Taking Care Of Business Today

I'm finally starting to feel a little bit better. It has been over three weeks since I first got sick and I'm getting back to normal. My stomach has stopped hurting and my sinus infection seems to be gone. Hooray! I've been to water aerobics class twice this week and it felt good.

Today I'm going to Tampa for a nerve conduction test on my arms. This is just to see if the pain/numbness I've been continuing to have is a residual from my issue with the cervical spine and left arm nerves. If it is, the doctor will do a simple out patient procedure to release the nerves and the arm pain should lessen. If not, I'll just have to live with it and be very careful. Either way, knowledge is power and I'd rather know what is causing the pain/numbness.

Interested in hearing the results of your nerve conduction test and what the outpatient procedure involves to release them.

Cleaning And Cooking Today

I had a very constructive day today. I did some laundry, folded clothes and put them away. I stripped the bed, sprayed it Lysol Spray and let it air. Then I made up the bed with clean sheets and put away the sheets that I washed and dried this afternoon. I vacuumed the whole house too! Boy did I work up a sweat!

When I was finished, I went to the grocery store and got the makings for homemade chicken noodle soup. I stopped in the outlet store and got a new table cloth and candles for the dining room table. Once I got home, hubby put away the groceries while I made the soup. I put away the Easter table cloth and decorations and put out the new table cloth and candles. I must say that it looks very pretty and festive. I will leave the table decorated like this until it is time to pull out the fall decorations. By this time I was soaked and had to take my second shower of the day. It felt great on my hot skin! I lay down to rest, relax and read for a while and enjoyed the sweet smelling clean bed. Ah, the life of a domestic diva!!!

Hubby looks like he may be getting the stomach flu that I had last week. Bummer! I hope the chicken noodle soup will appeal to him. Being sick is certainly no fun.

    Hope Mike is feeling better. Sure glad you are doing better. You are to be commended for cleaning and cooking. Good for you!! The good workout yesterday morn and rest in the afternoon both sounded great. Glad you are enjoying your bed. I said if I was ever rich I'd have someone change my sheets every day. Feeling Better So Far Today

Listening to my body and toning things down yesterday, really paid off. I slept like a brick last night and awoke refreshed. Hooray! I ate oatmeal, skim milk and 2 egg whites for breakfast so I got off to a great start. I decided to try working out in the pool today, so after breakfast, I headed out to the Y. I did a very gentle pre class workout. During this time I did lots of counter exercises and stretches. Then I did my deep water class for about an hour. My breakfast really stuck with me throughout the workout. I showered, slathered on skin cream, dressed and drove home. On the way home I drank 20 ounces of water and ate a Lara bar. I was a little tired but felt good.

Hubby and I went out for lunch and I only ate half of what was on my plate. We brought the rest home for another meal. After lunch, we ran some errands. Hubby and a neighbor planted a new palm tree (bush?) in the front yard in an area where the grass died, He also put the sod that we purchased over some new bald spots. I forced myself to lie down to read and rest (and drink more water) while he was working in the yard. The old me wouldn't have paced herself. I would have tried to work in the yard too even though I had already worked out. I know that the reason I'm feeling good right now is because I made myself rest. The yard looks great and hubby did a fantastic job!

Taking Things Slower

I woke up this morning with every intention of going to water aerobics. Hubby left early to attend to some business and I fell back to sleep. I was sleeping the sleep of the exhausted when the phone rang. It was my doctor's office calling to confirm my appointment for next Tuesday. I mumbled something affirmative into the phone and sat up. Ugh! I feel like I'm wading through Jello today. It would appear that I over did it yesterday. Oh what a surprise! Not! I even missed the team dinner last night because of my fatigue.

I'm going to stay out of the water today and just run some errands. My body is trying to tell me that it is tired and I need to listen. I've had the flu followed by a sinus infection and two ear infections. I need to take things slower. So what if I'm not the leader in fitness minutes or Spark points. (Yes, I know that I'm addicted to the little buggers!) I want to get better and that needs to come first.

    You can't exercise at your level if you are not in tip top shape so get better first. Yes, I know those spark points sometimes become TOO important.

On The Mend

I was determined to go to water aerobics at least once this week. Today was the day. I could really see that my stamina has decreased. I felt like I was wading through Jello! I warmed up and did an easy workout on my own and only did the first half of the class. I ran a few errands on my way home too. I stopped in Wal Mart and walked up and down every isle; trying to add more exercise to my day. I only had a few groceries to purchase but I turned my visit into a 60 minute walk. I was exhausted by the time I got home. I hope I sleep well tonight!
