Gotta Get It Together!!

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

Gotta get it together because that's the reality of it all.

I got reaccepted into the Nursing program and started on Jan. 7. This is my second time around with this class so it should be easier...should be. Of course, nursing classes stress me out A LOT and when I get stressed I let it get in control of me and then I lose focus. I'd like to say that I won't let it happen BUT I know that's not realistic but I WILL work on it not taking over me completely.

Reality hit me too because my wedding is less than 10 months away!! AHHHH!! For some people that might seem like a long time away but really it isnt when I have 22 lbs to lose and maintain before then. I don't plan on doing any wedding planning while in school so I won't have that stress for a few months. The bestie (TASHISNOQUITTER) and I are trying to figure out a weight loss competition to do so we can both stay focused and lose weight for the wedding. We were thinking that whoever lost the most weight percentage wise would get their dress paid for. Like if Tasha won then I would buy her bridesmaid dress but if I won then however much her bridesmaid dress was she would have to put that amount towards my wedding dress. I'm already spending enough money on this wedding so I don't know what else would be enough motivation to not want to spend more hahaha

So here's the plan:

*Follow WW PointsPlus system. I don't have the money to go to the meetings but I still have all my stuff to be able to keep track.

*Zumba whenever I schedule is crazy so some weeks I can only go once a week and others I can go two or three.

*Make myself work out at home at least 2-3 times a week. I've pinned a crap ton of work outs to do so I just need to them or start Ripped in 30 up.

*PLAN ! PLAN! PLAN! I'm already stressed out enough as it is so I need to stay ahead with planning and with school work so I don't get behind and let the stress take over me.

*Eat out only one or two times during the week.

*Get to 160 lbs by the end of February.

you can do it chicie! One thing that has recently helped with my crazy schedule is allowing myself just 20 mins. I can always find 20 mins. If i just do 20 mins, then i stop my DVD wherever I'm at; and I complete it the following day. It's better than nothing. And I find myself not doing the workout at all if i feel like i have to complete it because I will try to find time to do the whole thing, which is like, NEVER! =P

Hope my tip helps out a little =)

Yay! Your wedding will be here so soon. That is actually GREAT motivation - lucky you! I like an event that's far enough out (and meaningful enough) that it really excites me. You can totally do this! Good luck with Nursing classes & congrats

Great plan! I'm sure if you stick to it you will be fine. Classes used to stress me out too, what helped was making sure I didn't save all of my school work for the weeknds. That way I had some free time to enjoy on my days off instead of spending the whole weekend stressing about papers, studying, etc.

Trottin' into November

Sunday, November 04, 2012

November is the start of the holiday season... DUN DUN DUN!!!! Last year I actually managed to maintain my weight during the holiday season so maybe this year I'll lose some :]

So here's the plan...

1. PLAN MEALS!! - Use WW point system and portion control!!
2. ZUMBA as often as I can go to the classes
3. Ripped in 30
4. Lose 0.5-1 lb a week

Easy enough.... so now I just need to stick with it!!

- I'll be reapplying for the Nursing program on Monday so hopefully I get reaccepted and then I'll finish my last semester (again) and finally graduate in April!! Cross your fingers for me!!
- We finally found a venue!! That was the biggest stressor with all the wedding planning but then I realized how much more we actually still have to do. I don't even have my dress yet lol I wanted to lose a little more weight before actually trying on dresses so I guess I should get on it cause I'll probably be going dress shopping in January.
- In August, my friend had to get rid of her rott/lab dog because she was moving to Wyoming and couldn't find a place to rent that would allow big dogs. Well, the fiance and I were discussing about getting a new dog anyone so we took her in. Last Friday, I had my cousins visiting with my two 3 year old nieces so I put both my dogs outside while we were unloading the SUV. The next thing I know I hear screaming so I ran outside to where I heard screaming and saw my dog Tola (the rott/lab) attacking another dog. I have never been so scared in my life and I had no idea what to do. The other dog was going on a walk with the owner and his daughter. I have no idea why Tola went after the dog because shes never acted aggressive towards our Westie and she used to live with 2 other dogs before. So, I have been very stressed because I had to pay for the vet bill which I ended up having to borrow money from my parents. The owner called the cops on me so I had to go to court on Friday and luckily only had to pay court costs. Now, I'm trying to find someone to take her which I haven't had luck with at all (which I don't blame people for not wanting her). The whole situation just totally sucks.
- So with that above sitatuion, I have now become stressed over finances. And with Abbie's birthday and Christmas coming up too, it doesn't help with the stress :[ I'll figure things out... I always do :]

Thanksgiving - 18 days!!
Abs Birthday & Christmas - 7 weeks... OMG!!
My 26th Bday - 14 weeks
My Wedding - 342 days...Less than a year away now :]

Congrats on finding a venue, and great goals for November. I'm so sorry about the dog attack that is so sad :(. My friend just had to put her dog down because he was too aggressive towards people they were afraid what would happen. I hope you can find her a home where she can be happy. Thats a tough situation to be in though, hang in there hopefully something will work out.

You have very set and do-able goals!! you can do this!!!

Sorry about the dog issue, I can only image the stress. I am right there with you on the whole Christmas and a dozen or so birthdays coming and still trying to play catch up on some bills. So my stressers are of course $$$ and trying to work at getting this weight off!! I feel like I am working out so hard but hardly see the results! Kinda sad but I am about to do a countdown to tax return and then I might get some breathing room.

Congrats on less than yr til your BIG day!!!!

Mid Oct Check In

Thursday, October 18, 2012

Time to see how I've been doing...or should I say haven't been doing...

October Goals

1. Continue to lose 0.5 - 1 lb a week - I've been staying at 165...its better than gaining but it's time to make the scale go down!!

1. Log food to keep track of points - I haven't been very consistent with this...I'll do it like one or two days during the week
2. Pre-plan meals - haven't done this at all...need to start preplanning a couple days at a time

1. Finish Ripped in 30 by October 22 - I haven't done Ripped since the end of September...time to restart it
2. Zumba/Run twice a week - I've been going sparatically but not consistently
3. Check off workouts in workout calendar - I need to make this more visible and accessible to me

The first weigh in for my Biggest Loser Challenge at work is this week. We'll see what this scale has to say... I'm sure itll say more than what my scale says...thats how it always seems to work lol. Maybe this challenge will help me get things back together. I know what I need to do and what I need to focus on so I just need to DO IT!!!!

Stay focused and determined Sparkies!! emoticon

It's Already October?!!?

Sunday, September 30, 2012

I can't believe tomorrow is October!! Where does the time go?!!? So, I'm going to review my September goals and then make October goals...which will probably be around the same goals lol

emoticon Review of September Goals

1. Continue to lose 0.5 - 1 lb a week - I was doing great at first and then the last two weeks I didn't do so great. In all actuality I only lost 1 whole whopping pound the month of September!! Not going to get anywhere if I keep this up.

1. Log food to keep track of points - I've still been iffy with this...probably why I ended up not doing so great the last two weeks... go figure...
2. Look up more new recipes and try them - have the recipes...havent made them yet...

1. Make workout calendar - I did this and I already have it filled out for October!! woot woot!
2. Start Ripped in 30 - Finish by the end of September - I actually started it on Sept 22. I start Level 2 tonight!! so now I should be done with this on October 22
3. Zumba or Run twice a week - I went to zumba at least once a week. I haven't been in the mood for running lately so I haven't done that...
4. On days I work do a bodyrocktv workout or at least push ups and sit ups - it's been hard enough for me just to do Ripped in 30 at the end of a work day since I'm totally exhausted so I haven't done this lol

I didn't do so bad but I know I can do better!! I have to push myself!!

emoticon October Goals

1. Continue to lose 0.5 - 1 lb a week

1. Log food to keep track of points
2. Pre-plan meals

1. Finish Ripped in 30 by October 22
2. Zumba/Run twice a week
3. Check off workouts in workout calendar

emoticon My work is actually starting a Biggest Loser challenge from October 1 - January 1. I'm really excited about it. Half the money goes to the winner and the other half of the money goes to a nurse that is making first aid kits for a mission trip to Guatemala. I'm hoping this helps me stay focused and dedicated! And it runs through the holidays so thats even better for me to stay on track during the holidays!!

emoticon Hope everyone had a successful September and let's kick some BUTT in October!!

Ripped In 30

Sunday, September 23, 2012

I FINALLY started Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 DVD. Instead of having 3 different levels like 30 Day Shred, this one has 4 different levels so you go up a level once a week. Yesterday was my first day and I just got done with the second day!! emoticon I am definitely sore just from yesterday so I'm sure I'll be feeling it more tomorrow. I got back on track with my eating so just gotta stay on track. I usually eat good for breakfast and lunch and then dinner comes around and I stuff my face...its worse on days that I work. Gotta emoticon

Day 2 of Ripped...gotta get rid of that blashie (that is what i call my fupa/stomach/muffin top area lol)

I want to wear this dress to my cousin's wedding in 2 weeks so I'm hoping a little of the blashie will go away from doing Ripped. Please excuse the messy/outdated bathroom...were in the middle of remodeling it lol

I cracked up at the "blashie," not at its existence because I know how much I hate my own, but the name. That dress is super shame in investing in some spanx to smooth things out. Keep going chick!

I love Ripped in 30!! Keep it up...when I first started, last summer (not this past summer) I didn't lose anything doing the Ripped in 30 but I definitely gained muscle and endurance (also, I wasn't restricting my calories, no wonder). But now I go back and do them and feel good because I don't struggle with them as much (they are still awesome workouts, but when I first tried them I had trouble making it through, and I was modifying). So embrace the soreness, you're doing great and are only going to get better!
