Dance. I love being silly & dancing & I love this song, so I thought I'd share. Enjoy Life!

    i didn't recognize the lyrics so i googled "i hope you dance song" then went to the you tube link result to watch the video. i love that song but had never known the name or the singer. thank you for solving the mystery!!!

Card board Box Treats . . .

So I picked this up these up at Walgreens for $0.99 cent & they were actually pretty decent. The nutritional facts are these:
Servings 5pieces
Servings per container 2.5
Calories 130 Calories from fat 50
Cholesterol 10mg
Sodium 100mg
Total Carbs 16g
Dietary Fiber 2g
Sugar 8g
Protein 3g

I had them last night as a snack with water & I was pretty satisfied. I know that I did weigh the pros & cons of eating them but I mean I could've done worst. How? Eating chocolate chip cookies, 2 mini kit kat bars or some ice cream. Oh they sale them at Walgreens & that's everywhere so if you are looking for something quick. Go down the snack isle & pick these up with some cashews & sunflower seed kernels both $0.99 cent. Happy Snacking!

    This blog reminded me of an application that I have on my iPhone. it's called
"Cool Facts"

anyway, the other day one of the cool facts that came up was the fact that the box of corn flakes has MORE nutritional value than the contents of the box. Tells us a lot about what we eat, HUH!

Happy Friday SparkFriends!! My important announcement for today is to get sparked! I know we some times wan on the importance of our health do to our busy family life, schedules, lives & hectic schedules. But our health is just as important to all those facets of our lives. Me & my hubby took a trip to Las Vegas some time ago & we were on the plane & the stewardess ask who should we help first, in event of an emergency? Save our self first or the life of our loved one? Of course, we would all try to help our loved one first. But if they are younger or weaker, then we put both our lives at risk. We need to focus of course on ourselves so that we can be a life vessel for them in the future. Do it to look good or feel better about yourself but remember you extend your life when you opt to choose your health.

    Celebrate Life - I try to do this on a daily basis. Some days it seems like the days run into each other but I try to make the most of each. Surrounding myself with positive people is very important to me. Being strong in mind and body and an important part of 'saving' ourselves in many situations.

Beauty Rest. . .

Hello emoticon emoticons!

We always talk about getting enough of the proper nutrients, water & exercise. Remember to also get plenty of rest which is vital to our weight loss success. Did you know that you actively burn calories while you sleep? While asleep you could burn probably up to 75 calories asleep, average girl, probably around the same from what I have heard you burn more fat when sleeping then you do just sitting awake in one place which is one of the reason (outside of trips to the bathroom) we are waken up in the middle of the night from a sound sleep. Make sure you are getting 7-8 hours of emoticon or rest those tired eyes emoticon every now & then emoticon.

Do We Really Deserve . . .

So I've worked out really hard & what snack or meal do I reach for? I eat my proteins, carbs & fats but then I decide I've worked so strongly & hard that I deserve bag of chips, or that soda. How hard did I really work? Did I burn enough calories to eat the bag of chips & 16oz of soda at over 500+ calories?! I know how hard I have to work but do YOU know how long you would have to work out to burn off those calories?
Let's see how it would work for me:
Aerobics, Step: 6" - 8" step for 45mins

Weight Lifting: Vigorous, free weight, nautilus or universal-type 65mins

Boxing: sparring
60mins
Walk: 5 mph (12 min/mi)
70mins
Running: 6.7 mph (9 min/mile)
60mins

Now, this is not to say that I don't enjoy most of my workouts but would I want to waste my energy on burning calories of high fat, high carb foods? Or would I feel accomplished by eating to live & not living to eat!


Remember get your daily lean cuts of proteins, omega 3 fats & the good carbs. Not say we can't reward ourselves every now & then. Totally remember this, once on the lips forever on the hips!

    I love this blog. What a great attitude. I knowthis same concept kept me from eating things I shouldn't countless times. I knew it would take me X amount of time to burn those UNWANTED calories off - NO THANKS!!!!!
