Bye Bye Inches!

Thursday, September 10, 2009

I took my measurements today and I'm absolutely overjoyed with the results!!! I have lost 2" off my waist, 1.5" off my hips, 1.3" off my thighs, 0.5" off my upper arms, and 1" off my blashie! Sometimes I'm iffy about the measurements because I'm not sure if I'm actually measuring at the same spot I did last time. I remeasured every body party like a million times. LoL! I've been noticing that when I put on my jeans they slide right on and have that perfect fit. No little stomach fat hanging out the front and my blashie doesn't stick out over my jeans either. I'll look in the mirror and have an outfit on that used to have all those little parts sticking out when I first wore it and then at the end of the day it would be stretched out enough so everything would be good. But now, I'll be in that same outfit and nothing is sticking out and everything fits just the way it should. It's so exciting :]

On another note: I'm still sick...just a sore throat and mucous that doesn't want to come out. The over the counter meds seem to be working a little better. I really want this sickness to be done and over with! Thanks for all the get well wishes! Tomorrow is weigh in. Hopefully the result is as good as the measurements. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week :]

Your measurement results are excellent! How exciting, big congrats. You're doing fantastic. It's so nice when clothes fit that were tight before. It's the ultimate sign of progress. I always worry I'm not measuring myself the right place either but I figure it'll work out overtime somehow haha.
What is a blashie?
Hope you feel better soon!

Soooo not down with this sickness :P

Tuesday, September 08, 2009

I have been sick since Friday! It won't go away! My immune system sucks. lol. I've been taking medicine and its not helping what so ever. My voice likes to come and go as it pleases. lol. Yesterday at work my coworkers would hear me talk and they'd be like, "What the heck happened to your voice?!!?" lol. It's gotten a little better today. I sooo do not want to take a trip to the doctor. More than likely they're just gonna ask what's wrong and give me some scripts. So, I'm really hoping these home meds start kicking in real soon. I do have to admit that this sickness has made me less motivated to work out. I made myself get on the treadmill today cause I am not wanting that ticker to go up this Friday!!!! I want that 5 to stay in there. lol. Wish me luck on keeping up with my fitness and making this sickness go away!!

Hope everyone has a great week :]

I hope you are feeling better by now! I have the same thing- totally lost my voice, chest is burning- how long did it take you to get over it, and what were you taking for it? I would appreciate any help at this point, as I don't want to go to the doc, either!

Thanks,
Mandy

Week 6 on SP!

Sunday, September 06, 2009

So, I have been on SP for 6 weeks now and I'm down 5.8 pounds :] I'm pretty excited. Tasha just told me the other day that you could tell that I was losing weight so that got me pretty excited! By the way, emoticon to her on getting to her 15 lb mark! I take my measurements tomorrow so hopefully those numbers make me just as excited as the weight number! I am still absolutely loving Spark and the people that I have met on here. They are all just so amazing and are all doing such a great job!

Today was Day 11 on my Shred. It's going great. I love Jillian Michaels. I think I'm gonna look into other workout vidoes she does. Anybody doing any others by her? I've been switching back and forth from Level 1 to Level 2. Haven't gotten the courage yet to up it to Level 3 just yet. That might be in a couple of days though. We'll see how I'm feeling... I barely have a voice and I'm so congested. It's not fun trying to breathe during the workouts. lol.

I am absolutely in love with my HRM! I'm so glad I made the purchase. Tasha was right... its very addicting to have one now. I'm going to try to start doing the calorie deficit thing not that I know how many calories I'm actually burning. I think I understand where all the numbers come from. lol.

My *goal* for this month is to starting running after I put my daughter on the bus and not go back to bed. I just like sleep too much. lol

I hope everyone has a great week :]

I'm glad you're still loving sparkpeople! I love my HRM too... addicted. It's great to have a real good estimate of the calories I'm burning.

I have Jillians Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. Can't recall if we've discussed. It's definitely tough. It's pretty long and you're moving the whole time but it is one amazing workout. I would say it's comparable to the intensity level of a cardio workout class at a gym, if you've ever taken one. like a cardio kickboxing or something, but it combines a lot of different workout circuits. There are plenty of ways to make it harder or easier as you advance though, you can push yourself as much as you want. I am planning on getting No More Trouble Zones also, i've heard this one is a really great (killer) strength workout.

Congrats on the 5.8 pounds lost so far! I hope you're having a good weekend!

Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers...

Monday, August 31, 2009

I just want to thank all of my SP friends for keeping me in their thoughts and prayers. It's very uplifting to get messages from people you really don't even know that show that they care about you.
My bad news was that my 24 year old second cousin from Florida was riding his bicycle and got hit by a car Saturday afternoon. He was in critical condition, on life support and practically prounouced brain dead. Sunday morning the doctors told my family that there was no brain activity at all, so my family had to make the tough decision of pulling the plug. He passed away a little before Sunday afternoon. From what I've been told by my grandma, my aunt (his mom) is doing really bad. She doesn't want to talk to anybody and I'd probably be the same way if I was in her shoes. Her other two children are trying to stay strong for her but I'm sure it's just as tough for them because I can't imagine what it would be like to lose a sibling. So, please also keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks again to everyone of my friends here on SP emoticon

It is hard, I've lost a brother and a sister, it was hard on my mother, and it took her some time to get over it. Sorry for your loss, hope with time she will start to live again!

I am so sorry to hear this, so very tragic. That's about my age and I bike all the time and stories like that just terrify me... I'm shaken up a bit. Your family is in my thoughts... I feel awful for his mother, what could be worse than losing a child?

My cousin was killed in a bike race in Chicago 2 years ago. A truck didn't see them riding and ran him into a street light pole. He died about 2 hours later in the hospital. Sadly, things kinds of things happen all the time and it really sucks. But it teaches us left behind that our lives are incredibly important and there is no time to waste. I can't imagine losing a child, or a sibling, but my heart goes out to your family.

Level 2 on 30DS!

Saturday, August 29, 2009

So, last night I upped my game to Level 2 on my 30DS workout! I absoultely love it better than level 1! lol. I was staying with the beginner's on Level 1 but I decided I wanted to switch up my workout a little bit since I had been doing the same one for 4 days straight. And I'm glad I did because I definitely like Level 2 better than Level 1. I'm still sweating like a pig though. lol. I haven't noticed any results but today when I put on a pair of shorts that are usually pretty tight and I have my jelly roll sticking out the top, there was none of it! It fit very comfortably. I was very excited. I can't wait for my next weigh in and measurements :]
24 more days to go!!!!
