Give Me This Mountain!

Monday, March 05, 2012

Joshua 14:12 "Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said."

Does your weight seem to loom before you as a mountain, tall and mighty? Caleb excitedly looked at his mountain as the inheritance that God had given him ready to be scaled and conquered. He viewed his God as bigger than any enemy that would come against him and he knew that if his God was for him that he could take the mountain and drive out the enemy. God's word clearly states that our God is for us, not against us. The mountain that seems to be an unattainable obstacle in front of us can be conquered if we will depend on the Lord to lead us to make the right choices and then follow through with the self-discipline of acting on those choices. Do you see yourself as a victor in Christ Jesus? The picture that we hold before our eyes will be the one that we will bow down to. If we see our weight challenges as bigger than our God then food will always reign over us, but if we see our God as bigger than our weight challenge then our God will win and we will be victorious! Are you ready to take your mountain?

Joshua 14:13 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.

Awesome blog. God is truely bigger than any mountain.
Praise God, that through Christ, He is daily leveling the mountains and making a highway called, " Holiness."
I am so glad that God has chosen us to be a mirrow reflecting His goodness to a world that needs to see the love and power of God at work in the believer's life.

Have a blessed day, and thank you for these words of wisdom.

Today Is A New Day!

Saturday, March 03, 2012

Isaiah 43:18 "Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old,"

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Yesterday's gone and with it go the disappointment of the mistakes that were made. Every day is a new opportunity for success.

Yesterday started out good with a -2 pound register on the scales, but being off schedule by being away from home brought some disappointments in my ability to make positive food choices. Eating out always presents challenges and the temptations of culinary delicacies sometimes gets the best of me! Thank God it wasn't too bad though! Nevertheless, today is a new day and another opportunity to make healthy food choices. I will not allow the defeat of yesterday to carry over into today.

So, I am determined to press forward into today with a positive attitude about success. This is a good day to win the battle and by the grace of God, I will!

I will forget about yesterday and embrace the possibilities of today. It's possible to succeed because I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. He is the greater one living inside of me and He directs my steps. I am a child of the King, empowered by His Spirit who lives within me! This is a great day!

To God be the glory, great things He has done!

You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Each day is a fresh start and with the Lord walking with you in this journey and the support of fellow believers cheering you on, you can and will reach your goals.
May the month of March see many goals completed and wonderful testimonies that you can share with the group of what God has done in your life as you have committed this area of getting healthy to Him.
He is so faithful to guide you and give to you the encouragement and strength you may need to press forward.

Well Able!

Thursday, March 01, 2012

Numbers 13:30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, "Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it."

As believers in Christ Jesus, we are "well able" to overcome any obstacle that is placed before us through the power of the Holy Spirit that lives within us. Do you really believe? Jesus often said, "be it unto you according to your faith". If we see the excess pounds on our bodies as the mountain before us and believe that what Jesus says is true, we can speak to the mountain and it will be gone! (Mark 11:23) What's holding us back from being the successful people that God has created us to be? Sometimes it's fear of failure; or the comfort that we find in our friendships with food; or lack of self-discipline. All of these are simply "giants" in our land of success. God told the Israelites in Deuteronomy 9:1-3 that they knew about the giants in their Promised Land and how big they were, but that He was going before them to cause them to be successful in overcoming the giants. It's the same with us today, friends, God has gone before us into this day to cause us to be successful. Now, go forth, in the power of His Spirit, to victory!
