Date has been set for dad's surgery

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

Dad's surgery date has been set but time of day hasn't. January 8th is the day that he's going to have the surgery. It's about time they finally told us. We kind of knew yesterday but wasn't 100% sure until today and all we have to do now is wait for the doctor's office to tell us what time of day they're going to do the surgery.

It's a windy night right now and I'm hoping that the trash cans by the curb haven't blown down again. I'm about ready to move them near the lilac bush so they won't blow away.

I have seen where people drive a STAKE in the ground and put the trash can handle threw it, so the can won't blow over, but the trashman can pick it straight up and not have a problem with the stake. Also, dogs can't tip the can over.

I'm glad they finally gave you a date! That has been a long wait just to hear that much. I will be sure to keep your father and your family in my prayers.

The wind was horrible here the past couple of days as well. I thought my house was going to be blown off to Oz or something!

One down and six to go

Monday, December 29, 2008

I lost one of the seven pounds gained. I walked 4 times between Saturday and this morning. Once on Saturday, twice yesterday, and once this morning. I really changed my eating habits this weekend and that might of helped too. I'm going to keep on tweeking it until I got the right groove to stay in. I'm really going to tweek it today as much as possible.

I rarely drink soda. I had my first full 20oz bottle last week but I have bought other bottles of soda but I've drank very little out of them. I'm going to use them for something else like putting them into plants that I have near the computer. It helps them grow for some reason. My late mom use to do that with plants that she use to have.

My sister-in-law Cheri (CHERIMOMOF4) has lost weight. She lost 62 pounds. I'm very proud of her. I didn't know until today that she lost that much. I knew that she was losing weight back in July but at that time she only lost 40 pounds.

I'm hoping today that we find out when dad will have his surgery. I hope.

I've never heard that about putting soda into plants!! We have some soda at work in the fridge that nobody is going to drink ... I might give that a try and see what happens.

And what a great attitude to keep working at what you're doing to find what works best for you! So many people don't find it right away and just give up!! Keep at it!!

Gained wait but it's not because of lack of exercise

Thursday, December 25, 2008

I think that I'm getting ready to start my period and I've gained 7 pounds. But I'll get them off as soon as I can. The weather is going to be nice after today and I'm going to use it as much as I can to go for walks with the puppy and a lot of them.

Merry Christmas to everyone and I hope that everyone has a good day and get what they hoped they asked for.

As you have said it could be that time of the month and sometimes that does cause a water weight gain and if that is so than you will be happy when you weigh and see that you have lost that water plus some more weight. It sounds like you have a sweet little puppy that needs a lot of exercise that will be a help to you.

Feeling better but still a bit sore

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

I am feeling better but still have some soreness. That will pass. I took something for the pain about 2 hours ago so I should be good until after lunchtime if the pain comes back. I was sore when I got up this morning.

Today is going to be wamer. It was in the single digits Sunday and in the teens yesterday and today it's going to be in the upper 20s to the lower 30s. And it's suppose to get to 40 by Friday. Good so some of this ice can melt off the roads and I can take the pup for a walk.

I'm sore from falling

Monday, December 22, 2008

I fell today on the icy snow in front of the house this afternoon. We came back from Galesburg and Silvis and I was walking towards the safe non icy sidewalk when I fell. So you can imagine that I'm as sore as all get out. I'm going to be fine though. I took Wal-Mart brand of Excederin half an hour ago. Just my knees, hands, and lower back hurt. I should be fine by Christmas.

A week ago today Lady turned 8 months old. I can't believe that she's that old already. I was looking at old photos of her a moment ago and I can't believe that she's growing up so fast.

See what I mean. The first one was the day we got her (it wasn't 2 minutes after dad got her on his lap when she fell asleep) and the 2nd one was a month and 11 days ago when my brother Michael was here.

Aww ... look at the difference in that sweet little doggy! She has grown quite a bit. I'm sorry I missed your post about your fall. I'm catching up now. I hope you're feeling better now!

I'm sorry you fell. You were LUCKY. My friend lived up by Chicago and she came out her front steps and fell and broke her wrist and had to have 3 surgeries on it. My other friend who lives in Northern Alabama, her husband broke his leg and was off work five months from falling on ice on his front steps.

SO, I know how easy it can happen. DO be careful. emoticon emoticon
