Last Thursday I had my nerve conduction test on my left arm. As we suspected, I have ulnar nerve neuropathy. It isn't severe enough to trigger the test but if it flares up badly again I'm supposed to call my neurologist after 3 months and she will retest the nerve to see if it can be fixed surgically. She suggested that I do a heavy workout before coming in the next time so the test will more accurately read the nerve damage. This time it didn't show on the test but showed on the actual physical exam of my arm. She said that she knows that it's there and I need to avoid resting my elbow on anything and sleeping with my arm too bent. Easier said than done!!! This has made me hyper aware of my body position. The doctor said that this is a very good thing. We'll see how I do.
I also had a sinus scan on Friday to see if there is still an issue there. I will follow up on that in June. I have elevated my bed a little bit more and it is helping my stuffy nose.
Tomorrow is female wellness day. Oh joy! My least favorite day of the year. Necessary but not very pleasant. I will also follow up on that sometime in June.
This coming Wednesday I am having my endoscopy and colonoscopy. Two other tests that are necessary but unpleasant. I will prevail through these too. Keeping my fingers crossed that I show continued improvement on both of these tests as well.
By the time Wednesday is finished, I will be thoroughly sick of being poked and prodded by doctors!!! Heck, I'm sick of it already and I haven't even started this week's schedule yet. LOL
I'm not real keen on spending hours in doctor's offices. This too shall pass!
It will feel good to get back on my exercise schedule by the end of the week. Of course the following week we will be traveling to upstate New York to bury my father-in-law's ashes, now that the ground has thawed. The good news is that I will get to see my daughter since she will be coming with us. I'm really looking forward to a nice visit with her! I'm so proud of her. She is a delight! While we are there, we will take the time to visit my mother's grave too. On the way up as well as on the way back, we will stop and visit a very dear aunt of mine. My aunt will be 90 this summer. I can't believe it! We're looking forward to seeing her too. We really enjoy her company.
As you can see, the next couple of weeks will be very busy for me. My plan is to keep as much on schedule as possible. I will take snacks on our trip and try to work some serious exercise into my schedule. I will miss my water aerobics classes a lot. (Along with all of my friends there!) I am determined to stay on my program and continue my quest for a healthy life despite traveling.
