lesson 7: bite off a big bite, then chew!

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

I don't seem to do well without a big goal... my new big goal is to run a marathon inJanuary 2009. This willbe my second but this time I want to do more than just plain finish.. I want to actually track my time... So that's my awfully big bite I have taken.. and now I have to chew slowly and get all the pieces in the right place... wish me luck!!

Lesson 5: Avoiding the workout is actually harder than doing the workout

Thursday, November 02, 2006

There are days when I do everything in my power to talk myself out of a workout when in actuality I am just being lazy. This is when I call on my inner drill sargent to tell me to "get up and get out" and start my workout...

In the end I ALWAYS feel better for doing the workout...

now I can collect Sparkpoints too!

Lesson 4: When things don't work, it';s best to figure out WHY

Tuesday, October 31, 2006

I had a minor setback in terms of weight. After losing 2/5 lbs I gained it right back! BUT I am not going to kick myself for it. Instead I am going to take that energy and find out what happened. I thkn I know. I am working on balancing WW points with Spark calorie counting and it is proving to be too much for me. I should stick to ONE thing.... and then just do it...

Lesson 3: "I can't" really means " I don't want to"

Friday, October 27, 2006

I used to think that I was not able to do things like be in control of what I eat, stick to an excercise regimen or make real decision in my life.

IN fact I was making the decision to NOT do what I wanted or to NOT follow the suggestions of people that would help me get to my goals.

OK so now I am in the mode of "I can" and that means "I want to!"...

When I was browsing the blog entries, I saw your title and wanted to come in and say, "Whoo hoo!" Hey, we will all have times when we choose a less than healthy food or choose to skip a workout, but recognizing that those are choices is key to being successful.
