Last night, my DH and I arrived at the hotel, checked in and headed back to a restaurant we went to last year (it's an annual conference).
The special I ordered was white fish, with steamed root veggies (beets, parsnips, yams, mushrooms) and ... asiago polenta 'fries' Now I have no idea how healthy these fries were, but they were baked, not fried and they were crispy and delicious. I may have to look for a recipe to try to recreate them at some point.
This morning at breakfast, I met a woman that I got to know several years ago at a reiki share I attended. It's so wonderful to connect with people who 'get' energy - could have chatted for longer, but she was getting ready to leave by the time we got there. Hope to see her again before conference is over!
While DH attends conference, I'm going to do a cardio workout and then head into town to start some Christmas shopping! The more I can get done before our upcoming trip to somewhere warm, the more I can relax when I get there, right? Then it's back to the room for a rest before it's time to 'dress up' for dinner.
Have a beautiful, sunny Thursday everyone!

Coming soon to a planetary theatre near you, one night only:
"Blue Moon" Sunday, November 21, 2010 Don't Miss It!!!
Yes, 'once in a blue moon' is happening this coming Sunday night!
Today has been busy - preparing for a meeting here tomorrow morning, healing work, and visiting my friend (a half hour's drive each way) who is housebound and at the moment, bedridden. A good day though... always great to see my friend and give her some Reiki Drumming! And today she did an oracle card reading too!
Tomorrow, the meeting in the morning; then a dental app't (kind of an emergency to reglue on a crown which fell off last Friday night during supper ... of course, we were eating out... how embarrassing!), and then I have to come home to pack for a 3 day trip with my DH!
BTW, my parents LOVED the recipe binder we gave them for their anniversary! On Wed, I'll be at their home (while DH is at work) and can type any further recipes they might want to add. And then it will be truly done! It was a lot of work, but nice keepsake for them and for their descendants!
Be well, everyone, for ALL IS WELL

Today I'm very thankful that Bruce "The Slowest Loser" has mentioned Reiki in his blog.
Reiki has changed my life. After I had my first session about 12 years ago, I immediately set about to find a teacher so I could learn to do it for myself and others too. It has been a wondrous journey, I've let so many old things go, I've grown and blossomed into a different person.
Along the way, I've learned several forms of Reiki, and become a master/teacher in many of these forms, so that I may teach others. If everyone on this planet learned and practiced level 1 reiki on themselves and their families what a different place this would be.
My personal favourite is Reiki Drumming (developed by Michael Baird in the US). The vibration of the drum opens the cells of the body very deeply, allowing the reiki energy to go deeper too.
If you haven't already experienced Reiki, I hope you'll seek out a reiki teacher/practitioner near you and just try one session. I'd love to hear about your experience!
This is a photo of me drumming over another class member at our Reiki Drumming course:

Well, not really. But I am being challenged today.
WARNING: Do not read on if you might develop a craving for baked goods.
And if you do read on, and develop this craving, I highly recommend www.eftuniverse.com to rid yourself of the craving!
My sisters and I have been typing up our mom's recipes. Today, I've been merging all the files together, organizing recipes by category, etc.
I had NO idea that typing recipes would make me so hungry! At times I have to fight the urge to go bake one of these delicious cakes and eat it....
However, so far, so good. I stop every 45-60 minutes, stretch, drink water, eat a few nuts or raisins, or some celery sticks. And I'm able to carry on!
I've finished merging and editting quick breads, cakes and desserts. Next up... cookies!
And I observe that most of the recipes we have from mom are for sweets of some sort. Hmmm... what's wrong with this picture?
Still, in the final scenario, it will be nice to have mom's recipes all in one place. For you see, her recipe book was lost years ago (when my parents moved). This will be a special keepsake not only for my parents and siblings, but also for our children and future generations of our family!
So, with that in mind, I carry on typing & editting.....and snacking healthy foods!

...today would be a day I'd do just that.
Started working on the bookkeeping for the year (only 6 months behind). I started with the 'easy' things to track... and have been off on goose chases finding the right papers. LOL!
But, hey, I'm eating really well today, and have already downed 5 glasses of water and 1 more cup of liquid in my lunch time soup! I feel good! I'm going to go outside for a quick walk in the sunshine and then I'm going back to the paper puzzling!
Have a happy Tuesday, everyone!!
