Killed It

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

For the first time this year I really feel like I killed it in spin class. I believe the key to my new found focus getting the battery replaced in my heart rate monitor. The battery died over six months ago and I finally got a replacement. It is real easy to zone out in class and as a result ease up on the work. Being able to look down and see my heart rate gives me the needed feedback to stay focused and keep pushing.

@MALA77, I just have a Timex with separate watch and chest strap pieces. It does continuously update as I'm working out. I think the one I have is similar to this one:

Thanks!

Good on you....nothing beats the feeling of crushing a workout!

I go bonkers without my HRM....as a matter of fact, I bought a spare to keep in my gym back in the trunk of my car in case i forget mine at home.

You can get just a Polar chest strap for $40 from amazon....most spin bikes and other gym equipment can pick up the signal.

Keep at it!

2-weeks in

Monday, January 14, 2013

We are now 2 weeks into January. I had a sluggish start and felt like I was just going through the motions my first few work outs this year. But today I worked with much more focus, energy and intent. Iím always looking for new work out ides just to keep things fresh and interesting. I still need to work on some winter cardio exercise. Starting to look forward to Spring and some outdoor cycling but it might be awhile until the trials are dry enough for mountain biking.

I feel your exercise lack of motivation! I told myself Jan 1 was it and it wasn't. Good luck to you on the blogging and let's hope the sunshine can motivate us both!
