Wonderful! Congrats! Don't tell my dog, but cats are AMAZING! I love my 3 girls, but be careful, I have noticed that cats are like potato chips, it's hard to stop at just one!

How wonderful! I can't have a pet where I live now but I'm happy that my friends share theirs.

New Picture

Friday, July 15, 2011

I've been having a great summer so far. So many calories I shouldn't have eaten but so much fun doing it. I've been going to family parties and barbecues for a month. Fortunately I haven't gained any weight, just slowed down my loss. Still it is great to see so many people I love.

One of our friends invited us to a barbecue at her house and we saw some couples we haven't seen in 10 years. Jimmy looked terrible, he just had a quintuple by pass. It is strange getting old. I'm only in my sixties and I'm losing family and friends. My niece died a couple of months ago. She was only 23.

It is times like these that makes you appreciate what you have. My new picture is me and my family. We are attending my Aunt and Uncles 60th wedding anniversary. It was awesome. My cousin who was their flower girl and I (I was only 2 when they were married) were the only ones at the party who had attended their wedding.

Joy, loss, memories and life.

I can't wait to go home and spend those two weeks with family I haven't seen them in 11 years!
And to your comment on my blog today. I knew exactly what you meant when you said he'd go all caveman. I have one here too LOL But he's never balked about what ever I cook him for his meals. When it comes to salad he won't eat the mixed fruit and vegetable but he will eat straight vegetable or straight fruit So I just serve them separate on his plate before I mix them together for myself, and he gets them both anyway. The psychological games you have to play with them sometimes LOL But it works.
Another thing is bread. He loves home made but the bread I've been making lately he turns his nose up at because it isn't made with white flour S the one day I'll bake bread using white flour but I add in the bran, , red river cereal, and sunflower seeds and he'll eat it!t Whereas mine is made with wholewheat with all the same ingredients plus blackstrap molasses.
There is a bread Demsters has it;s Organic ancient grains. He'll eat it hand over fist. So I looked at the ingredients, and between the health food store and grocery store I compiled the ingredients. It too is made with what I already put in mine but ad splet and a quanio (sp) And I made it. So now he had the exact same bread without the additives and preservatives. HE WILL NOT EAT IT! MEN! Talk about exasperating! So it's in the freezer and I guess I have bread for six months LOL

A Little Late

Thursday, May 05, 2011

I've been on this site for about a month but never got started. I've just been doing my own thing and living on the kind words and encouragement I get here. Today I did it. I've taken the plunge and have a blog.

I don't really want one. Seems sort of stupid to me. What do I need it for? But I'll go with the program.

The program seems to work.

I haven't started to blog yet. I guess because I'm not really sure where/how to begin. One day though I will. I'm glad you took the plunge! emoticon

I never, ever used to blog. I didn't see the point! But since I started i have found it a very useful tool - either if you are looking for help or just looking for a place to release. Its your space to do with as you wish.

Good luck on your journey, enjoy every little step!

I have just started on this program myself (4/25 but really 5/2). I have never had a blog before. Like you I was a little unsure if this would work or if I needed it at all.
I really like the nutrition tracker, I don't use other trackers. I visit other peoples' blogs and take inspiration from their weight loss etc.
It helps me create some kind of a structure. I weigh-in weekly. I hope it will work for me in a long run.
People here are friendly and supportive. Try it.

The program does work, but you don't have to use all of the tools if you don't want to. Try the blog for a little while, if you feel that you still don't like it, that's fine, you don't have to keep one. I personally love my blog, but that's because it works for me. This is your journey, so choose the tools that work for you!
