Today I only swam 1.5 miles or 100 lap, usually I swim 2 miles 132 lap!
To Prove to LADYGWEN25 how awesome she is!!!
Long story short (b.c this is the 3rd time I wrote this darn blog!!! no emoticon!)
LADYGWEN25 is training for a TRI and swimming is her weakest link ;p
She was beating herself up!
I told her, she is the opposite of ME!
I know my STROKES, I just didn't have the cardio, now that I RAN, it all CLICKED!!
She is already a FANTASTIC runner, and biker! so her cardio is probably SUPER HUMAN!!!
I told her to FOCUS on the stroke, bc she already has the cardio down!
Yesterday she blogged about how she DID IT! and how it CLICKED
STROKE, STROKE, STROKE, STROKE, STROKE, STROKE, BREATH!!!!! 5 laps
WHAT!!!!! I was FLOORED!!! I was right about her being super human!
My 132 laps is STROKE, BREATH!
she then got back to me about how 3x stroke is ideal to breathe on both side or 4 on one side!!
SO...........off I go ............ to the Y!!!!
WHAT the hey!
I set to do the 3 STROKE!!!
LAP 20, I was dead tired!!!!!!
I wasted soo much energy changing sides, and worrying which sides next!!
so I changed to 4 STROKES!!!
havent done that in ages!!!
ONLY can muster up 100 laps!!!!!!!
SO if I do my calculations
1 Stroke = 132 lap, 2 miles, 80 mins
4 Stroke = 100 lap, 1.5 miles 60 mins
6 stroke = 66 lap, 1 mile 30 mins
so 5 lap for a first timer is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KEEP IT UP!!!!
P90X: Day 2: Plyometric or jumping!!
CHERWHOAH: I eat my words! I love home exercising video! who knew!
so glad I didnt' CHEAT myself and not try it b.c of bad past experience!!!!
NATPLUMMER: I wore sneakers today! WORLD of difference in a good way!

OK on to the exercise
LOVE it, I could do most!
BUT made 2 realizations
1. NOW I know why I don't RUN as well!!!!
This program has pointed out some of my weakness in my legs! on the ones I can't do!
I can't wait for it to improve my strenght and make me run better!!
I was running 9 mile in 80 mins 2 weeks ago!!!
I really want to get past the 9 min mile!!! i was sooo close to 8 min!!
this will get me there!!
2. P90X showed me my real body!
I thought I saw SLENDER thighs today!
I realized my thighs are 70-80% muscle!!!! and slimming down a lot!
RUNNING: too focused on putting one foot in front of the other to notice anything and long pants!
SWIMMING: too focused on strokes and breathing
P90X: I get to see my body in motion, I saw muscles I never saw before!
saw my leanness, slenderness, tone-ness!!!

Another quick story I want to share! I swear its weight loss related!
My DD goes to kumon. A Japanese program for math and English.
Its basically drills. And repetition!
First a little about my parenting style. Before my toddler DD got 120% of my attention. Now I hope I have given her enough guidance to be responsible.
My method now is guidelines, sink or swim, and throw lifeline. Lol sounds cruel but it works for this girl! They learn faster when they experience the consequences!
Ok back on topic!
What did she do now? Lol
We have a reward system for kumon.
She hates hates it. But this teaches nothing in life is easy. If you want to be the BEST you have to work for it.
So basically there is a set time That is expected and accuracy. WE prefer accuracy over speed!
DD started multiplication 2 wks back.
No problem. She is 7, 2nd grade, done it already at school
Just not with time!
1-5 table no problem!
But....she got too smart for her own good!
In the first page of each section is the times table of the number they are on.
She realized she can reduce the time by ripping the front page! And copying of it.
I had No idea. I time her do my thing and stop time and correct.
I don't think she knows she is CHEATING, I think she sees it as EFFICIENCY.
so she passes with flying colors.
Then they went from 6x6 to 12x6..... still no problem.....slower but no issues!
She was struggling! There was crying. Teacher conference with me a couple times.
We were so confused. Of course we had no idea, she didn't know what she did wasn't right.
It took her 60 min, for 12 min allowance!
I mean crying, tears frustration! !!!!
Finally I figured out the problem, talked to teacher. She has been copying not knowing it cold!
Back to square one! She is so disappointed! But she has to do it again!
No ripping of the first page to copy off of!
This time progress is swift. In 3 days she is in12x6 again and with allowance!
So if you CHEAT! You only cheat yourself!!!!!!
Treat day not cheat day
Plan plan plan
OWN it, TRACK it, BURN it!
Your life, your game, your rules
If you cheat you only cheat yourself!!
So if you want to eat cake! Make room for it, or burn it!
But this is Not only about food!
Dont cheat yourself:
1. By thinking that you are stronger than [weakness] when you aren't!
It will bite you in the end. Aka binge
2. By not going to the MOVIES because you cant control yourself with the snack!
Share it, order a small. Own, track, burn the suckers!
You can have a life! Not a diet its lifestyle change!
Have fun, travel, explore!
3. By saying you are NOT a [insert athletic ABILITY].
If I said I will never try running! I wouldnt be the me today!
Try new things, who knows your body might be made for ice skating but you never gave it a chance to tell you!
Be true to yourself and abilities!
Don't set yourself up for failure!
You can do this!

wanted to share my experience today!
today at my DD swin team at the Y, I was in the lobby with DS!
Entertaining him with THOMAS the TRAIN!
Trying not to listen into the 2 ladies talking at the same table!!
2 lady, both tall, thin, gorgous! turned out to be RUNNERS!! so they have the typical runner body!
LADY 1 was extremely BUBBLEY! great attitude, too bad she wasn't the one that dominated the conversation!
LADY 2 as soooo GLASS half empty1!!
She answered everything with the worst case/ Woah me attitude!
IT was a string of subject,
LADY 1 is attempting to change the subject, trying to find the "happy" topic trigger!
LADY 2 just kept with the negativity!
LADY 1: you son is doing sooooo great
LADY 2: yeah, but you know he should really work on .............. and the teacher said...............
LADY 1: how was superbowl weekend
LADY 2: on and on about how hubby pissed her off,....etc
THEN LADY 2 left to get her other son
LADY 1: turned to me asked about my DS, doing something silly!
We started about running!
SHe was so nice!
So positive! she is a seasoned runner and tore her hamstring
all better now, but still can't get over the MENTAL block to run. so doing HM instead of Marathon.

BACK to POSITIVITY!
As I was listening to LADY 2, I realized I was listening to ME before I was SPARKED!!
I was not THAT negative!
BUT when I was posting FB status it was very complaining!
I had a boring life
"dropping of kids AGAIN"..."blah blah blah AGAIN"
Then I found SPARK! and promised myself to never write a negative blog!
AND I am a new me!!!
in real-life I am so positive now!
the YOU CAN DO IT, KEEP IT UP!!! translated into my everyday language!
I even text my friends msg like I do here!
HEY LONG TIME, just want to know how you are doing?
etc. AWESOME, congratz!!!!
SO spread the Positivity!!!!!
I read ALL my SP-friendss Blog! but I really prefer to read POSITIVE ones!
If not on my list, NEXT!!! in my list, I feel obligated to CHUG through it!
WHY, you ask?
BECAUSE I am where I am, because a certain handful of SP-friend visit my blog, status, pics etc EVERY SINGLE DAY! and it makes a huge difference!
you know who you are, I thank you! I can't keep thanking you, so a HUGE thank you now!!!
So I think this is an essentail part of the SP experience!
I was sooo lost here on SP w/o the friends. stalking the msg board all the time ;p
1. NEVER run the same course!!! you will get hurt! Change it up, reverse the course!
2. Change shoes!
3. Don't up mileage too fast! you will get hurt ;p
ONLY #1 was new to me!!! that is how she thinks she got hurt!
the park course she ran had a slight slope, but running the same direction each time (slope) did something to the hip!
so if she changed, reversed she would have used both side equally and not strained her hamstrings ;p according to her doc!
So RUNNING FRIENDS:
1. CHECK your shoes, do you need new ones? 300-500 miles
2. Have you been RUNNING the same direction, course all this time! CHANGE it!
