Fitting Into My New Routine.

I used to be able to work out for a couple of hours a day but since my boyfriend and I have been laid off (thank, you Congress), our new full time job is looking for jobs! So now my usually joyful Zumba sessions have turned into trekking around town and applying for any job in sight. I still am able to fit in at least a little workout every day but I am very ready to start working again and fall back into a fitness routine and schedule.

I'm being more careful about my food since I'm not working out as much and I even lost a pound last week so hopefully my body keeps adapting to this new change. Giving up in not an option for me though so I'm just going to keep pushing forward..... And smiling of course!!

    I am sorry to hear about your job loss.
Sometimes, I really think that my job sucks, but I know I am lucky to have a job. I wish I could find a job that was more fulfilling.

I hope you find a job that is enjoyable and rewarding.

A New Month.

Okay, I must admit I have fallen off my routine. I've still been maintaining healthy eating habits but I've been slacking off on exercise. This is a new month, though, and even though it's been a rough year I must re-focus and get back on track. A bit hard to tackle since my boyfriend & I both lost our jobs & have been job hunting but I'm always up for a challenge and I am excited about the month ahead! Happy March, Sparklers! emoticon

Just learned yesterday that my first friend on Spark People passed away last week. I'm so sad & I'm going to miss her so much! I know she was such an inspiration to so many people on Spark with her determination, kindness, & positive attitude. I'll never forget her & I'll think of her every day when I log on to Spark People. emoticon

February is my Favorite!

Usually because it involves the Super Bowl but also because I love Valentine's Day & my birthday is also this month. I'm leaving for my birthday trip on Saturday and I'll be gone for about 10 but still plan on tracking my food, exercise, & I'm also looking forward to a charity bike ride I get to do! :-) This month I am going all out - I plan to get out of this rut, start losing weight again, & find a new job. I may be forced to move out of state and leave my family & everything I know to find a job I am qualified for, but I'm still fairly young so I can do whatever I choose with my life at this point. I'm ready for the next chapter :-)

Year Is Off To A Good Start.

Pretty excited that this is the first holiday season where I've actually managed to lose weight instead of gain. I usually make new year's resolutions but this year I decided to not specifically make one and just to keep on track with what I'm doing. Each month I am going to check in on my progress and see where I maybe need to change a few things. I know that my eating habits are going to have to change a little bit, though. It seems the only way I am able to eat enough food is if I eat fast food or restaurant food and then I usually overeat! I love to cook, I just have to start finding ways to add more calories into my day. Especially because I do a lot of exercise and need to stay fueled! :) So life is good and pretty much nothing has changed here. Hope all you Sparkers are off to a good start as well!

    Most folks have to stay away from fast foods, you have to go to fast food lol sounds funny but I understand what you are saying. Good for you getting your holidays sorted and no weight gain...thats a biggie...most people put on weight over that period.
Hope Feb is as good as Jan was for you.

    Great way to start off a new year! For adding calories that give you nutrients, think of snacks like nuts and seeds, a banana or apple with a Tbsp of nut butter, is a great nutritious snack. Healthy calories that give you nutritious carbs, protein and fat which also help to keep you satiated. Vegetables with hummus is another great option for a snack to add in healthy calories. Fast food may give you more calories, but too much of those calories come from refined carbs which only spike blood sugars and high fat and sodium. I'm not sure if you have any dietary restrictions, but there are some great recipes on Spark for healthy versions of muffins etc, that could also give you a caloric boost but in a healthier way. You're doing awesome, so keep up the great work! I am looking forward to rockin' 2013 with you!
