Yeah for me!!

I stepped on the scale today, and it had finally moved! lol Downward, thank God! I have lost 1.2lbs! Now, mind you, I don't base it all on the scale, but it's nice to see it finally going down.

I've made 2 recent changes in my eating, that I hope that I can stick with. I started with the fact that eating off a salad plate really does psych you out and make you think you are eating so much food! It's really starting to work for me! The 2nd thing that I thought I would try is to leave at least 3 bites on my plate. Wow! I did that at lunch and dinner yesterday, and I literally "felt" better. I know I didn't overeat, and let me tell you, I don't like to waste food, so it was really hard to leave it there. I was raised with the "clean plate" club. Glad I did though! I think I will "treat" myself to something, if I can keep this up for a whole month(and then some, but we shall start with a smaller goal in mind). Maybe a new pair of jeans or a new blouse (in a smaller size, would be awesome!). I'm sure I can come up with something! lol

A bit on edge...

Well, yesterday my 19 year old nephew hopped a military plane straight out of the US. I am worried for him, but know that he will be okay. He is such an awesome young man, and I think I worry about his mom (my sister), more than anything. She is a very strong woman, but I know that this is weighing on her. She's been going to the gym to distract herself. What a great way to get some of the frustrations and worries out.

I went to the Y this morning to do a little of the same. It felt so good to do 3 miles on the elliptical and just stretch and make my body(and mind) feel good. I knew that this was what it was supposed to be like, to be motivated and stay motivated. I look forward to my workouts, even more so with the buddy that I meet up there. I haven't dropped any pounds off of the scale, but my clothes are feeling better on me and I am standing taller than I have in 4 months. All I can do is just keep going!

Well, excited that the kiddos go back to school, so I have a little more flexibility with my day to get some things done. I think that they are just as excited to get back to school, even though they won't admit it! Did my circuit course today, and decided to do some more of the elliptical. Feeling great, and getting an awesome start to my day is wonderful. I feel like I can take on the day, no matter what it hands me. My goal for the month of January is at least 4 days of working out a week, and if I make that goal for all 4 weeks, I'm getting a brand new pair of Skechers! So far, I have only missed 1 day each, for the weeks that have passed which still adds up to the 4 days(well, since there are 5 days in the work week), so I am on the right track! :)

Today's goal at home: Getting my work space at home under organization...filing, getting things put in it's proper place, ect. I know I will feel better if I have my home office just as organized as my office space at work! :) Have a great day and get movin'!!! emoticon emoticon

Ready to get back to normal!

I am sooo ready for my kiddos' school to get back to normal! It really disturbs our whole routine, when my kids are out 5 days in 2 weeks! I can't plan anything, and it really makes it hard on the kids with it being cold outside, because they are all cooped up with nowhere to go! Arrrgh!

Come on Wednesday! :)

I actually made it to the Y for the circuit course..., man I really push myself (lifting as much as I can handle for 2 full reps of 12, going full speed on the cardio). I really make sure that by the time I get to the 2nd or 3rd machine, I am sweating. Let's me know that I am actually doing something. I did the circuit course for 30 minutes and then when I was finished, the instuctor does 5 minutes of abs. After I was done, I usually leave, but I didn't feel like that was enough, so I did another 20 minutes on the elliptical (at full speed)! I felt much better, when I kept at a steady pace for the full 20 minutes, without taking so much as a breather. This is how I base my exercise level..., it's getting easier to keep up, without losing breath quickly! Yeah!! Wasn't happy with my weigh in, even after I kept a full journal of what I am eating, and watched what I ate all week (sorry all, don't like to weigh in when it's "that time") which I don't rely on what the scale says, fully. I know I feel better and that's what counts. My clothes are starting to feel better, too. So, I will stick with what I am doing, because I know if I stop now, I will regret it!
