I'm still feeling very sore from last week's procedure. My doctor said I could go back to water exercise on Monday. Alas, due to Isaac, the pool was closed on Monday. That really was a good thing because I was actually too sore to work out. I treated myself to lunch with hubby and a pedicure following lunch. It was a good day.
On Tuesday I completed a water workout of 135 minutes and ended up with an aching head afterwards. I didn't use any weights in the workout either. I stopped at the store on my way home and then rested at home. My sore spots were smaller Wednesday as a result of the rest. I'm trying not to let the necessity of toning down my workouts get me down.
Today, Wednesday, I was achy when I woke up. I wasn't sure if I would loosen up enough to go to water aerobics class. I got up and started moving around and decided to go to class. My agreement with myself was that if I still felt achy after stretching in the water, I would shower off and go home. The water felt wonderful and I did a 130 minutes of working out in the water. After working out, I had to run one errand, then drove home, ate lunch and rested. I was sore after working out but not as sore as yesterday so I'm making progress. I was glad that I again skipped the weights. I can't even imagine how I would have felt if I had chosen to use them!
Tomorrow, I will again assess how I feel and curtail my workout if necessary. I've scheduled a haircut for the afternoon after I rest. I'm glad that I am taking time to pamper myself this week!
