Finally broke a 6 week plateau

Saturday, July 14, 2012

7:02am

I finally broke a 6 week (appoximately) plateau of being at 199 pounds . I'm at 197 pounds. So I've lost 2 pounds. I feel happy and satisfied that I've lost that amount of weight. I havn't haven't lost any weight since around Memorial Day. Here's how my weight loss breaks down from this year, since 2008, and since I graduted from high school in 199.

18 pounds lost this year (215 pounds)
43 pounds lost since 8-31-08 (240 pounds)
78 pounds lst since I graduated high school in 1997 (275 pounds).

It feels so good that I've lost the amount of weight. I have another 22 pounds to lose until I've lost 100 pounds since I graduated high school. But I have 57 pounds to go until I've lost 100 pounds on SparkPeople. I have at least 17 pounds to go until I can get off of the blood pressure medicine.

7:33am

I just gotten home from the 2nd walk with the dog. I may go for more later if I'm in the mood and if we don't go anywhere. I know that she'll want to go for more since she gave me the looks last night when she got her last 2 walks.

I'm a littel tired this morning. I got to bed late last ight. Little later than usual. Plus I got up little later than usual. I'm usually up before 5:30am but it was almost 5:40am. I'm so close in taking a nap.

8:43am

Dad's up a little earlier than usual for a Saturday. Usually he's still in bed about now. He went to bed long before I did last night. It was before 10pm when he went to bed. It was almost 11pm when I got to sleep.

I haven't told my dad that I've lost weight yet. I may later on today. If we go up to my stepcousin's house later, he may hear it there. My stepcousin is losing weight through Weight Watchers and he's lost more weight than I hae. I'm not sure how much he wants to lose. I think that he said either 50 to 70 pounds. I think that he's lost around 50 pounds.

I haven't sent a text message to my sister-in-law et. She may see it on Facebook later on this morning when I get on there.

The county fair that we goto in Minnesota starts n 5 days and we won't be up there. Would love to see my family and friends up there but can't. Not enough money to go up there this year. We mgiht go up later this year depending on if we can afford it.

I guess that we got some more rain last night while we were sleeping. Theer were several puddles in he street while walking the dog. At least it'll green up the grass a bit and help it grow. Our yard has a lot of brown area.

I'm so close in being half way done with my 1st 2L bottle of water today. Somehow I'm dry this morning for some reason. I'm not usually this dry this early in the day. At the rate tha I've been drinking the water, I may have the water drank before we leave the house. It must be the weather causing me to be dry.

I finally added my weight (197 pounds) to SparkPeople. It's nice to see my weight lower than it has been. I was starting to get worried that I was going to lose any weight.

11:09am

I feel like I ate too much for breakfast even though I was hungry. Ihad my usual breakfast. I should be good unil supper. I hope.

I had to go to the library to renew the 2 bookstha I checked out 3 weeks ago. I have the last 2 Harry Potter books to finish up before August 4th. I'm reading both books at the same time. I have The Half-Blood Prince in the bathroom and The Deathly Hallows in by the computer. I'm not confused by doin this. I've already found out who the Half-Blood Price is because I caught part of the movie where the character announced that he is the Half-Blood Prince. Should have known that it was him. It was obvious since the first book of the series. If anyone has read all the Harry Potter books should know what I'm talking about. The clues are there.

6:28pm

Dad and I had what we had left on sweet corn for supper. When I took the bag out thinking that we would have an ear each, but we had 2 ears each. We had 4 ears oleft. I thought that our neighbor gave us 6 ears of corn when hey gave us 8 ears of corn. They were good.

I just gotten home from taking the dog for a 3rd walk. I thought that the walk would never get done.

9:11pm

I took the dog for another walk for the 4th time today. She got some attention from our new neighbor and her daughter. The neighbor lady had to as me how the sweet corn was because some of the corn wasn't the greatest like they were left in the field too long on the stalk.

I've never told my dad about my weight loss. Why? Everytime I tell him about my weight loss, I woul either plateau or gain weight. So I will wait a little while longer until I tell him that I've lost weight. I don't want to jink what I've got going on with my weight loss.

The guy who runs the John Deere business has camels in a lot north of town. A week ago yesterday one of them had a baby. You can tell who the daddy is of the baby. There is one with white fur (not an albino) and the baby has white fur. I should get a picture of it.

I posted on Facebook with my weight loss. Had 2 people comment and about 8 people hit lik. That made me feel good. On of the people that hit like was my sister-in-law in Minnesota Cheri. She's the one that introduced me to SparkPeople. I think that I'm going to mention that on Facebook after I get done on SparkPeople. Let's see how many likes and comments I get when I post it.

a busy day

Friday, July 13, 2012

10:04pm

We had a busy day today. Took dad's oldest brother to his 2 doctors appointments, got the brother's hair cut, and ran errands for the garage here in town. Pretty much spent the entire day in Galesburg. I know that the next 3 weeks we will be taking dad's oldest brother to his appointments. His regular doctor said no more driving until the dizziness clears up.

This is a picture that I got today that I saw on Facebook yesterday. This is of my oldest brother James and my grandniece Katelynn. Looks like grandpa and granddaughter are spending quality time together. Katelynn is 2 months and 5 days old in the picture. Isn't she cute? Still has the chubby cheeks and the head of hair. My brother looks like he needs to take a nap. Being in grandpa's bibs isn't bothering her at all. Got this picture printed off so we can show people.

Took the dog for 4 walks today. Two this morning and two this afternoon. The last two he dog and I got wet. The earlier one we had more rain than the later one. We're suppose to ge more I think tonight and tomorrow.

Your grandniece is adorable Renee! She's just beautiful! Yes your brother does have that zombie-like "I'm not used to this" look, doesn't he? Lol! I'm glad that you had some nice walks today. Have a great weekend!

Had a tasty treat today

Thursday, July 12, 2012

10:07pm

Our new neighbors brought over something that was really good. Sweet corn. They saw us uptown around 5pm and asked if we wanted some for free. We said yes and we would take 4. So the daughter of our neighbors brought the corn over and they brought us more than 4. They brought us 6 ears of corn. Talk about a treat. We didn't have any butter to put on them so we had salt to put on them. Talk about a treat. They still had a trunk full of corn and a field somewhere full of sweet corn. Might see if we can take some up to my stepcousin's house if we can catch our neighbors outside.

Well, I pulled my knitted leftover yarn afghan out of the dryer and found a couple of spots wrong. The washer made two holes in my afghan where I started and another hole (not as bad as the other two) in another place. That is so unfair. I have holes in my new afghan and I haven't even enjoyed it. I will try to avoid that area since it is beyond repair and I'm not in the mood to rip out a lot of hard work. I'm working on another knitted leftover yarn afghan in the same pattern. I may end up keeping this one instead of giving it away. Keep the one that I finished up at home and the one that I'm working on when we go on a trip somewhere like Minnesota.

I was tired when I got up this morning. I woke up at my usual time but still felt tired. Fell asleep in dad's recliner for a while but that didn't help at all. Still tired when my dad got up. Didn't even fall asleep when we were in a vehicle. I hope that I get enough sleep tonight because we're going to be busy tomorrow taking my dad's oldest brother to a chiropractor appointment and to his regular doctor for an appointment. Oh Joy!!! NOT!!!! This guy is a bore.

The corn sounds wonderful. I bought some this morning at the Farmers' Market and I'm looking forward to it.

Glad you got to have some great corn. Sorry about your afghan coming out of the wash with open spots. I knit and crochet too and that's happened to me a time or two. I like to crochet my scrap yarn into sort of wild granny square afghans.
I hope you have a lovely day today, and thank you for being my friend!

After over a year of working on it

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

10:02pm

After over a year of working on it, I finally finished working on my knitted leftover yarn afghan. I started it in June 2011 and I finished it today. I did get started on another knitted leftover yarn afghan but I'm only on the first row of 4 stitches. I may work on it some more when I go to bed if I can't get to sleep. I am thinking of selling the one that I started tonight but I have to wait and see how big it gets and how long it takes me to do it to figure out how much it's going to cost first. I will have pics up whenever I get the pics taken. Rigt now it's drying in the dryer.

We went to dad's chiroprator appointment and had his oldest brother with him since the brother was complaining about his hip. He even had a cane with the 3 pool ball where your hand goes. This guy has been doing a lot of faking here lately. When we left he was using it a lot but wasn't when we got him back home. Until we got to the front door and started using it. I was right behind the man both times. Coming and going. Now we have to take the brother to the chiropracter on Friday and a doctor appointment that afternoon plus 3 times a week to the chiropractor for the next 3 weeks. So we're going to be busy with the brother for a few months with going to the chiropractor. The chiropractor decreases after 10 visits.

Been a little sleepy today. Didn't get the chance to get to take a nap. I was in the back seat of our Escape and I can't get a nap in back there. Maybe tomorrow if we go to Galesburg, IL.

Congrats on finishing your project! I have only made one afghan, and it took me almost 3 years to get around to finishing it.

What is your inspiration to lose weight?

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

10:04pm

What is your inspiration to lose weight? Mine is a 2 month and 3 day old little girl named Katelynn. My grandniece. I want to be around for her if she needs me. She is one of my inspirations to lose weight. Plus I want her mommy, aunt, and two uncles to see me in a different look than being overweight. I've been overweight their entire life and I don't want Katelynn to see me like this growing up. Plus I want to chase her around the house, get down on the floor and play with her, and be there when she gets married and has her own family. Plus whenever her parents have more kids.

Today wasn't too bad of a day. Went to Bushnell, IL twice today. One was to go and get the two dogs that belong to the guy who runs the garage here in town. His wife has her insurace agency down there and the dogs were there. Then we took a Caddy SUV down to get something checked under the hook in the afternoon. Then we went to Galesburg, IL, to run errands for the same garage. Tomorrow is chiropractor appointmet for dad (going to take dad's oldest brother with us) and back to Bushnell, IL, for an alignment. The place we're going to do the alignment job is the same place we had the SUV at.

Today wasn't too bad. Don't think that it got into the 90s at all. I think that it stayed in the 80s all day. That's good. Tomorrow I'm not so sure about. I think in the 90s. We're suppose to get some rain tonight but I'm not sure. I hope so. We REALLY need it.

My inspiration is family also, but in a different way. My mother died of breast cancer when I was 21. That has sort of hung over me, for years I wouldn't get a mammogram because I was afraid of what I might find out. One day a friend told me he would tie me up and drive me to the mammogram place if I didn't make an appointment. Turns out his mom was a breast cancer survivor and he feels she wouldn't be alive if she hadn't gotten mammograms so that her cancer was detected early. Well, I know that being overweight is a risk factor for cancer and I'd like to up my chances of avoiding that diagnosis.

My inspiration is Physical Freedom. I want to be able to move freely, travel comfortably and not always be making decision that put limits on me because I am overweight. I imagine a future where decision do not have weight as a consideration.
Your grandniece is so lucky to have someone who wants to be around for her if she needs. I don't have any grand kids yet but hopefully I will in the future and then I will embrace them as inspiration.
