So I was a little upset that I haven't been able to get to the gym this week due to recovering from a sprained ankle. This morning the scale was calling me but I was afraid to step on. I did it anyway and was pleasantly surprised to see that I am now down almost 27 pounds and didn't gain any weight this week.

Now my goal is 35 pounds down by May 5th. I want to walk down the aisle and get my master's degree feeling proud of my weight loss. I can see it...not too much longer now.

Today was a very nice day for the Sparker in me. I was standing outside my classroom and a teacher passing by said, "You have to tell me what you're doing. You're wasting away!" Now, that is very far from the truth as I still have over 100 pounds to lose, but I felt good. Little did I know, there were more compliments in store for me.

At our after school meeting, two co-workers suddenly became very serious and asked me "what I was doing" because they could tell I have lost weight. I was excited to tell them about the changes I have made in my life, especially Spark People.

These were just the things that I needed to hear (and share) since I haven't been able to be as active this week since injuring my ankle last week. I am slowly getting better and was even able to get to the gym tonight for some light cardio, but it did me good to hear that people are noticing that I'm losing weight and inches. Wasting away I not so sure, but I'm working toward my goal and that makes me happy.

Back on Track

Today I most definitely made up for my vacation. I had a good breakfast and added one more bottle of water to my routine. I finished the evening with time at the gym on the elliptical. I feel accomplished today and can't wait until tomorrow so I can do it all again.

Vacation Recovery

So today I am trying to get back on track from making some not so healthy decisions over the last 3 days. Thursday was my birthday at my favorite Italian restaurant and I tried to be good. I ate lots of salad and only half of my entree. I also asked for a baby cake so that there wouldn't be much left and gave my mother the leftovers to take home instead of bringing the temptation into my own home.

Friday and Saturday my husband planned a trip for us to Cherokee North Carolina and I tried my best to find a place that served "good" food, but there is not much to choose from in small mountain towns. I also didn't get in my water, which made me sluggish.

After those small set backs, I gained three pounds, but I started strong today by going to the gym for cardio and strength training. Here's to tomorrow and my continuing to fight the good fight of healthy living.
