I was just answering some survey questions and one of the questions was along the lines of are you happy with your lifestyle? It took me a little bit to think about that because I wanted the middle answer (neither agree nor disagree). I feel good about the changes I've made and plan to continue to improve. But, I don't feel that I am at the point where I can answer agree or strongly agree. Does that make sense? I'm working on making lasting changes and I am well aware that it doesn't happen over night. On the bright side, a few questions later was pick which statement best describes you. Instead of picking the negative statement (negative in my opinion), I am proud to be able to say that "I'm making lifestyle choices to insure my long term health."


It's not about the destination, it's all about the journey.

truer words were never, EVER spoken. every day is an opportunity to improve, do good things, make a difference in and for yourself, and i'm so happy for and proud of you and this positive attitude. it's working, it's working! don't you feel better? sp is the best site. all you have to do is want to change. that's the hardest thing...admitting where you're at and taking action steps towards a goal, every day. feeling in control and confident.....these are sp qualities. i'm so glad you're on board. rock on and do it up! one foot in front of the other....nancy Report Inappropriate Comment

Summer clothes...

With the nice weather finally coming, I dug out the shorts, capri pants, and tank tops about a week ago. I haven't really gone shopping or bought any new clothes since fall (just donating the ones that are too big now). I can see the progress I've made by seeing the limited wardrobe I have to work with for summer. I was able to bag up half of the clothes and get rid of them without even trying them on. The other half...well... if I wear a belt they might stay up. What a way to get back on track!

it's finally coming together

I've been working on my house instead of worrying about walking on the treadmill or doing an exercise video. It's working really well for me. Spending hours at a time gardening - digging, bending, hoeing, shoveling dirt, walking back to the house for something. Finishing the bathroom project that was started oh so long ago. At the end of the day, I stretch and first thing in the morning I stretch. The scale has started to move a little again. At the end of the day, I've used my body and know that I've had an excellent workout. And it was fun.

Yes! Exercise that accomplishes something other than just burning off my calories is the best kind for me too. Why work up a sweat if my house looks just as bad at the end of it when I can put that energy to good use? Report Inappropriate Comment

Not really motivated today to do much of anything. But gonna do what I'm supposed to do. It's still early today so I have plenty of time. Although this theory has left me at the end of the day going boy I didn't get anything done today. Let's try not to let that happen.

I've got to say I'm proud of myself. I've been sticking to the plan to eat healthy foods and move more. I took some advice and cut up carrots and celery on Wednesday. Today (Friday), they are almost all gone. The entire family has been able to help themselves to a quick yummy snack. And I've been cooking some of the recipes found on spark for dinner. I feel better about what we are all eating. Hopefully, we can stick with the plan.
