Lifestyle Change & New Workout Schedule

Hey guys so apparently I decided to take most of the summer offÖ.well here I am after a month and a half or so and am ready kick some booty again. A couple weeks ago I tried to get motivated and begin P90X2 but honestly I couldnít get into it the warm up was mundane and the workouts nothing like the intensity of P90X I donít know maybe I wasnít in the right frame of mind but quit after the first week. So here I am again and feeling good. In the last couple weeks I have worked on getting myself mentally ready to take on another workout challenge and I have also made some lifestyle dietary choices which are 3 weeks ago I decided to go vegetarian and I havenít looked back! This has been something that I have wanted to do for a while now but never thought i was ready or strong enough but with the support of my husband (he has decided to follow suit) I feel like I can do this. I feel great donít feel like Iím missing anything and have been having fun trying new recipes! So which brings me to the new workout i have decided to go back my roots so to speak and do my 2 favourite workouts that gave me the most success so P90X/INSANITY HYBRID is gonna be the next13 weeks of my life and I am pumped! So today was day 1 and without further gabbing here are the specs of ma workout!

DAY 1 P90X CHEST & BACK + INSANITY CARDIO ABS

TOTAL W/O TIME - 1:15MIN

TOTAL CALORIES BURNED - 822

POST W/O - WHEY ISO BURST DBL CHOCOLATE PROTEIN SHAKE - 1 SCOOP WITH 1/2C WATER

Everyone has their moments where they feel like their stuck, like theyíve been treading in the same place and havenít moved an inch, at least thatís how I felt this morning. I donít know why but I have had this habit or obsession rather with getting onto the scale every morning and checking my weight. Well this morning it was up a few pounds and it honestly felt like everything inside my all my motivation all my drive everything just everything came crashing down. Itís silly I know especially because of course i took nothing into consideration ie: water weight the fact that where i live is under extremely high humidity warnings right now & that can fluctuate weight, and the list can go on & on. But I just decided to feel sorry for myself and mope around, then as i was cleaning (cause thatís what I do when Iím upset) I began to think how silly i was being, how far I have actually come and how stupid it is to let a number on a scale determine how my day is going to go or what my mood is going to be that day. I feel like so many of us let that stupid number get to us when in fact it doesnít mean anything, we have all come so far and have exceeded so much,we have pushed trough plateaus and have done workouts that we never imagined we could ever do, lifted weigh we never thought we could lift,and that number on that scale had nothing to do with that,it was only by our inner strength and determination that we have pushed and transformed our bodies to better ourselves and become healthy. So I guess what Iím getting to is even though I do have a goal weight that I am striving to reach Iím not going to obsess over the scale any longer Iím not going to let it determine who I am or how far I have come by what the number says. I am going to strive to be the healthiest that I can be, Iím going to focus on pushing forward and not letting anything or anyone keep me in one place and thatís good enough for me. So no matter what remember you are better then a number and DONíT ever let it EVER define who you are!

    I know what you mean, and I used to get on every day, but now I only do it once a week. It's enough.
Like you I have a goal weight, but I also have goal clothes that I want to fit again. One pair of pants I put on yesterday were too big! Which was great, as I thought I was "normal" sized when I bought them. Maybe I'm a smaller "normal" now?! I havent tried the ultimate goal jeans yet, and there is that one dress that I'd like to wear again come summer.
Numbers shouldn't define us you're right, but somehow they do. I guess it's all about knowing you're doing everything right (well most of the time), living healthier, feeling good about ourselves, and not letting a stink number on a scale upset us. But then sometimes that number is really motivating! Maybe we should change our goals so they aren't a number?

    It definitely filled me up. You could always make an actual salad to go with it instead of the grape tomatoes I had. I tend to eat smaller meals every 3hours or so and also have a protein shake thrown into the mix after my workouts so I'm pretty full throughout the day.

Workout:
25Min treadmill run Followed by TurboFire Upper 20
Total Time: 45min
Total Cals:773

Lunch:

Veggie wrap on whole wheat tortilla

*baby spinach

*mushroom (1/2 lg mushroom)

*grape tomatoes (about 3 sliced)

*Red onion

*Dijon Mustard

* Roasted red pepper dressing


Dinner

Steelhead Trout with bean salsa salad

So I have never cooked steelhead trout before and I donít even think I have ever eaten it so this is what I came up with.

Dressing for Trout

*1-2 cloves of garlic finely chopped

*pinch of sea salt & pepper

*hand full of parsley chopped

*Lemon Zest & Juice of 1 lemon

**I mixed this in a bowl and poured it over the trout. After pouring on the dressing I broiled the Trout for about 7min until it was seared but the topping wasnít burnt, then I transferred it to the middle oven rack & baked @ 375 until finished I donít know about 10/15min maybe depending on your oven.

Bean Salad Salsa

*Store bought can bean mix

*Corn

*red Onion Diced

*grape tomatoes halved

*green onions (I used 3)

Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and squeeze the juice of a lime mix and enjoy.
