This is the day.....

Sunday, October 06, 2013

This is the day that the Lord has made Sparkfam rejoice & be glad in it!!!! I have been up since the dog needed to go outside. Everybody played forgetful & now I am paying the price. It's now time for me to start getting ready for church. I am praying for energy but I know service will be very uplifting and I will receive what I need to be a help to those whom I come in contact with.

Had cookies while I sparked then had a banana and roasted sunflower seed kernels. I didn't eat the whole bag but I did eat a row & some...lol Now a big breakfast is not what I need but I do need some cereal and then off we go...

Tonight I am trying for step aerobics & maybe a few minutes of boot camp. I pray you guys are getting some healthy foods down with the other filling foods...lol

God bless & embrace this day & everyday!

Love, hugs & kisses!!

It was a GREAT Sunday! I had peanut butter cookies on Sunday. Just made a few and been eating them off little by little. They are healthier than most. I had a vegetable packed dinner and Tilapia. Wanted cornbread to go with my black eye peas but my son didn't get back with the butter milk until BEDTIME lol.

I enjoyed both of our Services 9 and 11 am. The WORD is so POWERFUL! Thanks for sharing and I know you had a BLESSED Sunday!
Love & Blessings!

Eat Some Now......

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Or if you eat it all you WILL pay for it later. So I am preparing my body for the winter this is the best time for me mentally & physically to lose weight & tone up. During the summer there is too much running around and those are my lazy days. Well my lazy days have paid off, I got a thicker thigh, I got misshaped hips and my jeans don't fit. What does that tell me, I should kept busy moving and shaking which I did a little but having a new born grand baby didn't help. Since I am the primary care giver. lol

Family update: My daughter is doing alright at her job at AAA & hubs is still at United working hard. My oldest son is doing fine at Walgreens, my youngest son is actually doing really well at his new school too. My oldest grandson needs to be sent to a very private school he has been reading since he was 3years. Old granny here got him "your baby can read." Guess what after watching it religiously with his mom he sure can. Not only that he understands but he just needs to be pushed by something that interest him. He is doing work that he was doing in daycare I don't want him to revert...UGH!!

Today at work, we had food lovers feast & dream:

We had hamburgers, onion rings, hot dogs, chicken & steak tacos, gyros, italian beefs, chips, carrot cake, brownie & for breakfast we had french toast. I mean, that toast is so fluffy I saved a bit of room for it. I'm full from a small bowl of cereal, half piece of french toast, a hot dog & a half a taco. Yes that's a lot spread over the day I'm satisfied but I don't feel gluttonous. Tonight, I will have a salad and half a pb&j because I had breakfast like a king, lunch like a queen & dinner like a pauper. lol

I got in a great 1hour walk & boot camp yesterday. Then did some walking around the office. Blood pressure was in a decent state but not where I would like it to be. Later tonight, I'm trying for a boost walk with Leslie on youtube.com and possible Tae Bo joint after that. I want to work up a good sweat to feel like what I ate now, I won't be paying for it later. I would like to really get with the eating to live AND not living to eat. Which if you are a foodie or connoisseur of fine food you know that tasting food and devouring food are two totally different things to do.

Would like to send shouts out to a few of my inspirations, Deb & Vic. You guys are my focal points of inspiration. Now I didn't list everyone but you guys know who you are if you read this blog. Thank you so much & my family thanks you too!

God bless & enjoy everyday!

Physicians Assistant......

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

I read this and found it to be like the old saying, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." So I say be the best physicians assistant that you can be for your temple/body that you can. I believe God is my physician & everything that I need in life. So by pass some of the treats try to walk a little every day & when you can make it a 30mins cardio fest.

Invest in yourself who knows how many more days we add to our lives? In case, we are prematurely taken in the primes of our lives at least we know in our hearts of hearts that we gave it the good ole girl/boy try. Laugh a little it helps....

Today, I am going to do (2) 10min video workouts on my breaks. I did walk for 20mins already & see if my grandson will allow granny to get up on that old dreadmill. I did have a banana, an instant cheese toast, some cranraisins & some almond slivers will be later with my baked chicken & broccoli. Going to enjoy the journey cause I've had all the treats! LMBO

God bless & be encouraged!!

Good for you, Dee! I hope your grandbaby cooperates! Let's do serve God & ourselves as physicians' assistants.

I'm having company for dinner tonight, but right now I'm off to do my cardio/strength routine--it always makes me sweat copiously--& shower & then get the burgers ready to put on the grill. Feeling pretty good because to celebrate my cousin's birthday (the occasion of our dinner) I made a berry-banana sorbet using a Sparkrecipe; it's really low in calories & will taste SO good on this kinda steamy day.

O Happy Day....

Good Day Sparkfam!

It's a gorgeous day here in Chicago, my perfect nap day but I ain't got "no" time for that...lol It's been such a busy few weeks that the summer got away before we had a chance to do vacation. Oh well, we will have to try to piece our schedules together to make something happen. Since both my sons the older one junior in College & the younger a junior in high school. My daughter is working major over time so hopefully we will be able to break free for at least a weekend to just relax & enjoy time away from the city. We usually get away from to the country but we have been pretty busy....

Update, oldest son is doing so much better he has a nasty scar on his arm from the surgery but he actually got hired at Walgreens in his college town. WOOHOO!! Momma need a new pair of shoes & can she borrow a coupla dollars. No but at least my years of funding him all the way are hopefully coming to an end. No such luck....ugh!

So I got my grandson later tonight and his dad will pick him up from daycare tomorrow. He is getting so big and so happy but he is very particular of whom should be holding him....lol His dad & even me & his mom included. I call him Jump Jump Baby cause he like to jump & he also jump from arm to arm. He is so blessed to be the only baby around for all us none child bearing people that we do exactly that.....lol

Tonight I hope to engage him in some jumping around & get 30mins of walking or kickboxing.... Momma need to get back into her zone which normally works better for me during the fall/winter months. How are you guys doing? I pray all is well for you all as you have kept up with me. I am so blessed to have you all be part of my life....

God bless & enjoy EVERYDAY!!

Yeah, I see why you've had NO time to meet up with me this summer & are even finding it hard to get in your usual hours of exercise! Those grandbabies are only little for a short time, & we've gotta take all the time with them we can get . . . even if sometimes they don't really want our attention, heehee! I had a fantastic time with my little Bea this past weekend, so I'm floating on air even though today it was back to the grind.

So glad to hear the surgery has been successful & your son is able to work again. Praise God! Now I hope you all can find a good weekend to get away & rest & laugh a lot!

To Eating Better

Sunday, August 11, 2013

Good Sunday Sparkfam! Its a beautiful day here in Chicago 80s today & we just got a nice misting. I know in the south you can fry an egg but cooler temps are on the way believe that. So I'm trying to add some healthier foods & snacks since I've been a picky eater since I can remember. So hubs likes the wonderful salad creations so I tried my first almonds on purpose. They also had cranraisins in it too. Its like eating slithers of cardboard with canraisins. So broccoli check almonds check but NO to asparagus & cauliflour but I'm still young & if I can conquer a handfuls of almonds I have got to get ready for me some asparagus. Yuk!

In other news, my son's arm requires minor surgery to place a pin in his elbow. The surgery is set for Tuesday & I welcome your prayers & warm thoughts. He wants to still start his junior year of college. So of course I'm the bad guy cause I want him to heal properly. Thank goodness for insurance but I'm still out of pocket $1000 which they want day of surgery......ugh! Will call them tomorrow to see if they can cut that in half I pray so or son will sit this semester out or live in his car.....lbvs

Trying to get in 30minutes of cardio tonight need to do my hair and get my back rubbed too. Good night Angels, sweet dreams & thank you all for listening to me blather on & on......

God bless & embrace everyday!

Dee

    emoticon Hello Dee!
I hope everything went well on the surgery. Rapid Healing in Jesus' Name. God's Power don't cost a thang! In this world's system they want money NOW and don't care if you have it or not. That's one reason I do not like to go t a doctor. But I'm not even gong there. Your new adventure with food sounds exciting. I tried Asparagus for the first time a few years ago and decided I like it. It took trial and error to get it just right. Almond butter is what I prefer instead of the almonds themselves. Especially the raw ones. I eat cashews, peanuts, walnuts and sunflower kernels more often then almonds. You'll find something that makes your taste buds happy and body healthier. I'm praying for you all. Thank you for Sparking by! Just love my baby girl even though she's 26. Hard to let them both grow up. My son is 23 and we live together and WOW lol. Mama don't wanna let go. Plus he looks like he's still in HS. Where did those genes come from?
Love you sis and God's Many Blessings Upon You and Yours!
