WOW - You weren't kidding about this article... In fact YOUR blog inspired me enough by its title to read, which in turn took me to this wonderful and very motivating article. I agree with everything that this article states - SPARKPEOPLE is the BEST! Thank you! - For finding this, blogging about and sharing the title and link.

Although I do have to admit I did try to cut and paste the link from your blog but it didn't work. I then decided to do a Google search of the title and added “sparkpeople” (w/o quotes) at the end and this directed to the article. So I wanted to re-add the link for you here http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource

I think somehow the line spaces may have prevented the "cut & paste" to work.

Enjoy your journey and keep on sparkling!!

Two day progress in tracking food

Sunday, October 20, 2013

I have been successful in tracking my food now for two days. I am doing it on an app(free) on my phone that my doctor recommended to me "myfitnesspal".

Today it was interesting when we took our grandson to McDonald's and knowing that I would have to track, and knowing that I want to loose weight, I was tempted, but did not eat any of his french fries, or take a bite of his cheeseburger. I also didn't ask that we get ice cream after. My husband and I each had a grilled chicken-bacon wrap with no dressing. A positive of doing my part of the challenge in tracking for this week. Yeah.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon teammates for all of your support.

Woo-hoo for the tracking! I seem to be hit or miss in that department. And you did GREAT at McDonalds! I can bet that made you feel pretty good about making those better choices: emoticon ! Keep up the good fight!

What a week of overeating will do to you

Saturday, October 19, 2013

I admit it I overate this past week. I ate lots of nuts, got candy twice, had salty food, overate on the cheese, etc. Net result a gain of 4.5 lbs. I will not let that deter me, but urge me on to make the changes I need for this week. This week we have to track our food, and I intend to use that as a means to keep me on track, and know what I am eating. And keep me from buying junk to satisfying a craving just because I want to , and making wiser choices.

Oh, I know how hard this is!

Hard, but possible! We have only to read some of the many Spark Success Stories to see that it IS possible. One step, one bite, one choice at a time.

Best wishes with your nutrition tracking this week. Don't try to be perfect, just aim to be better!

You can do it!

God bless.

You're already ahead of the game because you know what contributed to the gain--I think that's a win. Keep going, BB! emoticon emoticon

Knowing is half the battle, right? ;)

For me, tracking ahead of time with the goal being to make range in ALL things, not just calories, works really well. When you're trying to get 35 grams of fiber in with a reduced calorie intake, it's really hard to justify eating french fries ;)

End of Week One Fall 5% challenge 2013

Friday, October 18, 2013

I didn't do well this week as far as eating is concerned. Nor in drinking my water. But I did get in some good workouts. I do plan to work harder next week, and the plan is to track all of our food. I plan to do that with a fitness app that I have on my cell phone that was recommended to me by my doctor. I will be having a easier week schedule wise, and less stress.

I Plan to plan my meals ahead of time.

Want to make progress on this challenge.

Ravyna --- Congrats on finishing week 1!!! Although some of your food choices might not have been the best - recognizing that is awesome. It's such a balancing act - food - water - exercise. It will take time for them to get in sync, but you're doing great. Keep up the good work!!

What matters is that you are tracking your food. You are good at doing this. It's a learning experience and I always feel so vulnerable to post it, so I'm very impressed with your posts!
