It felt great to get back into the water yesterday after being out of commission for several days. I've been out of sync off and on for the past month due to illness and tests. Now that the testing is over and my system is getting back to normal, I want to get back on track with my food plan. Exercise has never been an issue with me but eating proper portions at regular intervals has been an issue.
We will be traveling to New York this coming week to bury my FIL's ashes. My goal for the week is to do mindful eating. I'm talking about eating with the purpose of nourishing my body at regular intervals. I will be under stress and to avoid getting sick again, I will need to watch the sugar, eat lean protein, veggies/fruits and complex carbohydrates. I will be attempting to do this while eating out at restaurants the whole time we're gone. I will attempt to keep my goals simple so that I'll be successful.
Goals for the next 12 days:
1.) Mindful, purposeful eating at regular intervals
2.) Keeping hydrated
3.) Watching my fatigue level and getting appropriate rest
4.) Using a journal to log food, water, exercise and to emotionally vent
That's my plan. I'm keeping it simple and later I will use the journal as a tool to track patterns. I will not beat myself up if I slip or don't meet any of my goals. I will just get right back to my goals and sick with it.
