Reflection First Week of Halloween Challenge

This has been an interesting week for me. It looks like my weight is finally dropping a few pounds and suddenly I'm feeling much more confident about me.
I've been doing 60+ minutes a day of cardio instead of the 30-45 minutes I was previously doing. I have more stamina too. I've also become a walking/talking advertisement for Spark People. I've convinced at least 6 people to try it this week. (Hopefully I wasn't too obnoxious in my enthusiasm)

Some of my new habits are becoming more comfortable and ingrained in my life. I'm noticing that since eating more healthfully and doing regular exercise, I feel better.

Look out week 2, here I come.

Tired but feeling healthy

This week I tried to rev up my cardio a bit to see what effect it would have on my weight loss. So far I've lost 2 pounds!!! I'm pretty tired but I feel okay.
I've noticed a change in my balance, endurance and the definition in my arms!
I actually have muscles in my arms that you can see!!! Wa-hoo!!!

  


Three Goals For October

For the month of October I'm going to try to do these 3 things:

First I'm going to work on my abs but not overdo it because of my spinal problems. I will use moderation.

Second I'm going to try to increase aerobic activity on the weekends without being compulsive about it. I will use moderation.

Last I'm going to make an effort to see if I can do some lunges. (I will be careful because of my knee replacement. ) If I can only do 6-8 by the end of the month, I will be satisfied.

    Sounds like a plan! Kudos to you for coming up with such a great game plan! Be careful with those knees, you'll get there. You have a totally winning attitude, think where you'll be at this time next year! emoticon

Moderation is key make sure to listen to your body as you go! You are doing great. I love how you are not letting your ailments become your excuses!

It's a Good Day!

Today I woke up and the sun was shining (it shines a lot here in Florida) and I felt great. My gym workout went smoothly. I did 50 minutes of cardio and all of my weight machines. Later my husband and I took a walk with our dogs. Then I took another short walk. I feel pumped!!! We went out for dinner and I stayed within my calorie range. Life is good!!! I'm thankful for such a spectacular day!

Overdoing It Hurts

I felt so good today after 60 minutes of water aerobics that I acted like the Eveready Bunny. I ran 7 errands, walked for 40 minutes and did an hour and a half of yard work. This is certainly a case of more is not better. I hope I can move tomorrow!!! I keep going and going and going....

    It's so easy to do, because we get so pumped! I have done the same thing! I have worked out early in the morning, and gone and gone all day, then did some more working out at home before I went to bed, just because I felt like it. I was really sore the next day! It was hard for me to do my regular work out at the gym the next morning!!
At least we're moving, though! It will all even out in the end!
