it really slow. My cold is still in my head but I am eating good food & drinking plenty of liquids. I think I should be ALL clear by Sunday!! No complaints from ME!

Today I celebrate this day & each of you!

Blessings,

Dee

Recovering. . .

Thursday, October 01, 2009

So to all my Sparkbuddies who hope my neck would feel better, I was coming down with a cold. So this is not quite the correct depiction of me today, it was last night:

LOL
I love to make people smile & most times I simply walk through my day smiling to myself because I'm cracking myself up!

Now after my pilates & yoga sessions are over, I'm laying down with some nyquil.

Blessing & take care! Enjoy EVERYDAY!

Dee

It's HUMP Day! Cause for Celebration . .

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Good Day Sparkfriends! I was thinking of how awesome today was & I just wanted to share this poem with you & a song too!

S L O W D A N C E:

Have you ever watched kids
on a merry-go-round
Or listened to the rain
slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic
flight
Or gazed at the sun into the fading
night?

You better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Do you run through each day on the
fly
When you ask "How are you?"
do you hear the reply?

When the day is done,
do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
running through your head?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow
And in your haste, not see his
sorrow?

Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
'Cause you never had time
to call and say "Hi"?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting
there.
When you worry and hurry through your
day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away...

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

So enjoy EVERYDAY! I know we all have our moments but some times there is nothing we can do about them. So try to rest easy when you can & CELEBRATE!!

Sunday Sunday

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Every Friday is a cause for the majority of us to celebrate but I find that everyday is or should be a cause to celebrate! I enjoy Sunday because I get to cook healthy food & the food choices of my family & combine them to make them all happy! Today, I cooked ribeye steak, chicken breast, chicken thighs, broccoli, twice baked potatoes & spaghetti & meatballs.

I know what you're sayin, "Why on earth are you cooking all that food for?" Well, I found that I now I cook enough so that we have food Sunday, Monday & Tuesday & maybe stretch it to Wednesday. I only desire to turn the stove on twice a week & Sunday & maybe Wednesday are all I got. I some times make them tacos or fries or bring home take out. Even before the recession started I cut back on McDonalds & Burger King & became Queen of the Kitchen!

Now my kids call me at work & ask what am I cooking & can I cook them this or that. That is so amazing to me because my mom did cook all the time & I didn't have a happy meal until I was a teenager. I know this is shocking but most of my weight came after the birth of my 2 youngest sons. Men, they want it all & they get it! LOL I find that Sunday dinners are such a great time for us to come together after a day of worship service & hang out & have fun. I hope you all have a tradition or you should start one?! In any event, Happy Sunday, go forth & embrace the upcoming week!
Remember to dance

we always have sunday dinners - i don't cook for the week but i do clean and season my chicken (or whatever the meat that week is) so that all i have to do is take it out and cook it.

mcdonalds was a treat when i was growing up. we had it maybe a few times in the summer on the way back from some road trip. my parents were more into something like a real dinner so more often we'd have kfc.

memories...

i have always loved the idea of sunday dinners & am jealous of families that have those big sunday dinners after church. my grandma used to do that but by the time i came along she didn't live nearby.

nowadays, my family still isn't too nearby but i'd like to start some sort of tradition...even if it's just something *i* do on my own...a little "cc tradition"

great blog, dee!!! mwah emoticon

Sunday is our one day we are almost always together - yesterday that was not the case emoticon I did cook three different things. One of those meals we will be having this evening when we will all be together emoticon You never know around our house. I usually do alot of cooking in a few hours on Sunday so all I have to do is put in on to warm up during the week - a great time saver!!!

Have a wonderful week!!!! emoticon

Great blog - It's only me & the cat, but I cook ALOT on Sunday myself. Then I can have lunches & dinner for the rest of the week!! It's my way to really relax & I'm a great cook.
Today I made grilled chicken, pork w/cabbage & peaches, & veal piccata, & saltimbocca.
Got my blueberries, strawberries & pineapple all frozen. I'm good to go.
Now it's time for a little TV - Miss Honey loves the animal channel & off to bed. Need to be up at 3:30am workout time is 4:30 Hugs!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Great blog! I like to cook and eat a family dinner on Sunday after church also. It is the one day we are all at home at the same time for a sit down meal. I cooked baked chicken, cauliflower and reheated an African fried rice we had from yesterday. Made some ice tea for drinks. No dessert today. But I made some wheat and dairy free muffins - high fiber and little sugar - kids won't eat them but I froze them for me. I enjoyed your page. Thanks for the comment on my blog. See ya later!
