Listening to my body and toning things down yesterday, really paid off. I slept like a brick last night and awoke refreshed. Hooray! I ate oatmeal, skim milk and 2 egg whites for breakfast so I got off to a great start. I decided to try working out in the pool today, so after breakfast, I headed out to the Y. I did a very gentle pre class workout. During this time I did lots of counter exercises and stretches. Then I did my deep water class for about an hour. My breakfast really stuck with me throughout the workout. I showered, slathered on skin cream, dressed and drove home. On the way home I drank 20 ounces of water and ate a Lara bar. I was a little tired but felt good.
Hubby and I went out for lunch and I only ate half of what was on my plate. We brought the rest home for another meal. After lunch, we ran some errands. Hubby and a neighbor planted a new palm tree (bush?) in the front yard in an area where the grass died, He also put the sod that we purchased over some new bald spots. I forced myself to lie down to read and rest (and drink more water) while he was working in the yard. The old me wouldn't have paced herself. I would have tried to work in the yard too even though I had already worked out. I know that the reason I'm feeling good right now is because I made myself rest. The yard looks great and hubby did a fantastic job!
