Had a two-week cold and cough, but kept moving!

Saturday, January 22, 2011

This cold and cough has gone through our entire family, except for my husband who rarely catches cold. I kept moving by taking little walks, and that actually made me feel better. I have cut out soda, and that has helped me loose weight, but I have a hard time giving up candy!

Well done on getting some walks in while you feel ill. You have done much better than me, I am also full of cold but have not done anything. I do agree a walk in thefresh air makes you feel better. You've inspired me to get out and about!

Balance is better after stroke!

Wednesday, June 09, 2010

I had my stroke on 11/30/09, and I am sooooo much better! My balance has improved, my right leg is much stronger, and my right arm is about back to normal! I can't seem to lose the weight I gained while I was laid up, however, and I can't walk much more than I am doing already. I have been walking (with little spells of jogging) on the treadmill every week day for 4 miles, and I have only lost 1 lb in 3 months!!! I don't eat THAT much food, so what is up with that?

    Hi

Thank you for your welcome and my spark gift, sorry to hear of your stroke and the weight problem I think it does take time for your metabalism to adjust from the inactivity to your current level. You will start to lose again.

My problem is the weekends I drink wine and eat cheese shamelessly.

LOL Liz

I am so sorry to hear that you had a stroke but it is great news that you are getting back onto your feet! If you keep steadily building your exercise back up I'm sure that the weight will start to come off. Good luck x

I am so sorry to hear that you had a stroke. Please take care of yourself, they aren't anything to mess around with.

I am hoping that you were too affected by it. My best friend had one and she is a nurse (55 yrs old). Luckily she didn't have too much damage.

Take it easy now and try to enjoy the holidays. Don't stress either.

I will definitely say a prayer for you.

    Hello Danni,
Nice to meet you.
Sorry to hear about the stroke.
How are things? are you in need of physio for your arm and leg or is it 'sorting its self out'?
Take care. emoticon

Hi Danni - so sorry to hear about the stroke, and glad you are feeling better. Don't do too much too soon.
Really glad to see you back with SP - I thought maybe you were too busy moving house to track anything but furniture etc!
