Recommitting to exercise

Sunday, May 01, 2011

I haven't been doing the best that I could have these past couple of weeks, especially with my daily exercise. I'm taking responsibility for my excuses and will not hold on to them anymore. Today is a new day, one in which I can do better. I've joined the spring challenge and the plan is to commit to this challenge for four weeks. By doing this (taking one day at a time) I will re-establish the habit of daily exercise.
I've taken on many healthy habits in this past year, but I'm still a "work in progress" and will remain a "work in progress" because there is always room for improvement, even after I reach my goal weight.
Thanks for stopping by and HUGS to all. Have a productive May, keep smiling and be happy with your progress. Do the best you can each day and learn to let go of the past or it will get you every time. Barb emoticon

A big THANK YOU to all...

Friday, April 15, 2011

I was trying to catch up on my e-mails etc. and just won't be able to. So I want to take this opportunity to thank all for their prayers and well wishes during this difficult time. I truly appreciate your comments. Please keep your prayers coming. Things are getting better......just need to have DMIL many good days in a row. Everything will take time, but we are hopeful that this will happen.
I will try to keep sparking daily, but if I don't get back to you individually, please forgive me. HUGS to all.

When daily routines need to change.....

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

I've been sparking now for 10 months and enjoying the successful journey thus far. It has become a part of my daily routine....tracking nutrition, increasing my scheduled fitness, but most importantly being in contact with old and new friends putting my opinions and experiences out there and hearing back from you.
Last Friday, my dear Mother-in-law was hospitalized. She is an eighty-five year old Polish immigrant who survived a concentration camp. That being said her prognosis is complicated. We've been spending many hours with her and there will be many more on the horizon. Hopefully, the doctors will be able to get her meds to the correct levels again.....only time will tell and it could be a long process.
We all get comfortable with our routines.....I know I have. With what has happened in the past couple of days I've tried to continue sparking daily, I've been tracking my food (which ends up to be less than I should be eating)...again the routine of when and what has gone by the wayside. I've not done my exercises like I should (would like to), but putting everything in perspective, I will do what I can...maybe even push a little harder to get those all important walks in.
So my dear friends, I will spark when I can, do the best that I can to stay on track and will change my daily routine to fit life's challenges. I am not giving up SP, but if you don't here from me at least you will know why....Please keep us in your prayers.
Hugs to all who read and/or comment. And remember smile.....it's contagious.
Barb

My prayers are with you and your family. My mother-in-law died
about 7 yrs ago from cancer. She was a wonderful person. I have made cookbooks for my children and grandchildren with a lot of her recipes. Something that they could remember her by.
Good luck on your journey!

My prayers are with you and your family in this difficult period. I cared for my mother until her passing. It was a wonderful time of giving back just a tiny bit of what she gave to me and yet it was so difficult to watch her decline. God bless you for your giving attitude.

Barb. I pray you enough. You have your hands full right now. Just take life one step at a time. Everything will get itself back into some kind of normalcy as time goes by. I have been through some thing similar in the last 2 years. Just remember that sometimes you have to make time for YOU. Make sure you do this. It is very important for you to have your time. God Bless. Sue

Life is not stagnate, it changes constantly. Those of us with elderly parents/relatives know this all too well, that one day all is normal and the next your world is upside down. Do what you can to the best of your ability and know that my thoughts are with you and yours. Sending positive energy and strength to endure.

Just another good thing

Sunday, March 06, 2011

Today like so many other times since starting SP I have come to a realization.
Where I used to be able to sit and watch TV for hours, especially on Saturday evenings my body will NOT let me do this any more. With the exercise 3X a week and the healthier way of eating I have too much inner energy to just sit.
Don't get me wrong if the TV program is a good one I will sit at least until a commercial. I don't know how are feeling, but I am loving the new me coming out of the old habits. Have a great week all you lucky to be here on Spark People Sparkies........I know I will try my best too. Hugs to all who read this and thank you for taking the time to stop by. emoticon

WooHoo for you! Same here. I can't sit still longer than 15 minutes before I have to do SOMETHING physical. Great, isn't it! And this coming from me . . . I could sit with the best of 'em before.

Passing on a VERY good recipe.....

Monday, February 28, 2011

Today I went to ROCKLAND2010's blog for "Impossibly Easy Zucchini Pie"
It sounded sooooo good.....and I was only missing one ingredient so yes while I was out and about I stopped at the store, picked up the Bisquick and came home and made the pie. It was fantastic.....that is if you like zucchini squash and tomato with onion and parmesan cheese............ for only 120 cals for 1/6 the pie.
Here is the link: bit.ly/cIiY0V . It's a keeper..... I already thanked ROCKLAND2010.......... emoticon
