new weight for 2014

Hello Sparkpeople,
Since, the last time I've been on here I was 313 and am now 300.8. I started struggling with my weight lost due to my pcos but am determined to continue on. Since 2012, I've had a baby with weight gain from 307 to 320. I dropped down t0 307 after I had the baby and decided to start all over again a week ago now am 300.8 emoticon. The most challenging part of this for me is that I work 11:15pm-7:15am and I got a brand new baby. It seems like I have no time to workout. Any suggestions?

#going for walk/jog/run with baby in pram.
#dance with baby in hand or over shoulder using a rocking motion
#using baby as weight lie on bed on your back lift baby in your hands reaching towards celling then bend hands bringing baby towards chest.a bit like reverse kids used to love that and me swinging them between my legs then up in the air like a kettle bell(of course theese you will have to wait till the baby has full control of the head.
#when baby is lying down for a nap you could do an exercise dvd or just dance to music while doing housework

donīt forget just as important as exercise especially with small children is a rested mother,
#when baby takes a nap,take a nap with them
# or have a relaxing bath while baby sleeps
#read a a friend.have a nice warming drink

    Just replied to your entry about Eat to Live... Not sure if you're still interested in it.

With regard to exercise I suggest you try to squeeze in extra exercise in your daily routine. Walk just a little further than necessary. Park you car a bit further away. Walk or bike instead of taking the car for small distances. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
You could use a step tracker and try to do just a bit more of walkign than you usually do. Every little bit of extra movement helps.
When you can take just ten minutes to go for a brisk walk every day and turn that into a streak (use the 'streak' function under 'trackers').

    First of all, congrats on the new baby!

Just take baby steps. Pick one change and concentrate on making it a habit. When that's done, pick another change to focus on. Like drinking water instead of soda, or skipping fast food, or limiting dessert to one day a week.

What ever you choose first, know that it's possible for you, you are worth it!

Maybe taking baby for a 10 to 15 min walk sometime during the day....although i do have a question....when do you get to sleep????

I wanted to know if anybody ever tried the eat to live diet?

    Indeed Eat to Live (ETL) is not a diet but a lifestyle , a way of eating very clean.
I tried it and I think it makes a lot of sense. I lost some weight but did find that living according to those guidelines is too hard for me personally (as a recovering binge eater). I still use a lot of the suggestions though and doing ETL made me so much more aware of the importance of eating vegetables.

There is an active team for Eat to Live here at Sparkpeople, it's very worth while to join it, you will get lots of good tips and insights.

    I bought the book and started on it the day after Christmas 2012. I've only lost 8.5 lbs, but for me that's major since I've had a really hard time losing with a thyroid problem and being pre-menopausal. Also, I'm getting all the fruits and veggies I've needed for awhile and wasn't getting. Since the diet has such big salads, you don't have to drink but 3-8 oz. glasses of water a day. Dr. Fuhrman says you get a lot of water in salads and fruits. My thyroid medicine has been cut back and it helps with your joints and other ailments you may have. If you like oatmeal, fruits, beans, salads and any veggie (excluding potatoes) you'll like this diet. And actually he says it's not a diet, but a way of eating. I also fine when it comes to eating out. I just get a big salad and order fish or chicken with seasonal veggies. It's not going to hurt to have a little lean meat occasionally, just not all the time. I really think this Dr. is onto something.

    I am in my second week of the ETL program - Day 12. I can't believe how easy it has been and how satisfying. Today I am feeling better than I can remember feeling in a long time. I highly recommend the program. I have no food cravings at all.

    I haven't tried it yet, but I'm reading the book right now and learning about it. Have you started it? If not, I'd totally start it at the same time as you.

    Eat to live is a diet you go on for 6 weeks and it's all plant based food. You eat allot of vegetables and fruit on this diet. I watched it on youtube and there was a Muslimah on there who lost 50 lbs. in 26-27 weeks cant remember which one. She stayed on the diet Mon-Thurs. and than on Fri-Sun. she had cheat days. I thought, I was starting the diet this Sunday but turns out I was eating the wrong foods. I ordered the book and plan on starting it but you can get the book in the store but for some reason I thought it'll be cheaper to order on line. NOT

1st day doing weight watchers

I got on the scale Saturday and my numbers went up. So, I've choose to do weight watchers and count points. Today is my first day, it wasn't that hard but I didn't realize I was eating a lot until I started weight watchers.

Am Back!!!!

Well it seems I fell all the way of the wagon but hey I guess I need to hop back on. I did so good for 10 days. I exercise and ate right most of the time and than bang. I got some bad news and once I received the news. I thought I was eating my troubles away but we know that isn't so. Am going to weigh in tomorrow or Tues and start all over.

    Tomorrow is another day and a fresh start. No one is perfect and sometimes we do use food to comfort us. It's important that you realized why you chose to eat and the next time something triggers you to want to eat what you may not have planned,you look to other ways of support. Your journey is not over because of one day or several days. It's important to continue and learn from your experiences.

10th day-12:12 noon weigh-in results

Well the scale is not my friend. I had planned on losing at least 2 pounds a week and I went from 303 to 302. I whole pound, well at least I lost something.I don't know if I want get back on the scale every Tues, with results like that but I know I must remain postive and not binge or give-up.

    Sorry you're disappointed - but one pound loss is great - and far better than a one pound gain. Just remember that the scale is only one way to measure your weight loss successes ... emoticon
