The month is coming to a close and I once again am ecstatic about SP. This journey because of my SP friends is turning out to be more than I could have ever imagined.
My monthly goal is to lose 4#'s. This month I lost 5#'s. By now on any other plan I would have the frame of mind to be happy, but celebrate by eating whatever, whenever. To treat myself for all the hard work it tool to get me here (with food).
Being on SP I have learned that when you reach one goal you put another in place and continue on your journey. And that's what I plan to do. All the things I've been doing just keep falling in place and why would I want to change the momentum. Reading the success stories and tracking my food and fitness keeps me motivated, along with the habits of my Spark friends who inspire me so much. I know how happy my friends will be for me and I also know that when /if I falter those same friends will help pick me up and walk with me on this journey.
My whole outlook on this journey to a healthier lifestyle has changed from the "diet" mentality of old. Every day is not easy, but the days that are give me the strength to continue on.
While grocery shopping yesterday, I ran into an old friend, in the produce department of all places. We chatted a while and I found out she is in renal failure and has to do dialysis 3 times a week. Her outlook is that she has never felt better in her whole life....she always was one to see the brighter side of all things. Just being around her for those few minutes made me feel good about life in general.
Whenever we come to that place where things seem impossible, we need to revel in our accomplishments and continue to see the bigger picture. We need to smile, keep our chin up and go forward. After all, yesterday is gone; tomorrow we can't change, but today.......today is a "present" we can unwrap and joyfully embrace.
HUGS to all who read this and have a healthy weekend. I'm off to a new farmers market.....in doors for the winter months........hope it is a good as the outdoor one I usually go to.
