New Inspiration

Saturday, October 31, 2009

My brother is a lead guitar player in a band called "The Cry Wolf Band." Anyway, my friend and I went to see them perform last night. We danced and had a good time. When I was checking out the other people at the restaurant, I noticed most of the gals were quite a bit slimmer than I am. This has given me new inspiration to exercise, because I'd like to look "cute" in my jeans as well. Wish me luck!

Of course you can. Enjoy more awareness of your choices and opportunities.
With a healthy point of view, it can be pure fun and self esteem at work to
slim down a bit and get great habits in place for a lifetime.

I don't know your brother's band (where did they play and what kind of music?) but I go listen to bands but dance in exercise classes. An old gal like me wants
the same things you do and just hangs out in different places.

smiles!

New Puppy at Our House

Friday, February 27, 2009

On 1/26/09 we got a new addition to our family. A sweet Bichon Frise puppy named Jackson. He came from a breeder in Lynchburg, Virginia. He's a very smart fellow.
He knows down, up-he jumps up on his hind legs and stands there for several seconds. He jumps up in the air for toys or socks (another favorite plaything) and a couple of times he's done a 360 degree turn in the air when he jumps. He has learned to jump up on the couch and down, which is amazing seeing how small he is.
He is my daughter's puppy, but grandmom (me) gets to take care of him for the most part and I'm growing quite attached.

How is JACKSON these days? All trained I hope and delightful.
Ccould I have met you at Centennial with him? Seems I cannot
remember a human face but the name is ringing a bell. My baby
is a half bishon and half maltese named Oliver. He is just over 2
years old now and petite.

How are you doing with your healthy and wellbeing? Today I
am trying to talk myself into going to Centennial without the
dog just so that I don't have to be concerned if I want to
move faster than my monkey boy likes to. He wouldn't be
happy with me if he could only 'know' that I'd do such a
selfish thing.

Stay happy!

Jackson is a cutie! Bichons are so nice too.
We have a Sheltie named Alaska, he's smart, but a really fraidy cat.

New You Boot Camp

Wednesday, January 07, 2009

1/7/09 -Since I have started the New You Boot Camp, I decided to update my weight ticker. I'm at 245 today and can't wait to lose some weight. 10 minutes cardio was a good start on the first day and I will build on that. Once I lose some weight, perhaps my back won't hurt. A stability ball is on my shopping list.

How is it going with Boot Camp?

Are you talking about a group off Rt. 108 in Columbia, or an online group?

I try to do 2 classes a week of Latin fusion exercise since I like to dance
but I don't like just calisthenics. The class gets cancelled too often for
me to count on it. I am thinking of changing studios as soon as my pre
paid classes are completed.

never give up ever,

A new day

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

This is a new day for me in my weight loss journey. I am slowly adding exercise into my routine. My sister got in touch with me and said she lost 8 pounds on her first week with Weight Watchers. It made me feel ashamed.
I went on vacation last week and did a lot of walking and ate plenty of seafood, which I hear is good for a diet. I only lost 1 pound. I have a long way to go. But, I'd like to lose my weight by this time next year as I have a high school reunion then and I don't want to be the heaviest woman there. That would be terrible. Needing motivation terribly to stick with this. Just needed to put this in writing. There I've said it.

One pound is a only a beginning -- You are capable of doing anything you decide to do. We are all with you.

Leyla - You CAN do this. I have faith in you. I've started a little walking myself (as the knee pain allows!) I'm bound & determined to lose this last 15 lbs. to get evaluated for my transplant. We both have good goals in mind & together I know we can achieve them! Keep me posted! (((((((Hugs)))))) Marla

    Hi Leyla,

Good for you adding exercise. I'm afraid there's just no other way. You got a great start on vacation. Don't fret over the 1 pound loss - that's fantastic for a vacation!

As you said, start out slow and just keep adding to your exercise plan. You'll have an active lifestyle before you know it!

You can lose before that reunion. What a great goal to have in mind.

Keep up the great work and don't be down; you're doing fine. By the way, thanks so much for stopping by my page and blog. I'm glad you found the post helpful!
