Ripped in 30

Sunday, September 04, 2011

I did the D1W1 in the Ripped in 30 workout from Jillian. I loved it! It didn't seem that hard (I didn't think it was as hard as the 30 Day Shred) but after I was done I felt it in my muscles. It still made me sweat, and I got winded, but made it through it! I hope to be able to do this all they way through!

I joined the BL challenge for the parents of infants group. Between my treadmill workouts, Jillian dvds and the last chance workout dvd I hope to kick some butt in this challenge. I just have to remember that I have to eat more for nursing. Heck with LCW I could do that the night before weigh ins just like on the show! lol

Cold weather today here...finally! Made for a good night of sleeping...hoping for the same tonight. We went outside today to wear off the pent up energy from the heat and humidity we have had and the boys did nothing but run for almost an hour straight! That should knock them out!

No big plans for the holiday weekend here. My hubbys away and I am not doing anything too crazy by myself with the three kids...I will play outside more tomorrow with them I am sure and find some more mommy time to exercise, I hope...baby girl is getting kinda clingy...boo

I hope everyone has a safe and active Monday! Keep moving!!!

Nothing yet today...but wait till the kids go to bed!

Saturday, September 03, 2011

I haven't done any exercise today...but I am ready to do something after they go to bed! Don't know if I am going to do Jillian (scary) or Bob with BL Yoga (still scary just not as much). Either way I plan to do one or the other tonight! Instead of doing something while the kids napped, I curled up with them and napped...it was good for the soul and has me ready to go now :-)

I watched Jillian's Ripped in 30 and got nervous...I never really did good on her 30 day shred, but wanted to add to my collection...and since I have been doing good at the gym I figured it wouldn't hurt to get something that I wanted.

Yesterday's run put me: You have walked 4.2 miles.
You have passed Bywater.
It is 2.8 miles to the next landmark.
You have 453.8 miles to reach Rivendell.

I love having a trackable walking goal like this. It makes the walk so much more fun. I think I might hop on the elliptical again this upcoming week...I am scared after the first day on there.

Well, time to call the hubby than put the kids down...

Good luck everyone and keep moving! emoticon

I envy you for having the willpower to say, "Ok the kids are taking a nap...now im gonna take a nap too"....I try, the only thing that goes through my head is, "i got this to do and thhat to do and it will be soooo much easier if he's asleep...that way i know he wont cry or need me for anything"....I have 2 boys, and my oldest is in school and my youngest still takes naps and i know that i really should take one too if i need it....but i feel sooo guilty cause i lose that 1hr or so of the day, when i should be doing sumthg productive....my hubby works long hours, sumtimes 14-16 hrs a day and so i am the primary care giver for my boys...they are never away from me and i feel it too LOL...i have tried to do yoga to relax myself my son...i tried it a few times shortly b/f nap time and it hasnt worked for me....if u have any suggestions, they wld be greatly appreciated LOL emoticon emoticon emoticon

What I want to do and What I have to do

Friday, September 02, 2011

I really want to go to the gym today...however my list of things to do is getting longer and longer. My husband is still gone, so I have to rely on others to help me with the kids. I don't like asking because I feel like I am bothering some. I have two extra kids for the daytime hours today and was going to have my grandparents come over after the kids left and I went to the bank...however, I need to go to the dreaded Walmart now and get some groceries. It would be getting too late for the kids and grandparents if I were to try and go after that and supper...It wouldn't be too big of a deal if I didn't have to nurse my youngest first. Its a disappointment for my day. But on the bright side I am getting Ripped in 30 today, so maybe I will do that instead of running. But I really want to run...never thought I would say that, but I do!!

I have been tempted every month since my babe was born to switch over to formula...making it easier on those who volunteer to watch her, but I can't bring myself to do it. I think knowing that its better for her, not to mention cheaper for me is what keeps me doing it.

I am keeping my points up each day...my own personal goal, and love seeing them go up each day. I can't wait to reach my next level! Spark people is the motivation I needed to get back in shape after baby, I love that it is free and still gives the support and motivation that the more expensive sites do...if not better! Thank you Spark People!!

Everyone have a good Friday and keep moving!

It's great that you're going to have the option of doing the Ripped in 30 on the days that you just can't make it out to the gym!

As for the breast feeding - if you are enjoying it, you should absolutely keep doing it, but if you are finding yourself feeling negative about it, I can assure you it isn't the end of the world to quit. I formula fed my first two, pumped exclusively for #3 who was ill (and on the rare occasions when the doctors tried to feed her through a gastro tube, they fed her some fancy formula anyway!) & I breast fed #4 for 10 months. Breast feeding is only best if it is making you and baby happy! Could you pump so that you aren't quite so tied down to baby? Pumping is a great compromise because it's a one time cost instead of the ongoing cost of formula, baby still gets what he needs, and you get a bit more freedom! It also allows others to bond with baby in the special way that only feeding time provides! My DH really missed feeding #4 before I started pumping some of the time. My formula fed kids have been just as healthy as my breast fed babe too :)

Have a great weekend & I hope you make it out to the gym sometime over the next couple days!

Best wishes to you and the babe. Mothers do sacrifice for the benefits of the child. I love SparkPeople. It gets me through tough times.

Way to go. I did a marathon a few years ago by walking 1 minute and jogging 5 minutes. I was doing a 10-11 minute mile and I felt great. I need to get back into my walk/jog routine.

A busy week...how to fit in my exercise?

Tuesday, August 30, 2011

This is the last week before school starts. There is so much going on, I don't know how I will be able to fit in my cardio workouts. It makes me sad to think I might not be able to do them, but with the hubby gone and needing to find a sitter around the schedule I have I don't know what to do. I have a treadclimber downstairs, but I LOVE the treadmill at the gym so much more. I don't know what to do...

I have been doing good at logging in and getting points! Its funny how the small things like that are fun...but it also gets my mind in the healthy mode since I do a lot of this right away in the morning. Who can not think twice about what they are eating after reading some of those articles?

Today's goals....
...Track my dang food!!! I have done it once, I can do it again!!!
...Do my quickfire challenge...100 jumping jacks in sets of 20 or 25...should be easy...should be
...Drink my water...this one is a no brainer!
...Reach 75 spark points for the day
...EXERCISE

Another thing for today...I am out of cigarettes...and with the hubby gone and three kids I don't forsee myself being able to get any today. This is going to be my time to quit. I plan on still going out to the garage like I would, but going out and doing those dang jumping jacks instead of smoking...remove one habit and start another see the plan emoticon Lets just see how it goes...

Time for some breakfast and on with the day...good luck to all and keep moving!

awesome idea to replace the smoke breaks with jumping jack breaks! Talk about maximizing your lifestyle change :) Good luck with quitting - my DH quit cold turkey shortly before our oldest was born; he celebrated 12 years cigarette free last month :) You can do it too!
