Life's Fulfillment

Friday, September 21, 2012

Acts 17:24-28 “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands, “Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things, “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, “so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; “for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.'”

Father, I thank You for living within me. Thank You for leading the way each day for me. I pray that You will forgive me for the times I've chosen to go my own way and have ignored Your directions. I know that You created me for Yourself, that You might fill me with Your thoughts and desires so I might fulfill the plan that You have for my life. Please help me to choose Your ways over my own. Thank You for filling me with Your very presence. It's in You that I live and move and have my being. I was made for You to inhabit and I thank You for filling my spirit with Your Spirit. May You be glorified in me today, Lord Jesus!

“My child, My children seek all kinds of things to bring satisfaction and contentment into their lives. And all that is needed for them to be happy is for them to look to My Spirit within them. I live in each one of My believers. I inhabit their innermost being. It is in Me that they find life and that more abundantly. It is not in the things that they possess or the places that they go. They are looking for Me in all the wrong places. You must connect with Me to have the abundant life that I provide. Look unto Me and live fulfilled and satisfied. Look unto the world and continue to long for Me for the world does not offer anything that even remotely resembles Me. You can only have contentment through knowing Me for I am the life-giver. Look unto Me and live. Look unto the world and continue to be hungry!”

Thank you Avanell for a great lesson. We don't have to look anywhere but to the Lord for our happiness, help, and comfort. He will direct our footsteps in the right direction for a full life. I like your quote that Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil. What a wonderful point you made. God bless you for sharing God's word with us.

Father, you're quite right - I keep looking in the wrong places for comfort, strength and help. I try to look for you and you know I ask you to help me but I'm obviously not very good at listening or seeing yet because often you don't seem to answer. I know you're there all the time and that you love me. Please help me to keep looking to you for all I need and to find you. And please forgive me for when I look for you in the fridge or in a chocolate bar or, worse, in the 'comfort' of self-harm.
Yours always

The Umpire Of My Life

Thursday, September 20, 2012

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

“You were called to live in My peace, Child. The decision that you make will either bring peace or unrest into your life. Learn to seek Me before making decisions and allow My peace to rule the decision making process. You will know which way to take by the the peace or lack thereof. If you do not feel at peace about a situation do not do it. That's My way of explaining to you that it is not the right direction for you to take. I will give a check or uneasiness within your spirit to indicate what you should do. You must pray and seek My will before making these decisions as I know which way you should go. Allow Me to lead you and I will guide you into peace for I have called you to live in harmony in your relationships; both with Me and with your fellow believers. Allow My peace to rule your heart and you will not experience the heartache that comes with making wrong decisions. Let Me lead you and guide you in the way you should go!”

Father, I thank You for Your peace. I know, Father, that You lead and guide us by peace in our hearts. I pray that I might always follow the way of peace in my heart so I won't get into situations that are not in Your will for my life. Help me to overcome the temptation to make decisions based on my emotions which go against the peace or disharmony that I sense at times when I am not supposed to go a certain direction. You know what is best for me, Father, and I trust you to lead me in the right way. Please forgive me for the times when I have not followed Your peace and made unwise choices that affected the quality of life that I was living. Show me the way that I should take in these times of decision and give me the courage to follow Your peace in each one of them. Thank You, Father. Amen.

Peace – Greek word eirene – Strong's #1515 – menas a state of rest, quietness, and calmness; an absence of strife; tranquility. It generally denotes a perfect well-being.

Have you ever made a decision that you just felt uneasy about within your heart? That's the Spirit of God within you trying to say “don't do that”! There have been times when I have made those decisions and then there have been other times when I followed the lack of peace within and made the right decision. It was at those times of correct decisions that, as I made them, I would feel God's peace sweep over me and a huge load was lifted off my shoulders. If only we would learn to follow that peace all the time then our lives would be much less complicated.

What does it mean when it says “let the peace of God rule”? Well, I think of it as being like an umpire in a baseball game. What He says goes! If he rules that ball as a strike even though the batter didn't flinch when the ball passed by him, it is a strike! The players are lead by the umpire's decision. That's how God wants us to live; ruled by His peace. We are called to live in peace. When our emotions are involved we will not always have peace in our hearts because we are pulled one direction or another by how we feel. I am learning that I cannot trust my emotions all the time. But if I allow peace or the lack of it to direct me then I will experience a peaceful lifestyle.

Thank you Avanell for an awesome lesson. Yes, we need pray for the Peace of God. I remember times I have made a decision tht went wrong. I did not pray for guidance from God. I learned a hard lesson those time. Now I pray before making choices and ask God to guide me through these situations. This lesson was really well done. I am keeping it for myself to re-read it.     Avanell, thank you so much! I pray that others learn to heed that inner voice. Like you, there have been times I didn't listen to that inner voice myself, early on in my walk with the Lord. EVERY time I didn't heed it or understand it, I was sorry afterward. I always call it a "glitch" to dh and I never miss those "glitches" now. It makes life so much easier and richer!

God Bless your faithfulness to us! May your blogs reach more and more, in Jesus name, in these harsh days!

The umpire is sometimes wrong. The crowd boos but he is paid to call 'em as he sees them. Often we call them wrong, but His peace guides us and encourages us to hit a home run next time around.

To live in harmony is always our choice, but because we sometimes get a foul we cannot always predict. I am not a sports nut, but I know God is touching hearts today as we move from one sport season to another.

Peace He leaves us and may we whether first, second, third base find ours. May we be unbiased in our discernment as He is with us. There is no 3 strikes you are out.

This was a very good blog and may others hear the call of the Ultimate Umpires voice.

Also thanks for the goodie and note yesterday.

Please keep hearing His voice. It is the only thing I respond to and it is doing a cleansing work in those that believe He has been silent for 2000 some years.

Living By The Spirit

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Oh Father, I come before Your throne this morning to hear Your voice, to spend time with You; to come to know You more. You are my God. There is none beside You. It is from You that I receive the words of life. I yield to You this morning. Have Your way in me today. Calm my anxious soul and speak hope and direction to my heart. For You are the One that I praise!

“Do not let your heart be troubled, Child. Look unto Me for I am your hope of salvation. There is no other way but Mine. Seek Me with all your heart and you will find Me. I am near; closer than a brother. I am within you. Follow and I will lead you. Do not look to the right or to the left. Look only unto Me. You are My child and I will lead you by My Spirit within. Lean not on your own understanding, but trust in Me. I know all things that will transpire in your life. I know the road ahead of you and what obstacles you will encounter. Your best interest is in My heart. I will not leave you to walk that road alone. Lean on Me, for I am your strength and salvation. Trust My judgment for I know what is best for you.”

One of the hardest lessons for me in life has been learning to lean on the Lord and not on my own understanding. I was taught to be self-sufficient. If something was to get done it would be my responsibility to see that it is done. My life has been one that required hard work and diligence on my part in order to provide for myself and my children. So, it seems that at times I try to continue directing my own course, looking for my own thoughts and working under my own power and ability. Many times God has had to remind me of who is in control in my life. It's Him, not me. I get my orders from my Commander in Chief. He is the Great Shepherd of my soul and it's in Him that I trust!

Thank you Avanell for another great lesson and your testimony. I think each of us have tried to do things on our own, knowing after all we have to rely and lean on the Lord. It is through Jesus that all things are possible and I too am living on my own and at times feel I can't handle situations. I realize it is through our wonderful Jesus and Holy Spirit that walk us through situations. Thank you for reminding us that we can't do it alone. I have a poster on my bedroom door that says "The Lord and I make a perfect team. I know where I've been and He knows where I'm going." I am relying on His leadership and guidance. Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Hebrews 12:1-4 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.

Oh Father, I look to You today for all that I need for You are my Source and Provision. You are the One that I lean on; that I cling to and rely on. Without You in my life I am nothing and can do nothing. Thank You, Lord, for taking care of the things that concern me. Thank You for providing for my every need. You are awesome in this place, Mighty God! Help me, Lord, to look away from the things that try to hold me back from being all that You've called me to be. Show me the way to take when problems arise that try to steal my focus away from You. Strengthen me for the journey, Father.

“Turn your eyes upon Me, Child, and look for me in every situation. For whatever you look upon will become the biggest in your life. Your focus becomes what you think about; the primary importance in your life. If you magnify the problem it will become bigger but if you magnify Me I will take pre-eminence over all that is happening around you. Look at Me, Child. Look into My eyes and see the love that I have for you. You are My focus. I gave everything that I had for you. You were on My mind when those soldiers were beating Me and nailing My body to that tree. You were My focus. I love You, My Child. I will perfect that which concerns you. Don't focus on how big your problems are. Focus on how big You God is and watch Me show Myself strong on your behalf. Watch Me move mountains in answer to your call. Call unto Me, Child, and I will show you great and mighty things that you have never known. I will open the eyes of your understanding when you listen to My voice and place your trust in Me. I am the Great I AM; there is nothing too difficult for Me. Do not allow the cares of this life to weigh you down for I care for you. I will help you when you look unto Me for I am the author and finisher of your faith.”

Refiner's Fire

Monday, September 17, 2012

Father, as I see You I see my own uncleanness. Father, You are holy and set apart above the whole race of man. You are pure and clean and I am impure and unclean. Father, when I see You I see the magnitude of my sin. I see the impurity of my heart. Purify my heart, Oh God. Let it be as gold and purest silver. Purify my heart. May it be as gold, pure gold. Father, I realize that as You have said the tongue is like a raging fire and it sets the whole course of a person's life on fire. Father, I ask You to purify my heart so my tongue will not spew forth evil things. I know that Your word says that the tongue speaks out what is in abundance in the heart. I ask You, Father, to fill my heart with good things that my tongue will spill forth fresh water, healing waters and things that will glorify You in my life. Touch my tongue with the fire of Your coals and purify it, Oh Father!

Isaiah 6:1-7 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away. And your sin purged.”

James 3:6-10 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole boy, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought now be so.

“Until a person can see the uncleanness within them they cannot be helped; they cannot be changed. A sinner who will not acknowledge his sin cannot be saved. But when that person comes to Me acknowledge their sin I free pardon and forgive them.

You are a work in progress, My Child. It is good that you have seen the uncleanness and impurity of your heart for I now can cleanse it and make it pure. Your eyes have been opened to see the poison of the asp in each person's tongue. Do not yield it to the deadly poison that tries to come forth when you are under pressure. Pray that you do not enter in temptation for your flesh is weak even though your spirit is willing to do what is right. It is at those times that your enemy has placed a strategic attack against you to destroy your relationships with those that you love.

Yes, Child, the words of another cut deep within your heart. Their words are judged just like yours. I will deal with the heart of the other just as I have dealt with yours. Keep your eyes focused on Me. Do not let the words and actions of another detour you from following My commands and doing what is right in My sight. All things are laid bare before Me. Let Me be the judge and lawgiver. You are the created; not the Creator. I have cleansed your iniquity and removed the guilt of your sin. Go forth now, My Child, ever aware of the magnitude and weight that your words carry. Do not fall prey to the attack of the enemy, but stand firm against him resisting him through your faith.”

Thank you for an awesome lesson Avanell. I know I need to have an encounter with Him every morning. We need to be refreshed each day and as we pray, asked for a new beginning asking for forgivieess for my sins. We have to keep remembering that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. As I repent and ask for forgiveness and know that God forgives my sins, I can carry on with a clean heart another day. God bless you for sharing such a great message with us.

Once again, thanks for the inspiration! You know, each time I look into HIS holiness, have a very fresh encounter with HIM, the first thing that happens is that I see just how impure I am, how undeserving I am of all HE is in my life, and how much I need HIS refining in my life. That leads me to repentance - and then into HIS joy! Have a blessed day!

Yes, Avanell, this was powerful because you have a listener's ear. The refiner's fire is worth it. Don't let the enemy distract you. He is dealing with those who "trouble" and He is for us and not against us.

Everytime, without exception, I heard His voice, someone came at me to mock me and be my nemesis.

Stand firm, child of God, and gather with the faithful. They pray for you and don't look back to the past. You have a heavenly host and great cloud of witness cheering you on. Is this not enough for you? I will never be finished with you until you come to your true home in heaven, and then Life will begin as you will be rewarded by meeting me face to face. You will see your loved ones there, and nothing will marr or disturb. Do you see Me sitting on the throne?
