Woke up feeling B.L.A.H.

I woke up this morning feeling b l a h.........

B - Bewildered: emoticon can I make it through another hot, humid day.
I love living in Wisconsin, having the four seasons, but sometimes the
seasons just go on and on and on.........

L - Lethargic: emoticon can I muster up enough "get up and go" to
mow the lawn's just way too long. Did I mention it's hot?

A- Agitated: emoticon another day of not being able to just go for a walk
and "smell the roses"........again becuz of the heat!

H- Heavy : emoticon like in dense or maybe it's a feeling of being bloated.
You know when you drink a ton water and it decides to cling to every inch
of you just to keep you hydrated.

Having said all of that........I will "practice what I preach" Today is going to be a good day. A new adventure into the journey of my lifestyle change.

I WILL think of those cold, snowy days of winter when you can only go outside to shovel (that should cool the mind) in the heat.

I WILL get out and mow the lawn (takes care of my exercise for the day)

I WILL take a couple of deep breaths and just accept what I cannot change (that should calm the agitation)

I WILL continue to drink my 8+ glasses of water today, after all I can't retain it forever (or is that even possible?)

Hope everybody who reads this has a good day and appreciates (like I do) what SP has done for me. Learning how to make lemonade out of a lemon "attitude"

P.S. Just noticed today is Friday the 13th......could that be a "blah" day?

    The humid weather this time of the year gets really old, really fast. B l a h is a great way to describe it. But you have given yourself a great pep talk out of it.

If you are in the same weather pattern that we are in Minnesota, the humidity is suppose to break Sunday. I will make every effort to pass the dry air your way emoticon

    The heat should lift soon, if just for a day. I am in Saskatchewan and today is cool and cloudy. I think your weather comes from the north west. Anyway... keep going your blog was great, it made me smile. I was struggling with those same feelings until this morning--but I cheated and paid a kid to cut my grass and I went to work out in airconditioning. You have a much better attitude!

Boy am I bummed..... emoticonI was on the 5 step program and decided to switch over to the Spark diet program.

Lost all my menus from the past 9 weeks.
Lost the 11.5 pounds (on my tracker) that I already lost....... I knew I was going to start over...just didn't think it through completely.

I was having trouble finding the correct calorie count I should have daily. I kept going under the lower range. Come to find out the 5 step plan was actually a maintenance plan. I misread the whole fault.

This will have to be a new beginning for me on first new beginning started back in May when I started SP and started finding all the great friends I have made so far. I've learned a lot along the way and I know I will continue learning (and helping) when and where I can.

I should have done this start the new week...Maybe I'll just do that..........go under the radar until Sundays weigh-in. The only person who will know what I ate, drank, whether I really did do the exercise or read the motivational articles....................gee that would be me.

If I learned anything from my Spark friends is I will be accountable for my actions or lack of. So I will be here doing what I've learned to do in the past 9 weeks..................10+ minutes of exercise daily, 5+ fruits/veggies daily and don't forget about the 8+ glasses of water......................

Thanks for listening................I feel better already. emoticon

Results of daily weighing....

About three weeks ago I decided to experiment with daily an article about the pros and cons so I thought I would try it. One 'pro' to this would be less stress than weekly weigh in's....................
I found it easier to say "Let it go Louie" when the number stayed the same or went up. Did a little more self pep talking (sometimes in front of the mirror for visual effect)
Even after having a great day of food tracking and exercising and water drinking the number on the scale didn't move, but my attitude did..............."it's only a number" not a scale of my achievements.
They say you could see a pattern in your weight loss (or not) and make some kind of adjustments with food etc. The only pattern I saw was 2-3 days of staying the same and than go up or go down by 1/2 pound. Didn't see a need to change what I was doing.
Now the question is will I continue?
I think so................working hard everyday and being consistent in my goal of a healthy lifestyle doesn't lie solely in a number that shows up on a device that has no sense of humor. Or maybe it does have a sense of humor and the joke is on me..............HAHA! I'm going to keep emoticon and laugh at the emoticon when I need to......

    So i love this blog i love how you experimented. i find that im one of those people who ways in everyday, the scale is my friend once was afraid of it but realized its just telling me what ive been doing. if its up its because i havent been doing everthing that im suppose too and i had some pizza emoticon yeah that will make it go up but if im eating right it shows me how much of a good job that i have been doing and it gives me a new number that makes me happpy. The scale once was my enemy it made me feel bad at times but not no more. like you said the scale can not rule your life and it doesnt ne more. I emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I read the article about daily weigh ins as well. It's nice to read the results of someone who tried this method out. I am glad it is working for you. But which ever method one uses concerning weigh ins the important lesson, and the moral of your blog is your concluding line "don't let that scale rule your lifestyle"

Another month has gone by

Well, here we are a new day, week and month all together. Day started out gloomy........looked outside could barely see my back yard the fog was so thick.
Sun started coming out about an hour later and now the sun is just smiling down on us.
Back in February I was doing e-diet on line. It worked well for me and I lost 10 pounds. Than while searching the net I found "Sparkpeople". Went through a lot of the site and decided to give it a try. Here we are a couple of months later and I have lost another 10 pounds, but gained so much more. Before "Sparkpeople" I was just know the too much, feel guilty maybe eat some more. Exercise once in a while, after all I was still losing weight.
Now I'm working towards a healthy and happy lifestyle. I bought "The Spark" and read it. I'm pleased with how things are going. I understand more about what and why in the caloric intake and I understand the what and why about daily exercise. I feel more energized.
But the most important part of this journey are my new friends.........spark people just like me working towards the same end, feeling my feelings, and always there. Day or night I could get on my computer and some one would be there with "words of wisdom" I'm so glad I made the switch to "Sparkpeople" and am truly looking forward to this month and many more....... emoticon

I feel exactly the same way! Diet is a four letter word to me now -- it's LIFESTYLE. And even more importantly is the dear people on this list like yourself! Just makes the day brighter!

Yes, it was extremely foggy out here, too. But it started brightening up around 9 am. Now it's sunny and pretty out. Guess we're in for hot and humid the next couple of days. Wow!

I feel the same way. I'm not sure if I would still be 'dieting' with out the support and encouragement of my spark friends like you. But because of this community I feel strong and am focused on my goal. I am not 'dieting' I am changing my life style.
