Dr Appointment results

well my AIC is 9.1 cholesterol is high (which I'm not really understanding cause even with lossing about 30lbs+ nothing's changed and some numbers even have gone up!) The only thing I did understand on the letter is Diagnosis Diabetes - Final really not sure what/how to react on this one (so tired of the meds etc, Just going to try and keep lossing weight and hope for the best in 3 months when I go for my next AIC testing. About all I can do anymore

  They told you by letter that you were diabetic?!?! When they told my hubby, they called him in to give him the results.

We were sent to a diabetes training which included a visit to a nutrionist. That really helped me to plan meals. I spent a lot of time at the grocery store, reading lables, finding the brand with the least amount of carbs. It amazes me how the amount of carbs can vary between brands!

I totally get how you feel. I try to do the right thing, but my cholestrol numbers keep going up. This time I was told to eat a low cholestrol diet. Plus a high fiber diet. I added cholestrol to my tracker & I'm not eating that much cholestrol. I haven't changed my eating habits.

Sometimes, it's frustrating to balance everything!

    If you're diagnosed with diabetes you really need to contact your doctor and see if a change in your medication is needed. Have you seen a dietician that specializes in diabetes? That can really help you with food choices and planning what and when to eat to stabilize your blood sugar. My husband is a diabetic and seeing the specialist really helped me with meal planning. He doesn't have to avoid food, but does need to be very careful of portion sizes and how much in a day to eat of certain foods. For example, he knows if he has a small order of french fries he nees to cut back on the bread and or rolls for the day as this would be too many carbs. It's a matter of what he wants more that day. Be sure to eat a high fiber diet, that really helps as well. You've done awesome with losing 30+ pounds! Not all medical issues are related to weight, some are hereditary and others have no reason at all. It's important that you take control of your health and know what you're dealing with. Call the doctor and make sure that you understand all your test results and how they affect you. emoticon

Oh Gosh what a week :(

Well the last week started off great - moved to a new project (which is always good) went to the eye doctor (little change in the sight to warrant new glasses but not a big deal) down another 1 lb (which is always great) than Wednesday came - I go play BINGO (nice relaxation for me) won free player for the whole night (awesome right) even went home with more money than I walked in with! Get home about midnight - the hubby is not there (which he usually goes to his friends house when I'm @ Bingo so no worry) 3:30 a.m. comes around still no show and phone is shut off (um now I know something is wrong) which there was he ended up being pulled over for a faulty tailight (someone backed into his truck and cracked it - lord knows where/when this happened) and they smelled beer on him so gave him a ride downtown (ended up in ER cause his bp was too high - than was nicely escorted back to county) gave him a breathlizer sometime during all this and blew a 0.007 still gave him a DWI like really legal limit is 0.08 so 0.007 is way below the limit (right) ok he get's OR'd out since it wasn't a serious offense they say and than we get the call a great friend was shot to death on Wednesday too! And than we get another call our best friend for over 15 years sister passed away also! And now my daughter has taken off with the grandkids again :( oh in the meantime our 13 year old Boston Terrier was attacked by a pit and was killed too (all this within 10 days) can you say calgon take me away??? Oh and still haven't really gained or lost weight.

Dr. Appointment

Ok I'm about to schedule a dr. appointment I've missed like 2/3 since the 1st of the year - need a full check up diabetes/bp and all else the ills me now that I'm down under 190lb (last year this time I was about 220 I want to see if my stats change and if they haven't something is definetly wrong wouldn't you think? Not going to let it or anything else get me down the over the next month or so I'll be going through some depressing time and I'll most likely be posting alot more blog (so please pay no attention to my ranting) it's going on a year since I lost both mom & dad and there are so many unsettled things still driving me absoolutelty nuts!

I did everything right this last week and only had a 2lb loss emoticon I went above & beyond my normal exercise routine and all. I know I should be excited about the 2 lb's but as sore n worn out as this body feel I just wish it could've been 3-5 instead.
Looks like it's back to the emoticon for me. So want to be under 190 next Friday. emoticon

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed (I guess) cause I have no ambition to exercise at all (or eat right) I even stopped @ the convence store and got (yep you guessed it) junk food emoticon I was honest and scheduled them on my meal plan but deep down I know it's not the healthiest choice ( emoticon ) well see if I actually eat it before the day is over.
On a brighter note I did at least do my push ups and crunches this morning so I just need to get up off my hiney and walk!!!! emoticon I'm still not seeing much of a difference on the scale (well not as big of a miracle as I would like that is) but I can most definetly see it in my clothes down in 2 pairs of capris I brought last summer (or maybe the one before) and can wear them now! emoticon so I must be doing something right!!!!     I love that most convient stores now carry healthy options. i'll walk in wanting a taquito or a hot dog (barf) but after doing a circle realize there is awhole section of fresh fruit cups, 100 calorie nut packs, or even Special K bars. I might indulge by having all three but its still gonna be better than the hot ham and cheese. Baby steps.

    Congratulations on being able to wear your capris! You are suceeding! To eat or not eat the junk food depends on you? But if you decide to eat it that does not mean you have to go on a food fest! You want to stay in your capris unless you need some smaller one's, of course!
