What a hot day. It was anywhere between 90 and 92 degrees here in central IL. We had our air conditioner on but had to turn it off because it would start freezing up. Right now it's off because it was starting to freeze up about 2 hours ago. We have the furnace fan, 2 regular fans, and my bedroom window open. I think that this week we're going to get the air conditioner (we have central air) charged up before it gets hot again. Tomorrow we're suppose to get to 87 degrees but also get some rain and storms. I hope so and we're suppose to be in the 70s after tomorrow.
My cat got into the window tonight for the first time. I don't know what he thought of it. He got into the window but I'm not sure if he laid down on the sill of the window. Our other cats we had did when they were alive. I have to wait and see if he gets into the window later when I'm asleep.
I'm going to order myself a new pjs through the company that I work for plus new slippers that would be a lot cooler than the slippers that I'm wearing. The pjs are a cami with matching shorts. And both trimmed in lace and the straps on the cami are adjustable. It'll be a little cooler than a night shirt and shorts that I'm wearing. The slippers look like plush flip flops. Pink with a purple insole. And they're made of a micro-terry. Plus some crackle nail polish. One in black (it won't be too long before I need more of that color) and one in white.
I took the dog for only 2 walks and both were this morning. It was so hot today that I didn't take her for more. Plus our neighbor down the street had to stop working on his roof (he's putting new shingles on his house and he's license to do that kind of thing and other carpentry things). He has the north front part of the garage and the little roof over the bay window to do and he'll be done. You could tell that it was hot because the bottom half of his shirt was soaked with sweat. It was working on his roof for about 3.5 hours.
What a day. Went up to get parts for the garage here in town at two different towns north of here. It was almost 90 degrees and the only coolest spot to get cooled off was in our 2011 Ford Escape or sit in front of a fan. Take your pick. We had our air conditioner on but it needs to be charged up and wish that we had it done already. It's going to be in the 90s this weekend.
But I did stay hydrated today. 3L of water or 12 glasses of water. I had the Crystal Light Energy mix (in wild strawberry flavor) in the water so it can be easier for me to drink the water.
I took the dog for another 4 walks today. So that makes 14 walks this week. 2 walks on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and 4 yesterday and today. So you can imagine how tired the dog is right now. She might want me to walk her this weekend since I've walked her this many times already. I better make sure that she has plenty of water in her water dish and plenty of cold water for me when I get home so I can stay hydrated.
I ate pretty well today but I kind of splurged on supper. Had a slice of a small veggie pizza. It's a small piece but it was REALLY loaded with veggies. There had to be at least 5 veggies on that pizza and that's not including the sauce. I almost put fresh spinach on the pizza that my youngest nephew made Saturday night when we were up there in Minnesota but never did. It was great with or without it. The slice was an 1/8th of a small pizza. So it was a HUGE slice. But it tasted good. I try to have pizza every once in a while. Dad's supper was an apple fritter.
The cat did something that he rarely does but a first since becoming a year old. Got up with dad in dad's lap. This is the 3rd time that the cat has gotten up in dad's lap but the first since he's gotten older. He has gotten up on th back of the chair at dad's head but not in on dad's lap.
Finally, a pound lost. I have another 3 pounds to go before I can get down to 200 pounds. Yesterday I was at 204 pounds, today I'm at 203 pounds. I guess that I've done enough walking to lose the pounds. I forgot to add 2 walks yesterday by myself. One to a gas station to get a liter bottle of water to have when we went to get a transmission. The other was to the bank to deposit a check. Both are about 10 to 20 minutes combined.
I took the dog for a walk this morning. It was after I gave her her canned food. I am thinking of taking her for another walk this morning before dad gets up.
Has anyone heard and seen the video for Miranda Lambert's song Over You? It's such a moving song that I wish that it was around in October 2006 when my mom passed away. It describes how I feel since she's been gone. The song was written by Miranda and her hubby Blake Shelton. It's a true story about losing his brother when he was a kid. If you haven't, you need to. It's so moving. I almost break down and cry while listening to it.
Just gotten back from taking the dog for a 2nd walk. It gave me a chance to figure out how to put those two walks from yesterday down in minutes. I'm going to put them down for 10 minutes each even though the walk to the bank was longer but I spent equal time on each. I love taking walks with or without the dog.
I'm hoping to eat a bit light today and do more exercising because I may never know how busy we're going to be today or next week. The only times that I REALLY have time to do exercises is in the morning before dad gets up and after supper. I always carry a granola bar when we have them so if I need a snack away from home I can grab it.
I cannot believe that my grandniece Katelynn is 10 days old. It seems like only yesterday she was born. And it's been 4 days since I saw her. I would love to be holding her right now and giving her kisses and telling her how much I love her. And tell her about my mom, her great grandma. I know that my mom is her guardian angel. My mom is making sure that Katelynn is safe and sound.
Today has been a long day with us going to Galesburg, IL, twice. But both times were worth it. We might go back up there tomorrow to get what we took up there the 2nd time.
I took the dog for another 2 walks today. That makes 4 walks for today. I can tell that I have done them because I'm tired. I'm so close in falling asleep.
I just sent a text message to my youngest niece Heather to have her give Katelynn a kiss from us and see how she is. Plus if she's gained any weight. I haven't heard much out of them lately.
Got a reply from Heather. She's going to give Katelynn the kisses. She isn't sure how much Katelynn weighs yet. A checkup is scheduled for Wednesday which is my dad's 76th birthday. Just wish that I was back in Minnesota holding my little pumpkin.
Saw a onesie today that I wish that I had last week to take up there with us to Minnesota for Katelynn to use. But didn't. WIsh that I took a picture of it thought. Something about aunts.
Dad just got done spraying the house with Febreeze and I think that he over did it. I wasn't smelling what he was smelling back by the computer. It might take me a while to get to sleep with the amount that he sprayed.
I've gained 2 pounds since coming home from Minnesota. I have no idea why. I ate healthy and did a lot of walking. I know that it's too soon for me to be starting my T.O.M or showing signs of it. I don't really start feeling it until I start. So it's at least a week away. I'm at 204 pounds.
I'm hoping to get the 4 pounds off soon. Like before the end of the month. I guess that I really need to get exercising and eating a lot lighter so I can get the weight off. So fare I took the dog for awalk and had a peanut butter granola bar for breakfast.
I know that the weight gain isn't from stress because there hasn't been anything that would cause stress in my life. I know that I'm missing my family in Minnesota but that's nothing. Plus we haven't had any reason to have to worry about to cause stress. I've been nervous about dad's doctor's appointment today but nothing to cause me to binge eat. I don't usually binge eat anyway. If I get stressed out, I work on one of my hobbies.
What a day. Went to my dad's doctor appoitment and everything is fine. The doctor added and changed dad's medicines. Then we got parts for the garage here in town after the appointment. Finally we went to another town t get a transmission (from a junk yard) for the same garage. Tomorrow we're going up to get some meds for my dad.
I didn't eat so well at lunch and ate more for breakfast. I had my veggie omelet, hash browns and wheat toast (no butter) not too long after the granola bar. For lunch I had a grilled cheese sandwich with tomatoes, a quarter of the french fries (less than half of a small fries), and cottage cheese. Supper I just had a toss salad and cottage cheese. All of that was 1200 calories. I should of ate less at lunch too but didn't.
A week from today is my dad's 76th birthday. No one thinks that he'll be that old but he will be. Today would of been one of his late brother's 70th birthday. This brother was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1985. I was almost 8 years old when he died.
I took the dog for 2 walks today. Plus I walked her to our neighbor's house next door (a house down) after we got home from getting supper to talk to them. I've been taking her for 2 walks a day since we got home from Minnesota. I was going to take her for one more walk this afternoon but didn't. It was late and I was tired. I know that I will take her for more this week.
I must be getting close to having my T.O.M because I had to pee a lot this afternoon especially when we went to get the transmission. I hope that I don't have to get up at all hours of the night to pee.
My cat has been acting different since he got home from the vet. He's more loveable, less scratching on the walls, and not running away when it's time to be put into his pet taxi. Plus he lets dad pet him more often. He's never like this.
I'm still at 202 pounds. I have some ideas why that I didn't lose any weight. I didn't do much walking and there was way too many temptations around for me to eat. I'm hoping that I can get back to 200 pounds before the end of the month.
Well, got the pets home yesterday from the vet in the morning. The cat is banned from going back there. He hissed, growled, and tried to scratch on of the gals that works there. They had me try to get him. No luck for me. So one of the vets and one of the gals got him. A bath towel, wrapped him up and put him into his pet taxi. So we have to find a new place to board him.
I'm wishing that I was back up in Minnesota holding my 8 day old grandniece Katelynn. I'm missing her so much. I just have to look at the photos of her.
It's been a long day. And hot. Had to take a vehicle to get an alignment job on it in one town (the vehicle needs to be in a junk yard). Then we went to anothe town to get a parts. Both things were for the garage here in town. Then we went up to my stepcousin's house for a while . Tomorrow we're going to Galesburg, IL, for dad's doctor appointment. It's just an annual check up for him. I'm going o see if dad can ask the doctor for more refills for my blood pressure medicine since I ran out of them in March. I still got some until next month.
I'm the only one up besides the pets. Dad is going to bed early because of his doctor's appointment in the morning.
I got my hair color today but I haven't used it yet. I'm going to wait until I get my hair cut first before I put it in. On one side it shows the before and after of certain shades of blond. My hair color is the bottom color on the before. The after color was just what I was wanting. Not too light and not too light but a whole lot lighter than I what want.
I ate pretty light today but I'm hoping that there are changes in my weight. Plus I did a lot of walking while running errands and walking the dog twince for 12 minutes each. I may do more tomorrow if I'm lucky.
It was almost 90 degrees today. It was sunny and beautiful but we're suppose to get some rain tonight. Tomorrow we are going to be sunny and 75 degrees. I hope so because I can take the dog for more than one walk. I took her for 2 today.
