Racce Day

Sunday, July 19, 2009

well, it's here. The Elkhart County 4-H Fair Road Run. Race day is offically on us. I'm a little nervous, but I know I will do just fine. My goal is to bet the train! For those of you that have no idea what I am talking about when I say "beat the train" every year during the road race Conrail holds off all trains for while. Well awhile to them is about a half hour. During the road race ALWAYS there is a train that will go through the race and stop half of the runners! So I have decided that this year I am going to beat the train, if I can. if not not big deal. I'll just slow down the pace and when those crossing rails go up, we will fly by all the runners that have stoppped running! Wish me luck. I'll let you know how I did

Elkhart County 4-H fair

It's that time of year again, the week that I dred andthat I look forward to! Although this year, I am acutally looking more forward to it than I have before. The reason being that I am finally achieving a goal that I have set for my self in years past. The last 4 1/2 years I have said that "next year I am going to run in the road race" that takes place before our county parade. And this year is that year that I am going to do it. Went and paid the entry fee yesterday and am now going to be running in the 3.2 mile road race. Although this year is actually going to be a bittersweet one for me I think. My mom is going to be running it with me. And she has just started running. Although she was a "jock" pretty much in high school, she hasn't really done much since then. I mean she plays golf, but I am meaning the activities that she did when she was in high school. She played Basketball, Track, ran water out to the football players, I mean she was just a "tom boy" if you ever saw one! I love my mother dearly, but I am just so much of a girly girl as you can get it isn't even funny! So I'm sure raising me has been a challenge for her. But now that I am older and in my late twenties and her and I have more things to talk about she has changed. So having her run with me on Sunday is going to be something that I will always cherish.

When I got into fitness when I was 24 or so, and have done an ungodly amount of classes and things, but finding something and sticking to it and seeing the changes that my body can do is an amazing thing! Getting my family into slowly has truely been so much fun and rewarding for me! Running in my first 5k in may and then running in my first half marathon in June and setting a goal for myself to run in at least one race a month is something that I look forward to achieving. And I look forward to one day achieving another goal and running on another half marathon with my mother.

seeing progress

Well I am starting to feel like I am getting somewhere. I have decieded not to worry so much about what I eat, and just listen to what my body is telling me. Not that I am going over board when I eat, but I do have at times will just eat and eat until I can't eat anymore and just feel like vomiting. So I have decided to just eat healthy. And I love it. Thanks for all the support!

Getting Back on track

Monday, October 27, 2008

I have been watching what I eat, as I always do, but this past weekend while my husband and I were at our friends house, sitting in the kitchen as us wives always seem to do, we all realized that we have sparkpages, and decieded that we needed to add eachother as friends.
Not to sound rude or anything, but I am the littlest of us all and most people tell me that I don't need to lose any weight, it's not that I am wanting to lose a ton of weight but that I just want to tone myself down and feel healthy. I am a huge fan of helping others reach their goals and support them in the goals that they have set.
I am doing this in support of my friends and to also get my husband on a healthy eating choice. emoticon
