Made it to the gym! :)

Saturday, February 12, 2011

So here it is Saturday, and I don't normally go to the gym this day, but I thought, what the heck? I will go! I had to work last night (damn snow days!). An hour long on my elliptical will do the trick! (weigh in on Monday, have to make an effort to see the scale go down) emoticon

What a beautiful day it's going to be. Hoping we can do something with the kiddos, as we have been extremely busy, and then there's that darn cold stuff that's been running through my house! Kyle is feeling much better, so that makes me happy! :) We may try to take the kiddos bowling. That will be fun, and they have a blast!

I sure hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and can get out and enjoy some beautiful weather! emoticon

Woohoo, Friday! ;)

Friday, February 11, 2011

So, I made it to the gym yesterday, and worked out for an hour. Would've liked to have done an hour and a half, but I will take the hour! :) It flat wore me out! I slept all day, after I dropped off my kids! Guess I was glad I listened to my body, because I normally don't do that, even though I am a 3rd shifter and should. I actually feel human again! lol

My son was a trooper and went to school today. I think he was missing his friends. :) He will be staying at home with me Friday, as he has now started with the fever and just overall feeling yucky! :(

I hope you all have a awesome Friday! Get that workout in today, I like I plan to, and then maybe you can do some guilt-free relaxing over your weekend! :)

Can't believe it's Thursday already! :)

Shoveling, shoveling, shoveling! That's all I have seemed to do in the last couple of days! Whew! emoticon Glad that I am done, now I am going to let the sun do it's melting work in the next couple of days!

My son now looks like he is coming down with the little flu bug that went crazy at our house over the last snow days we had. He felt pretty yucky today. Hate that. My hubby also had a snow day today, so it was nice to have him home. I got to sleep, while he did arts and crafts with the kiddos! So lucky to have him. He told me the other day that what I'm losing, he's gaining. Whatever! That man doesn't know how to gain weight, his job is so physical. His metabolism is awesome, as he has a pretty big "midnight" sweet tooth. emoticon

I am now sitting in my workout clothes at work and I am going to the gym this morning, as I didn't get the chance to go yesterday (but shoveled snow), and it looks like I might be having a little one home with me today. I am GOING TO do 1 hour on the elliptical, and 30 min weight training. I gotta make up for not going to the gym the last 3 days. I have a love/hate relationship with this weather.

Hope you all have a Sparky spark day! emoticon

My mom and dad did a free health check up thing last weekend. Keep in mind my dad does NO exercise.... 16% body fat. How fair is that?!

Man! Is your husband one lucky guy! You're shoveling the snow!!! Way to go!

I shoveled yesterday for the 3rd time in 2 days. I am glad I did it on Tuesday twice! Yesterday I still had 4-6 inches to clear. Whew!

-16 below this morning on Thursday. Dang-A-Lang! Dingy Dong Daddy! That's cold. Some guy in Wichita went out early and threw water in the air and it turned to snow!!! I saw on the news or else I would not have believed it!

Snow...again??!!!

Wednesday, February 09, 2011

So, yesterday I felt REALLY sluggish, don't know if it was the weather, or the what. I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. I wished now, that I had ventured out into the snow, and worked out. I know that I would've felt a lot better. Today is a new day, and I know that if I don't get my workout in, I will feel so much like I did yesterday! So, I am at work at the moment(it's 1:43am), and I made sure that I brought my workout clothes..., so no excuses! I am going!! emoticon

Glad my kiddos don't have school today, because it's brutal outside. We had 2 foot snow drifts just in my driveway (had to shovel 2 times yesteday), and that wind, well it will kick your butt! So, hope everyone drives safely in this stuff. Give yourself time to get where you need to go! 215 accident calls yesterday to 911, which is beyond crazy! Have a great Wednesday! :)

Fortunately I don't have to go driving in the stuff, blessed to be a homemaker - but I made shoveling the snow one of my main workouts yesterday and will do some more today (already put in about 10 minutes but I didn't have my good snow boots on so I had to come in before I could work up a sweat!!). Ya'll be careful and smart idea to bring your workout clothes with you.

We've had so much snow in KS and snow days off that my students are starting to say: "Hey what's up? We need to get back to class!!!"

It takes so much time to change everything on and off line for my classes when we have snow days, that it's much easier just to go to class and teach! LOL

I worked out at home, too. But today I might just have to convince hubby to drive me to the Y. Be safe out there!

I worked out at home due to the snow, but it's never the same. As long as you can be safe, I think the gym is a good idea. You're even prepared with having your workout clothes with you! emoticon emoticon

Yowza! You must live in Ohio or nearby, casue it looks like crap outside. I work in a hospital in front of the emergency room, so I agree that there are way too many accidents this winter. And I'm sick of shoveling as well.

In Rememberance...

Monday, February 07, 2011

Every 56 days (only because that is the rule), oh and of course can't if you have the sniffles, I give blood at the Red Cross. I have been doing this for the almost 2 years now, and had started it right out of high school, until I started my child bearing years. I then had to put it aside. So I started up the last part of 2009, and have been doing it eversince. The rememberance part is for my dad. My dad, before he got very sick and passed, volunteered daily at the Red Cross to drive the older people that go through them, to their doctor's appointments. He loved that! It gave him a purpose for living and a total passion for life. He then had to give it up, because his heart started to fail, and at that point, he took a turn for the worse. I do this for him (and of course, for the people that so desperately need it), but I love to put him in my thoughts, while I am doing this. This last donation, I earned a 1 gallon pin in Decemeber! Pretty proud of that! So dad, this is for you! Love you!

Have to do my exercise first thing, because you have to lay around and be lazy for 5 hours afterwards! lol

Have a fantastic Monday! Get your move on..., I know I am! emoticon

Sorry to hear about your dad, but what a great way to honor his memory! 1 gallon, wow!!

I've only given blood once so far, but plan to give more. Unfortunately, every summer we drive to Mexico to build a house through Amor Ministries, and because of that, every year I have to wait another 365 days until my next donation... but by the time the year rolls around, we've been to Mexico again and the 365 restarts!!

What a wonderful thing you do! I shall try again, the last few times I was turned away due to low iron levels. But now that I'm here & watching my iron intake maybe I can donate too!

That's very sweet to remember your dad that way. Today would have been my Dad's birthday. He would have been 77 yrs old. He passed away on my birthday in 1989 at 55. I wished him a Happy Birthday today anyway. Have a great week!!! emoticon
