Day 1 of my 30 Day Shred!

Monday, August 24, 2009

My 30 Day Shred DVD came in the mail today and I was sooo excited to start it. All I can say is HOLY CRAP! that workout totally beat my butt. lol. I was determined to start it today so when I came home from my 35 min walk/jog in the park I popped the DVD in. I totally felt all my muscles getting a workout. I have this feeling that I'm going to be super sore tomorrow. lol. It'll be okay though cause I know this is going to pay off in the end. I am soooo determined to make that scale move by this Friday!

I purchased a digital scale today too so that will probably help me a lot better with knowing exactly where I'm at with my weight loss.

Hope everyone has a great week. My week is going to be a little sad :[
Tonight I have kindergarten open house for my daughter. She is sooo ready to start school. She starts Thursday. I'm a little nervous and I can feel my motherly protection coming out in me because I don't want her to grow up anymore :[ But I know it's reality but it's just taking me a little while to get used to. So, everyone wish me luck for actually being able to let go of my daughter when I drop her off on Thursday.

Awww first day of school. It's great that she is excited though!! You will have a rough first day but you will be so proud of her!

I didn't even think 30DS was too bad when I did it, because I had already been doing her more difficult longer Banish Fat Boost Metabolism video... but I was still totally sore the next day. The strength and ab exercises are great.

a WHOLE month!!

So, my weight didn't change again. But, I am okay with that. I know what my problem is and I try so hard to change it. I've increased my workout but I'm definitely not watching my calorie intake as good as I should be. I calculate the stuff I eat but there will be days where I just eat all the junk food in the world and there goes my calorie counting for the day. And I've also went out of town and have been to two concerts so the alcohol didn't help at all either. lol. I've read articles about how to control your cravings and stuff but I sometimes I'll do what it tells me to do and it won't work until I have that exact thing I'm craving for. And then of course when I have it I just want to have more of it and so I shove it in my face. Now, I'm not trying to make excuses cause I know there are so many out there that actually control their cravings and don't give in. But that right there is my weakness to this whole eating healthier thing. So does anybody have any tips? I will try them all. lol. I'm ok that the scale didn't go down this week because I peeked at my measurements and I have lost some there. So they made me happy but I eventually want that scale to go down too. I'm really pushing myself this week. Hope everyone has a great week :]

I'm right there with ya Ashley!!! I got on the scale today and I gained back the 1 pound I lost last week because of my bad choices over the weekend. Losing weight is REALLY hard but you have the right mindset! Let's working SUPER hard this week! Hopefully we will be happy on weigh in day!

You can indulge in your favorite things, just don't over-indulge. And just because you had a bad day doesn't mean that you can throw in the towel!

The weight doesn't necessarily have to go down - but those inches coming off and the clothes fitting better is always a good sign! Try to get the calorie and food intake in check, and keep working at it. You'll find a groove!

Week 3 on SP!

Thursday, August 13, 2009

so I'm writing a day early because I'm going out of town this weekend and probably won't be back on until Sunday night. I'm gonna miss SP!

This week I started doing a lot more running than usual. I did pretty decent on staying in my calorie intake range. there were a couple days where I didn't do so hot :/ I weighed myself this morning and I am still at 163 lbs. It's getting a little aggravating not seeing the scale go down but I know the scale going down isn't everything. I just hate when the plateus happen cause that's how it used to be when I would "diet" before and it would bum me out. My best friend is telling my to just be patient and a lot of others are saying not to worry about it so I'm gonna do my best and keep up what I've been doing....maybe tweak it just a little bit.

Hope everyone has a great weekend :]

Have a great weekend, and if you can keep running, do so! I'd love to be able to keep running - I do more walking on the treadmill than anything and I bike some places, but I'd love to run. What a great way to clear your head - and enjoy scenery!

A little bit of patience may do the trick in running for a couple of weeks ~

Hang in there, it can take 6-8 weeks for the scales to move and sometimes it's not about the scales!

Hey it's week 3 and you are doing good. Don't count on the scale too much. Take your measurements with measurement tape too and in a few weeks you'll start seeing the results that you desire:-).

That's great that you've been really active this week! Keep that up and you'll see results in no time. Plateaus are rough but you gotta hang in there... if you just give up you'll definitely never make it past the plateau. Always mix things up and keep your body guessing and you'll get through it!

WEEK 2 on SP :]

Friday, August 07, 2009

I have to admit that this week was pretty rough for me. I worked out a little more than usual but I definitely did not watch my calorie intake as well. I didn't lose any weight this week and that's ok with me because I know I slacked and I know that there are some weeks where you don't lose weight BUT im losing inches somewhere. lol. I really don't know why this week was so hard for me to fight my cravings. I think it's because I had a lot more down time at my work because I'm doing my military work for 2 weeks and it's not as crazy busy as my civilian job. so there will be times where I'm just sitting there wanting to shove my face with food and I really don't have much to occupy me! So, I'm starting fresh and making sure week 3 goes better for me :]

I have made a goal!! After losing 10 lbs I am going to be me some new running shoes :]

Hope everyone has a great week!!

I'm glad you're not letting yourself get down over not losing this week. You didn't gain, so it couldn't have been too bad! It's small steps toward a BIG lifestyle change. So bravo on picking up the exercise this week, you can work on incorporating some better nutrition habits this week! You're on your way to something great. Keep it up!
When you decide to go for the running shoes, go to a specialty running store. They analyze your gait and recommend shoes for you! I got my newest pair from a store like this and it was SO worth the bit of a markup to have shoes that really work for me. You don't want blisters or shoes that are too tight to stand in your way of any running success!

It is best not to beat yourself up over not doing so well. Do not look back. Look ahead to tomorrow. Take it one step, one day at a time! It is a learning experience.

WEEK 1 on SP!

Friday, July 31, 2009

I'm so proud that I lost 2 pounds! I def wouldn't have been able to do it without the motivation I get from everyone, espeically my best friend. There were days where I would cave and let my sweet tooth cravings take over me. One time I actually felt bad for eating a funnel cake that I threw almost more than half away. Everytime I get a sweet craving I try to drink water but sometimes it just doesn't cut it.

For my fitness, I've actually gotten up to running for 15 mins straight. I usually don't do that unless I'm getting timed for my fitness test in the Air Force. lol. But I've realized that I need to start covering up where the time is on the treamill and I'll end up doing a lot better.

Well, hopefully next week's weigh in is just as good as this week's. Hope everyone is reaching their goals!!

Congrats! It feels amazing to see the scale go down and know that because of your actions, you were able to make it happen. It's easier to get in your recommended amount of water if you just drink it all the time...I know it sounds weird, but I drink a ton more if I make sure I always have water around me. Those nasty sweet cravings happen all the time. Once in a while you will give in to them, but the key is to not beat yourself up and just make a better decision next time. Oh and the treadmill thing, I have the same problem. I started reading magazines and stuff just so I don't see the time. It helps. Good luck on your next weigh-in!
