In MN and lost 5lbs

Saturday, July 17, 2010

Been in MN since Wednesday afternoon and enjoying time with family. Oldest brother and his family is already heading out to the fair because the kids have some things going on now. Dad and I will be heading out later on after we get ourselves ready to go.

Yes, I lost another 5lbs. I'm back to where I was before I gained the 10lbs. So since 8-31-08, I've lost 30lbs and I have another 90lbs to go. Cannot wait to lose that much more. I might even lose more before we leave this coming Thursday. You may never know. I'm going to let my sister-in-law know that I'm back down to 30lb weight loss when I see her later.

It's hot up here in MN. Typical for this time of year. Except for last year when it got as far as the low 80s for the highs. One day last year it got as high as 66 degrees. It got as high as 83 one day this year but its been closer to 90 or higher the past couple of days. It was 93 degrees when we got here Wednesday.

Almost ready for a trip to Minnesota

Friday, July 09, 2010

Dad and I are leaving in 5 days for Minnesota. Going to visit my oldest brother and his family. The county fair starts this coming Thursday and ends a week from this Sunday. And my oldest niece Melinda graduates high school. Her and her sister and two brothers are homeschooled so that's why she's graduating late. Plus she turned 18 years old a week ago yesterday. It doesn't seem possible that she's that old and is graduating high school already. I don't even look like I have an 18 year old niece. I'm only 32 years old.

I forgot to enter my weight gain on here after entering the last blog. I'm kind of glad that I didn't. I lost the 5lbs that I gained. I'm hoping to lose at least that much before we go to Minnesota. The way that I have been eating here lately (not eating a full meal and cutting back on a few things like bread and potatoes), I'll keep on eating that way until I lose the weight. I wonder if I'm going to lose any weight this year like I did last year. Last year I lost 5lbs while we were up there. I wonder if I'm going to lost that much or more this year. Last year I did a lot of walking and didn't eat as much. Usually you gain weight while on vacation. For me, I lost weight. Espeically when you have a sister-in-law who is on the same plan as you are. I know that I need to get a lot of this weight off before 6-18-11 because that is when my brother Michael gets married in Ohio.

I kind of feel that I've lost the pounds that I gained. Espeically in my core from front to back. Plus I think that it has to do that I'm kind of getting close in starting my period. I don't usually eat much when I'm on my period. I usually eat a lot before and after my period but never during it.

R.I.P Tigger

Tuesday, July 06, 2010

A week ago yesterday morning we had to put our 9 year old cat Tigger to sleep. We had no choice in the matter. He wasn't himself. He was eating the dog's food and not his and he was using the kitchen island as a litter box instead of his own box which was clean. The vet asked if they should examine him before we put him to sleep and we told them to go ahead and put him to sleep. So all the pets we got left is Lady, our dog. She tries to find him but not as much as she use to.

I've gained 5lbs but haven't gotten the chance to post it yet. I've been so busy that I haven't gotten the chance to do it. After I get this blog done I'll post it.

Well, I'm working on Michael and Melanie's afghan. I'm taking leftover yarn and making it into an afghan. At least I'm getting rid of the yarn. I have a large ball of yarn but I don't think that I have enough yarn. I will know when it's done. I start having trouble handling it and I start cussing at it. I'm kind of cussing at it now because I don't have the right kind of knitting needles. I'm using straight needles when I should have circular needles. I will find some or borrow some.

Sorry to hear about your cat. I had to put mine to sleep last year and it was very sad. We bought a concrete staue to honor him with. It is out in my garden.

Rest in Peace Tigger, but know he is waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. He is at peace and playing with all the other beloved pets that are waiting for their owners to cross the bridge into Heaven.

RIP Tigger! May Tigger be without pain, chasing, playing, purring and warming in the sun in the land over the rainbow.

May you find comfort for your loss by being focused on your knitting labor of love.

I lost my Bug nearly a year and half ago and was missing him today. I saw your blog title and just had to offer support. emoticon emoticon

No rain today

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Today was a beautiful day. No rain like we had yesterday to where sometimes you couldn't even see where you were going. Not even the lines on the road.

Dad and I started back on cadiac rehab in doing treadmills and bikes. We started a week ago this past Monday. I did the treadmill twice at 15 minutes each and the bikes at the same amount of times and the length of time. That was the first day and a week ago today. Actually I did the bike once a week ago. We didn't go this past Friday because we got busy and we were still sore. But we did do it this past Monday and today. This time I increased the time on the treadmill. Instead of doing 15 minutes twice, I did it for 25 minutes twice. I am going to increase my time on the bike next week. I did the bike once today. Tired and didn't feel like doing it again. Maybe Friday I will do the bike twice. Dad is stiff and sore from it. He hasn't done cardiac rehab since August but has been doing physical therapy.

I'm hoping that I can get some more weight off. I'm stuck at 215lbs right now. I haven't been eating much but I have been exercising a lot. I took the dog for 3 walks today and yesterday I took her for 4. The last one yesterday wasn't planned. I just got done giving her a bath before I took her and she wanted to have one.

I found out Monday afternoon that I will be having a new sister-in-law at least by this time next year. My brother Michael is engaged to be married. He's the one that lives in Ohio. Her name is Melanie. Dad and I will be able to see her soon.

Hi there! You mention all these things with your Dad--where's your Mom?
How did you get started on Physical Therapy? (rehab?)
I gave my dog, Toffee, a bath today, too. He wanted it: he was scratching himself!

Long week

Friday, May 21, 2010

This week has felt long with dad's therapy and the weather. But you can't complain this coming weekend. It's going to be in the 80s and 90s this weekend. Better than it has been and no rain is in sight.

Been having problems with fleas on the dog here lately. Tried flea medicine, flea spray, flea carpet powder, and baths but something isn't working. Going to try a different brand this time whenever we get it.

I wish that had 2 new photos on my computer but I don't have them yet. They're of my ring and shape up sandals. I'll post them whenever I get the chance to get them onto the computer.

Dad is doing fine. He's watching the Cubs game vs. Texas. He was asleep when I took the dog for a 2nd walk. But when we got home, he was awake and had the cat with him. Dad has a doctor appointment a week from today to get his defibulator checked out. I think sometime this week is when he can start mowing the yard. Our neighbor (who owns the garage here in town and we get parts for) has been mowing the yard for us. I would do it but we don't have a push mower and I don't trust myself on the riding mower.
