2 Minutes off my mile!!

Sunday, August 28, 2011

I did 1.6 miles in 25 minutes today!! That is 2 minutes off my previous time for a mile (18)...Now to keep going!

On my journey with the hobbits:
You have walked 1.6 miles.
You have passed Bywater.
It is 5.4 miles to the next landmark.
You have 456.4 miles to reach Rivendell.

Little of all this, of course, reached the ears of ordinary hobbits. But even the deafest and most stay-at-home began to hear queer tales; and those whose business took them to the borders saw strange things. The conversation in The Green Dragon at Bywater, one evening in the spring of Frodo's fiftieth year, showed that even in the comfortable heart of the Shire rumours had been heard, though most hobbits still laughed at them.

I am happy to have did this today! My husband left for his job and we wont see him for another 20 days...this was my time to be sad so that I can be strong for the kids and be able to explain things to them.

Now onto to take my statistics final!

Have a good day and keep moving!!!

I haven't been exercising :-(

Saturday, August 27, 2011

I haven't been exercising like I want to these last couple of days. I know I should, but I want to spend some time with my husband before he leaves. Plus we are trying to plan a birthday party for our boys at the same time. I just get lazy and say I will get back to it when he is gone and I miss him. I really do plan on it! I know that I have to since I am paying a gym membership now and have ordered new shoes instead of the toning ones that have me in extreme pain after 2 days.

I have a few new goals after playing around on here a little today (I know, I should have been exercising instead of sitting in front of the computer).

I want to see if I can get more points everyday until I get to an average of 100 a day...Its crazy, but I want to try.

The other one I found was 15 minutes of housework a day...a clean house makes for a clean mind...and a clean mind is able to focus on a healthy body.

I want to walk the walk of Frodo in the Lord of the Rings. I found that challenge and really enjoyed reading about it. I am going to use the websites of
Walk/walk.html and
.php to help me see where I am along the way. Not to mention pulling out the movies and watching them again. My oldest son loves them, so it would be interesting to see them again as I am walking the path.

So far that is all that I have set up for myself. Oh and my 5k and beating my friends time in the 5k she just did...

First things first though...I have to get myself back on the path of exercising.

Sore all over...

Yesterday was day 2 at the gym...who knew I was so out of shape! I thought I was doing pretty good, but those two days really did show me, let alone make me feel out of shape! I CAN NOT go up or down the stairs without pain/discomfort in my legs. But because of this I have done 1.25 miles on the elliptical and 1.1 miles on the treadmill. I played with a few of the other machines, but I really joined the gym for the elliptical and the treadmill. I can do a lot of the strength here at home with the dumbbells, bands and ball that I have.

I have made some goals for myself, and added some new teams to my list. I have always wanted to do a 5K, so I signed up for the Trick or Treat Trot. I plan to work hard so that I can run/jog most of it. Yesterday on the treadmill I did an 18 minute mile...not back considering I haven't timed a mile since I was in high school! I now have a starting point with something to beat. I didn't push myself too hard, knowing that this way I can gradually work my way up and get better each time.

I am wondering how many teams people on here typically sign up for...I don't want too many, but I want to try different things. I like different teams, but don't want to overload myself and not be able to keep up with them all.

I have been doing wonderful on my water intake! I am so proud of myself for that one! It is hard since I really like my pop. But since drinking so much water, I haven't found myself drinking near as much pop...good sign!

I am looking into protein powder. I think, with the way my legs feel today, I need something like that for after my workouts. I have a free sample of the Shakeology drink, but I can't afford a months supply of that right now! What kinds of protein powder do you other SP use? Any good recipes that you make with them?

Baby needs me....Have a good day and keep moving!!!

I joined the gym...

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

So I made it official yesterday, no more talking about it. I joined the gym across the road from me. I got on the elliptical for a whole 15 minutes...yes just 15 minutes and felt like I was going to die. Than I did some leg presses (seated squats) and now today my legs are like jelly! I didn't think I was that out of shape! I am glad that my quickfire challenge today is shadow boxing...I don't think I could do much more if I tried!

Now to figure out how to track my shadow it the same as boxing? I don't know...

I hope everyone has a good day and keep moving!!

I am so happy! I tracked my food all day yesterday! I have never before done that and it makes me happy knowing that I can do it if I put my mind to it! I even spent the a few hours outside walking around with my kids yesterday! The pedometer said about a mile had been done! Sweet! Making it short this is crying and I have active plans!

Have a good day and keep moving!!
