Good Weekend!

Monday, January 30, 2012

I actually had time for my self this weekend. My husband took care of the kids Saturday night and I went to eat with the girls. then to the movies. I managed to still stay on track and have good food and fun. Then another great thing on Sunday. I put on a skirt for church and it fell off! I took one step and it slid off my hips to the floor. I LOVE IT! The scale may not show much but clothes are a true tell. I also got the treadmill fixed so here we go again on that!

I had to wear a belt!

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

I do not usually post. Most of the time I think that what I have to say is not really that important to others. There were things that were special to me but only me. Today I had some thing happen that to others seemed so small but I wanted to shout it out. That is when I made the decision to begin to write this all down for me to remember, because it is important to me. So for today I shout---I HAD TO WEAR A BELT!!! My pants kept falling down. I could actually take them off without unbuttoning them. It may seem small but I had to wear a belt. It is one step in the direction I choose to go!

    Awesome!!!! Way to go!

I highly recommend blogging. Even if it seems like it'll be boring to everyone else, you should do it for yourself, exactly for the reason you said. So you can go back and see your own journey. Be your own motivator!!!

Keep up the great work!

keeping busy.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

I did much better today. I think a lot had to do with keeping busy. The more I did the less I thought about eating or the things I could eat. I just stuck with what I had planned and all was good.
I did manage to venture out of the house today. I drove a couple of miles to the store to get milk. Roads were not as bad a I thought but we are still going to miss another day of school Thursday. My house is clean, we have read, we have crafted and watched movies. We have played outside. I am running out of things for the kids to do!

If they are home tomorrow, why not try a treasure hunt? It will get everyone moving and be fun, too! Good luck.

Keeping up!

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

I have decided that one of the things that I need to do on this journey to a new life style is to write it all down. I am going to try and keep up with the blog as a way to do this.
Things have been going well until the snow. We are currently snowed in. I know that my friends up North are laughing at us Alabama people but we just do not get this kind of weather enough to really be prepared to deal with it. I am great at staying on the calories when I am working. But sitting at home I am constantly thinking of the things I could eat. And yes some are on my plan for the day but there are others that seem to call my name. I have been very good at only having the good stuff at home but...
Also yesterday I was reminded of why I so much want to lose. I took my kids out with a group of others on our road and near by family. we rode four wheelers and did our version of a sled with signs and tubes being pulled by the sleds. To tell you how country we are we even had a boat tied to a truck that we took a few spins in. It was great fun except ever time I had to get up from falling off the sleds it was a struggle. I was so tired and the kids were just getting started. Then last night I saw some of the photos that others had posted of our day. Can I just say I looked like a sausage or maybe I should have been the snowman in my coat and snow gear. I am now more committed but I still feel the struggle. I will not stay how I am I will get healthy. Next year I want to have more fun in the snow and not be the one who is tired.

Today was not the greatest!

I have always looked for the ways to add exercise and for ways to improve my diet. For many years I heard just push the plate away. This of course is not the whole answer. But looks like I will be not using a plate for a few days. Yesterday my face and jaw started to hurt. By last night I had to go to the ER. After lots of tests and then visits to my doc today I have discovered that I have shingles in the nerve in my face. I am on meds and have been told no solid food for a few days. On top of that the meds for pain and for the shingles are making me sick. Not the way I want to lose weight! but once again I will charge on and this too will pass. I am thinking of it as a curve not a bump in the road. Just a slight detour into my new lifestyle.

I am sorry you are not well. I have never had shingles, but heard they are painful. I pray for a speedy recovery for you.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. Shingles can be so painful! You must have an incredibly positive attitude to view this (while in pain) as a 'detour'. Truly, God does use all of this to show us again and again how much He delights in us. I pray you'll heal quickly!

Good luck to you! Sorry the meds are making you not feel so well. I think you are right tho, its only a curve and this too shall pass. Positive thinking will keep you on track even when it seems to be the most frustrating of times. Keep your chin up and keep on trucking. You can do it!
