Another BL Challenge is under way!!! Day 1

Well today was a great day and this weekend is looking promising. I finally have a gym partner and he has kept me motivated....my hubby!! We hit the gym today and worked out for an hour while the kids were at their school movie night. Together Nick and I have decided to spend our weekends at the gym instead of lying around the house doing nothing. The kids get to swim on the weekends so he and I rotate who gets to workout. He works out for an hour and then I do and so on. I hope that I can keep this momentum up. This month should be great for sure but next month will definitely be a challenge because my classes start up again. I am getting so frustrated with my weight though and I know that I need to workout more and eat better in order to meet my goals. I hope to meet a few team members that can inspire me and push me towards reaching these goals. My weight goal for this challenge is to get down to 205. That is a very heavy goal I know but I plan on leaving it all in the gym! GO REDS!!!

Bye Bye Spanx!!

It has been such a long time since I have blogged and I thought that a decision I made recently was worth sharing...

As I had gained weight I did not feel comfortable in my skin or my clothes. Clothing never quite fit like I wanted it too so to mnake myself feel a bit better I invested in some spanx (shapewear, girdle, etc.) WELL although they lifted me up when I was down, no pun intended, I feel like those darn things have disguised the goal I should be attaining. I don't want to wear those damn things for the rest of my life! They are just a temporary fix, a bandaid. SO...I threw them all out!!!! NO MORE SPANX for me!! I have mixed feelings about my decision only because some days I just really want to look slimmer but ya know, I need to make myself feel like that. Since I have thrown them out I am more aware of my body and the work that needs to be done.

So who wants to join me in this huh? Throw them out the window, oh okay, in the trash can. No one wants to see your knickers :) You will feel better knowing that you are not being deceived!

    I don't know emoticon. I have had to go the other way in my thinking due to the fact that the more I let it all hang out,the more it didn't want to go back in, lol. I use this stuff called "Sweet Sweat" and I put in on everyday now, and put on a waist workout band, and the spanx over it and it helps sweet all the excess fat off of my waist. It's a secret I had learned years ago from small waisted friends, with very nice curves. So at least if I gain weight it does not settle on my waist. And I have found that when I don't use anything my waist starts to expand, and it's not just using the sweet sweat, it's using the spanx also. I guess it reminds me to use my waist muscles,and make's me know when I am relaxing too much. What do you think? LOL emoticon

It's a kind of fake it, till you make it kind of thang.

    I tried those torture devices on once and thought I might have to be cut out of them in the store! LMAO! I decided I'd rather be comfy, breathe easily, and allow circulation over looking slightly more compressed but still fat, cos hey, they only so so much anyway! emoticon I have a sneaking suspicion a man invented them. emoticon

  I agree completely, whenever I where them I can't help but feel like I am lying to myself and others about what I look like and in a way about who I am. I think I should be able to feel beautiful and thin on my own and how can I do that when it feels like I am lying. It doesn't help though, when you go shopping with other people and they say "oh that looks great but would look better with the spanx" This is something my mother does and it just makes me boil. So I agree a say no to spanx!

Week 2 Recap

Well it has been a bad couple of weeks as far as my health goes. During Week 1 I was sick with what I thought was the flu. During Week 2 I started out pretty strong but as you can tell my exercise and tracking came to an abrupt stop. I had to go to urgent care because I was having trouble breathing and my glands were swollen to the point of excrutiating pain! Turns out I had a bad case of Strep. I am on my last day of antibiotics and still not feeling up to par so I am sure the doctor will have to give me more. So that is what's been going on in my life the past week. I hope the rest of you are super healthy and achieving your goals!!! I will be praying for a better, healthier week this week. emoticon

Summer Slimdown Week 1

Well overall I think this week has been good. I started tracking all my food and exercise again and exercised pretty hard this week until just a couple days ago. My house has been hit by a sickly bug! I found myself too weak to do anything the last couple of days so today I am trying to play catch up. Although I have not weighed myself yet I feel pretty confident that I have lost at least 1-2 pounds. I hope that this next week will be better. It can't really get any worse than getting little to no sleep, having kids running fevers and everyone with sore throats and aches, lol. I can't wait to share my progress with you!

Started p90x with my husband!

Today I completed day 3 of p90x. After the first day I was so sore but I have kept up with it. P90X is so hard but in just a few minutes my heart rate is up and I am sweating. Wish me luck on this new workout. I have many friends that have done this program and they totally transformed themselves. It is no walk in the park, it is painful, exhausting, etc. BUT to get the results that I am looking to achieve I have to WORK HARD!! I am so glad to have my husband doing this with me too. He has always supported me in this lifestyle change but it makes me so happy to know that he wants to do the same. Plus we will be able to see each other changing and get motivation that way as well.

    Wish you all the best and much success with P90X... I am starting my 7th week of my third cycle of P90X - I love it! I have lost nearly 80 lbs with the help of P90X. Just DO YOUR BEST!! I replace pull ups with the resistance bands

    I'm so jealous! My boyfriend got this workout but he refuses to try it! He says we can't do pull ups so we shouldn't attempt to do P90X.
He also said it's for people who are more in shape than we are. I wanted to try it though.
