I'm on day 7. Today is my DD..Keeping it at a very minimum. Wanted to water fast again, but I got a little lightheaded with exercise, so I decide to have an energy bar.

I couldn't be happier though..YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Yessss..I did it. First WF ever and I'm feeling good. I kinda wanna do it another day, but don't want to go on overkill. So I'll stick to my UD tomorrow and another fast on Saturday. Woop woop!

Small victories make me happyyyy.

First Up Day today.

I've done ok. Not great..but ok. Gotta be much more strict on myself in the evenings..thats my downfall. Hunger kicks in bigtime then. I'll get there though! I am determined.

I'm doing my first water fast tomorrow. Wish me luck!

So I made it.

My first DD was a success. I stayed under 500 cals and still managed to stay alive! lol

I'm on my first UD now, and I'm now not very hungry. I had a banana for breakfast with a little bit of pb. I have an addiction to those 2 things, *sigh*.

I'll keep track today to see how I do.

The crappy thing though, is that I don't have a scale right now. Argh! I may not for a couple of weeks. So this will be fun....

    1700-1705 cal's is your allowance, depending on exact age, but that's before figuring in activity level, so it will be higher than that. The book says there is an online calculator for it at www.AlternateDayDIet.com.

    I actually don't know my calorie allowance for up days..I will pm you my measurements. Thanks so much.

Also, yes, I got my SW from the doctor but that was in July back when I went for a physical needed for my Residence Permit.

So it's been a while! I just try to use how i feel and how my clothes feel as a measurement haha.

    Do you know your calorie allowance for UP days? Let me know if you need the equation, since you don't have the book.

Did you get your start weight by weighing somewhere? Besides that, you're better off without a scale--you don't have to see the seesawing day by day.

    Good for you. A lot of people fear eating too little but this is a scientific way of eating that has been proven to improve your health. Read my blog on my spark page. I am living proof of how much better I feel when I eat less. It's too bad you don't have a scale. You're doing great! emoticon emoticon

Alright so my life has been a total roller coaster lately!

I'm now living in a completely different country..and trying to cope with the culture shock.

I discovered Johnsons Up Day Down Day diet and I really want to give this a go. I haven't been on many *official* diets before, so this will be interesting.

I like the sound of this one..because I want to incorporate fasting and healthy choices into my lifestyle.

Sounds good anyway, eh?

My daily notes so far:

Alternate day dieting..

August 31st, 2009

Beginning..oh boy.

Website calculator says my Up days = 2351 and Down days = 470.

Starting weight approx 196 lbs (that was last month at the dr) I don't have a scale yet
so I can't keep proper track. But I'll get a head start on dieting and maybe surprise myself later on when we get a scale.

8/31 - Down day. Or discovery day, rather.

6pm:
Lots of water.
4 crackers total so far. (had a slight stomach virus thing..not trying to starve myself, honest)
168 calories

Dinner:
Sprite 150 (I never drink soda..don't know why I indulged this time..but whatever)

Kfc = 700 or so.

Gonna be impossible to do this when I can't cook my own meals yet. =/
living with in-laws at the moment and in a foreign country...fun

Total 1018

9/1 - Down day take 2 (Official day 1)

8:30 am - had my vitamins and water. Off we go..

9:40 am - medium sized banana 108 cals
Study study study

Went to the store..walked a little bit. Paid bills (that's always stressful, maybe I burned some cals then lol)

11:40 am - granola energy bar 176 cals

Total so far: 284

Still feeling ok. I smell chicken curry and it's so annoyingly wonderful smelling. Argh.
Hang in there, girl. Loose jeans will feel better than that smell!

Rejoined Spark People. That will help. There's a team thread there for this diet. YESSSS!!

God, I'm hungry.

Study study.
Got a nursing exam coming up. It's not over a chapter, or even a few chapters. It's over a whole entire textbook. Yes, I'm that crazy!

    I have had three down days now and honestly they get crazy easy. I drink tons of water. Today I didn't even think about food until 2pm. Not bad since I couldn't go a couple of hours without thinking I was hungry:-) Good luck!
