My Spark Shirts Are Here

Yea! The Spark Shirts that I ordered are here. This means my husband, sister and I will be able to wear our shirts for our Spread the Spark Summer Challenge Walk on June 27th! They are a beautiful bright red and the quality is great! We also got a bunch of those little Spread the Spark cards along with our order that we will hand out at the walk.

    Cool! I like red! :O) OK, So I was looking at the shirts and don't understand the sizing chart? How do you think that these size? What would you say an XL fits..14? 16? 18?.

Make The Effort To Walk Today

Ever have one of those days when you just wake up feeling blah? Today is one of those days for me. I've decided that the remedy that I'll use to combat the blah feeling is exercise. I will be leaving the house shortly to take a walk around the neighborhood. Exercise is my drug of choice to combat the blahs and to garner some of those "feel good" endorphins. By noon time I should be ready to roll! The lesson here is to do something active, daily, for at least 30 minutes. Here I go!

Eating breakfast gets your day off to the right start. When I was a little child, I recall my mother insisting that I eat breakfast every morning. It became a habit. As a teenager, I experimented with different foods and eating or not eating them. I even tried not eating breakfast for a while. Guess what I discovered? Eating breakfast really does make you feel better and get you off to a great start in the morning! Whether you eat a big meal or just cereal, fruit and water, you need to refuel your body after not eating for 8+ hours. Advantages are: more energy, less fatigue, better concentration, less hunger at lunch time and more efficient body movements. There have been many studies done that support eating breakfast. So do your body a favor and give it the fuel it craves in the morning; even if you don't initially feel hungry. Eat a healthy breakfast. You'll be glad you did!

    This is so very true! Also, it's been said that if we skip breakfast we tend to eat more and gain weight. So, it is better to eat a balanced 3 meals a day...or 4-5 small meals a day; whichever works.

Today is the Start of a New, Fresh Week

Today is the start of a new fresh week. I can be anything I want to be this week. I can be a success and I can be healthy. It's my decision and I'm going to be a healthy success. I will eat breakfast every day, I will eat lunch, dinner and 3 snacks to keep from getting overly hungry. I will drink my 64+ ounces of water and eat 5+ fruits/veggies. I will stay in my calorie range. It will be a rewarding, successful week!

Tired But Feeling Good

I tried to increase my activity a little today. I went to a bunch of yard sales this morning and then ran several errands. I got some really great deals! Later, I made myself lie down and even took a nap. I'm still having pain on the lower right side of my back. As soon as I finish this I'm going to ice it. I guess I need to make an appointment with my pain management doctor and see where I need to go from here.
