ALONE AT GYM

MY FIRST BLOG ENTRY!!

So, Friday night I went to gym and I was in the women's only section. ALONE.
Not a single soul other than myself. People have better things to do on a Friday night than be at gym...but what could be better than a awesome workout. And awesome is was. I RAN.

Before Friday night the longest I had ever run was 4min non stop.
4min passed, 7min passed, 10 min passed, 15min passed, 20min passed and this is when I started crying, I realized all 97kg of me was running and then I continued running 25 min passed, and when I reached the 30min mark I took a big gulp of water and had the biggest grin on my face, got off the treadmill and had the most amazing and well deserved shower of my life. This all after 30min of strength training.

I never thought I would say this but I want to run a 5k in December.
And I will.

    Wow congratulations, That was an amazing achievement, I am just beginning to think about if I will attempt running at 57 and now down to 95.5 kg maybe I should consider it more. Maybe if there is no one else in the gym I might try it. I can not imagine doing what you have done but... maybe one day. Thank you for the encouragement emoticon

    Wow what a story....
I can run/jog slowly for 2 minutes and yesterday managed 5min without dying, and I am 65KG...
how long did it take you to get to this stage please?? I
am really wanting to run but find that I run out of puff and my heart rate goes way over what it should be exercising.

    emoticon Love this blog! Congrats on your awesome workout. I used to never go to the gym on Fridays because I was afraid of feeling like the loser who had nothing to do on a Friday night but now, really, it's one of my favorite things to do. While most people are out getting really unhealthy foods at restaurants and drinking themselves into a stuport, we're going something great for our bodies. Keep it up!
