Keeping on as best I can!

Thursday, April 29, 2010

Well, it's a good thing that I've read some of Peter Welsh's book "Does this Clutter Make my Butt Look Fat?" He says if we purge our clutter, we find it easier to lose weight! SO, since I'm not always getting my cardio workouts each day, I have to be burning calories hauling / shifting/ sorting through 'stuff' and I feel 'lighter' just by getting organized and purging this 'stuff' !!! So I'm holding a vision of a clean, organized house and keep on keeping on! Will see how the weigh scale looks at the end of it all...

Right now, back to work!

Congratulations on tacking clutter. I tend to be organized although I have to revisit closets, drawers, etc about twice a year. I don't put "everything in its place on a day to day basis. I always have found that I can get more accomplished when I am in an organized environment. Also I really live lists to things to do.

I hope all the work makes the scales go down.

I'm so pleased that I made it through a very busy, physically challenging day. We arrived home on Saturday to complete chaos and all 3 floors of our home dusty from drywall dust. Yesterday, I worked along-side 2 other gals and we cleaned and organized the house again. I put on over 6000 of yesterday's 7557 steps in the house, lost track of how many times I went up and down the stairs. Lugged heavy things. Managed to drink lots of water, and kept my food intake in check too.

Today I feel stiff and a bit sore, but none the worse for the wear. A few months ago, I would never have been able to do what I did yesterday. Those strengthening & cardio workouts have made the difference in my core strength.

Now... time for breakfast and today's cardio workout!

Yes, and today, once I got started, I did 2 miles instead of 1 mile with Leslie Sansone. The trick is... to get started!!!

Lovin' New Orleans!

Monday, April 12, 2010

Finally got time to do some strength training today...only to have my exercise band break! LOL...perhaps it's a hint to skip the training and go enjoy the city! So, I'm off to find some lunch in the French Quarter, then walk around and enjoy the sites! Perhaps I'll do a cardio workout today, perhaps I won't?! If nothing else, I'm getting LOTs of steps on the pedometer this week!

A great start...with a soggy finish!

Wednesday, April 07, 2010

This morning, did my strength exercises, did 1 'ordinary' mile with Leslie Sansone, followed by 1 fast mile. Then after a short break decided to walk to the mall in the rain. Well, I don't mind getting wet, but lightning is something that I respect. So I turned around and came home when I saw the first flash. Two more flashes very close to me as I walked back to the house. And just as I got to the door (under the porch roof thank goodness!) it started to pour in buckets..which it is still doing.

So, I'll see what the weather is like this afternoon...might get to the mall yet today! In the meantime, gonna read a good book and meditate!

A Second Mile!

Tonight I decided to try for 2 miles with Leslie Sansone ... and I'm pleased that I finished the 2 miles (before I was finished! LOL!)
