So I am now doing "Destination Walking." So what is this new idea of mine?! Well, I love to walk but sometimes the motivation isn't there so I decided to add an incentive - destination walking. I will walk to my favorite coffee bistro - Sweet Sallies - for an iced coffee. I thought it was much further away but turns out to be only 2.5 miles round trip from my house! How cool is that. On Tuesday I leave work early at 3:30 pm since I didn't take my lunch hour. Race home, get my shorts & tee shirt on (75 degrees here in TN - how blessed am I?!), and run out the door. I make it to Sweet Sallies in record time. My steps are brisk and energetic!! Order an ice water to drink there and an iced coffee with skim milk to take with me. Yum! Less than $3 bucks and tip the barista the change. Yummy ice water slurped down and now back to walking. Off I take and soon I am rounding the bend where I work and see my student GA leaving. Hi Courtney! She says, "wow, you are doing what I want to do - be in shorts and enjoying the weather." Yup, I sure am. I pull my cell phone out to check the time...doing great. Read some text messages and back to brisk walk. Uh oh! Where's my change? I paid the coffee with a $20 bill. No change in my pocket. Oh no, I must have pulled it out when I was getting my phone! Ugh! So I race back to where I stopped to said hi to Courtney...no money. 
Oh well, an expensive cup of coffee but a wonderful "destination walk."
This morning - Wednesday - I decided to head off on another destination walk - AA meeting before work. This takes about 10 minutes to walk from my house. I am walking briskly because the meeting starts at 7:00 am and it now 7:25 am. It is okay to arrive late but want to get as much from the meeting as I can. Here we go. As I pass where I can decide either to go to work or to go the AA meeting I look at my phone for the time. Hmmm 7:30am - work or meeting?? meeting or work?? I make the right decision and continue on to the meeting. Wow, it is packed. I count 17 cars and 25 people. We have great meetings here in Cookeville, TN. I am so blessed. I skip out at 8:00 am before the closing to get to work at 8:09 am. Fun, fun!! I am loving this destination walking.
Later today I plan on walking home and then back to the cafeteria to join my husband for dinner - salad bar. 
Sounds like fun doesn't it? Get out there...walk...destination walk.
