Just plain frustrated...

Friday, April 13, 2012

I have stopped getting any notices to my email account from SparkPeople. I thought I had it taken care of a day ago, but now I'm right back to where I started. If I don't check my Spark page to see if any one commented on it, or if anyone commented on my friend feed etc. I just don't know what's going on....
I posed the question to "tech support" and so far nothing there either. If anyone has had this problem and knows how to rectify it I would appreciate your in put.
Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give. and Thanks for stopping by and listening to this rant....Hugs to all.

Personally, I've never gotten a response from tech support. I wish you luck with that one! Is there a limit to how many "bytes" you can have in your email account? (For example 5 MB) If you have a lot of saved messages this might be taking up valuable space. . . Just a suggestion. Hope you get this solved soon!

Sometimes it helps tp go to your tools and click on clear recent history and then check cache and cookies and okay. It will have you log in again and sometimes this clears up glitches.

Sounds like some email systems do not handle the notifications well - and I suspect SP occassionally upgrades their systems so the formerly familiar notices look like spam to the system! I sure hope you get past it!

Note to self

Thursday, March 29, 2012

Yesterday started out like most days lately. Breakfast, exercise, some running around, lunch and than I turned this nice day into a calorie disaster......been doing some campaigning for our mayor's race coming up on Tuesday. Stopped at a place called Bert's.....this is where the downfall begins....had a glass of Guinness, a handful of salted peanuts in shells topped it off with a cheese burger with fried onions. Went home and had to get ready for a candidate forum (which turned out really well). Had two cups of coffee during the forum and couldn't pass up the homemade biscuit. Weighed myself this morning to calculate the damage and yes it was up 2 pounds......will take this tiger by the tail and do the best I have ever done for the rest of the week.......not an easy thing to do as Saturday is DH birthday and we have plans to go to Red Lobster for dinner. This is his favorite place. I had this week planned out to include this outing......now I need to go to plan B.
The reason I am blogging this is to keep me accountable for my actions....like I have told others to do. Thanks for stopping by and have a healthy day. Hugs!

We all slip up at one time or another. They always say that it is ok as long as we get back on the right track. Life has its ups and downs and we can't beat ourselves up about it. I am finding there are so many temptations out there when it comes to eating. I just hope I can keep on the right road this weekend when gone from home and with other girls. But am making a promise to myself that I will not beat myself up if I slip up.

Just one more thing I HAVE to share with you....yummy!

Thursday, March 08, 2012

If you know me at all you know that I love chocolate and I love cheese. Many years ago I changed over to LF cheese and still love my cheese. Almost two years ago while starting my journey here at SP I made a vow that I would only eat dark chocolate and to this day if something is milk chocolate (except a home made chocolate cake that might have milk chocolate frosting) I only eat dark chocolate.
Well last week while grocery shopping I spotted a new Philadelphia cream cheese with dark chocolate. I looked at it and decided that because of a past experience with chocolate and cheese.....it probably wouldn't be very good. This past week while looking for coupons to use I came across one for, yes, Philadelphia Indulgence dark chocolate cream cheese.....I figured this was an omen that I should at least try it. So today I bought the product along with some sweet smelling strawberries (they are finally coming back for the season). By the time I got home it was time for lunch so I decided to give said product a try. I picked out 3 big strawberries cut them in half and measured out 1 TBSP on cream cheese. It turned out to be the absolute best tasting treat I could have wanted at any time ever.......yes I am that excited about this.
The said product has 110 cal. per 2 TBSP serving, along with 7 F, 10 Chol, 75 Sod., 12 Carb, 1 Fib., 10 Sug, and 1 pro. For me these are usable stats for just another healthy treat to add to my plan. This product comes in two sizes and 8 oz. tub and a smaller size with pre portioned cups. Take this info or leave it....I recommend a try.
One more note than I'm off for a walk. Tried Diet Snapple 1/2 and 1/2. That's 1/2 lemonade and 1/2 green/black tea. (10 cal. per bottle). I'm an ice tea drinker and can always drink a glass of good lemonade (with as little sweetener as possible). This was also a good buy....quite tasty.
That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by and hugs to all of you who read this.
Let's make this another happy/healthy day. Together we can continue on our journey.

Talk about a day late and a dollar short-----I am just seeing this blog. And thank goodness I finally saw it. I am addicted to dark chocolate. I haven't eaten milk choc for probably 10 years and can't stand the after taste.

I actually stopped by to see how your neice is doing after the loss of her pet. Hope everything is going better for her.

Wow, thanks again for that tip, I may be stopping by the grocery store today and I won't have to make a list because I always remember DARK CHOCOLATE!!!!! I'm so excited.

Thanks for the tip, I am hooked on Arnold Palmer zero half and half, it is delicous , lemonade /tea with no calories, however it's hard to fine it's made by Arizona tea, and you can find the lite all the time , but the zero isn't always on the shelve, when I find it i stock up.     I too prefer dark over milk chocolate, though I don't necessarily always avoid milk chocolate.

The cream cheese sounds wonderful. I'll watch for it in our stores, here. Coupons are always nice! :-)

I'm not a big fan of tea, but have been doing better as it is so good for you, I have different herbal teas, etc. I prefer it cold over hot and will sometimes mix it with lemonade to make it more yummy. I have just recently discovered that a very tiny bit of maple syrup is good, too, but it really doesn't take much to sweeten a whole cup of tea! Maple syrup is loaded with essential minerals, so I try to eat it on purpose! My latest maple favourite is roasted on rutabaga. I had no idea rutabaga could be so good! mmmmmmm :D I got the recipe here at Spark Recipes!!! I now have a small stash of rutabagas in the fridge that I bought at half price! They are so difficult to cut, I'm thinking to put them all, whole, in the oven together to pre-cook them so they're ready to cut up and finish when I want them. :) I'm also realizing I can precook some brown rice to have on hand when I want some quick! :) Getting older and wiser! LOL

Have a great day!!!

So my scale has a sense of humor

Friday, February 17, 2012

When I first started SP I went to weighing myself weekly and than daily just to understand my fluctuations better. I settled into a weekly weigh in. This year I weigh in on Sundays (best day for me to control any weekend over eating). I also weigh myself on Wednesdays to make a check on how my week is going.
If I dare step on the scale on any other day of the week....my scale gives me a better than expected number and than the word "error" scrolls across the screen.
It's like it is laughing at me. And honestly I do laugh whenever this happens. Laughter, especially when it comes to self laughter, I think is so important on this journey. When we let other emotions take us over we tend to take downward spirals........so here's wishing you all a sense of humor scale to lighten your journey. emoticon emoticon
Thanks for stopping by. Sending hugs to all of you. emoticon
